I played this version of Chaconne at my Mum's funeral and it still sends chills up my spine even now...One of the most emotionally charged violin performances that I've ever heard - amazing!
I consider the Sarah Chang performance of this piece a superb definitive performance. Cut with the beauty of nature, landscapes and a celebration of plants it's great to watch.
Oh. She is an angel playing a violin. I met her personally and talked to her with my family in Edinburgh concert hall, when she entertained the audience. I said, "You are an angel."
I think this is the best performance of Chaconne by Vitali. Sarah Chang’s tempo wasn’t deathly slow, the quality of her sound is perfect, and the way she played is very musical. Besides Sarah Chang’s version, I also love Oistrakh’s performance.
Stunning violinist Sarah Chang and yes the movie is amazing especially the ''End of the world'' at 3:53 then life re emerges at 4:46 in the form of plants and flowers !! Probably the way it would happen if a disaster like a huge asteroid did hit the Earth.
+Javier Vivanco So you have attended a concert and heard Midori play live then ? Really ? What date's and places did you her play play in these concerts then. Yes Midori is a great violinist , no doubt of that but many debate who is the best ever which is impossible to say, much of it is down to personal taste. I merely said that Sarah Chang is the best violinist that I have myself personally seen play live, meaning being in person at these concerts and comparing other live concerts I have been to where and when other violinists have played.
When a piece is played with such perfect mastery and emotional power, one keeps coming back to it... over time and over other renditions. A precious recording that belongs to the archives of human achievement...
This is phenomenal. I remember seeing her perform this masterpiece for the British Red Cross in Kinghtsbridge in 2015 and my goodness she was out of this world. An exceptional violinist.
The saddest day of my life was when I had to miss her performance in Shanghai, and also have the chance to meet her after some communication back and forth. Anyway...as always...this performance shows the depth of her being in every note. Beyond beautiful....not sad...introspective...contemplative....reflective...loving...with a regret here and there.
I have seen her perform live twice in different Concerts in London and also met her after both concerts when she meets her fans for photos, autographs etc.
What a beauty! Nothing I can say would be enough to describe it. Thanks to Sarah, to Vitaly and to whom has made this video. My deepest and sincere Bravo!
You know, I'm watching this for the past 2 days, and watching and listening and watching and I decided I had to congratulate you, the artist that created this movie! The artist that felt this music and expressed it so beautifully! Thank you, Aaron!
Stunning violinist Sarah Chang and yes the movie is amazing especially the ''End of the world'' at 3:53 then life re emerges at 4:46 in the form of plants and flowers !! Probably the way it would happen if a disaster like a huge asteroid did hit the Earth.
People always give me a hard time about listening to classical/instrumental/opera - guess if you see me you might understand why. I'm a total metal-head. I honestly couldn't care less what they think, I just wish they'd appreciate the skill, the devotion, the raw emotion of these pieces. The only true universal language. ...Love Sarah Chang...
To be fair I think she is calling this piece a 'song' because modern music is almost always in the form of songs. So she has become used to thinking of pieces of music as songs. There is nothing wrong with that, it is just the way she has experienced music.
It's not random, but I must say i did 2 years to understand it! First it's about the magnificence of the earth: mountains, trees, ... the beauty earth in general. But then at 4:00 you see the earth will be destroyed. Then you have this extremely beautiful passage of music (4:17-4:40) when you see the earth being destroyed. And then the earth begins again with growing. Plants are growing. Life is growing again. Everything that was destroyed is restoring. At the end everything is again magnificent but with the memory of the destroyed stuff in the memory.
Yes I know what you mean, saw her in concert in London 2010 and 2011 when she played the Bruch violin concerto. So much artistry and power, blows you away. No one else compares
I remember reading a comment now lost in the hundreds of comments since from a violinist who was practising playing this piece while at home but she had to stop because it was making her sister cry. About sums it up. It is such an emotional piece.
@@apollozhao1895 I have also met Sarah twice in London , both times after concerts she has played in when she meets her fans for a quick chat, photo's, autographs etc. Last time was in 2012.
The video is so different from what I've imagined listening the Vitali. I always have connected human being to this piece. At the scene of stiff waterfall and so dazzling rainbow, I see a human who fall down to the water being bewitched by the rainbow and throwing away all the sorrow he suffered from. You all must have your own imagination from this?
I absolutely love this piece and the video! I'm a student leaning this piece right now and for some reason scenery has always been extremely helpful to me for gaining comprehension of and memorize a piece so thank you so much for sharing!
It covers all the emotions. Romance, comedy, dark... the full range. Takes you from the lowest low of despair to sublime romance.

I prefer Heifetz (with Ellsasser) version, it has a darker tone to it. Chang's is great technically too.
One of THE most powerful pieces I've listened to in the repertoire.
The angel fall. Sarah chang. Two of the most beautiful thing in the word

Sarah Chang is the best violinist I have ever seen or heard live......... and I have seen many.

This piece draws on an unusual use of the bow, and that's key to the unusual beauty.
Chang brings it to life beautifully.

She is the highest violinist in the world. Perfectly expressed with very much emotion and intensity.

Fell in love with this from the moment she started playing 💕

Incredible performance by the best violinist ever, The video was beautiful, beautiful. Thanks Aaron.

freakin hell that chord at the beginning and those triplets
DAMN GOOD!
I see the universe in this music.

sweet sorrow*
Her name is ''Sarah Chang''
Love the videos of nature! And the music along with it is just stunning
this is angelic music, it makes me cry

Majestueux ! Quelle œuvre grandiose
Quelle performance, quelle émotion
So majestic. Such a brilliant performance!
Exquisitely executed! I am so thrilled to find her doing this piece.
Suono superbo...... È un bellissimo brano, ottima l'esecuzione!!!!!......... Bravi!!!!
The best song, the best violinist! I'm felt in love for this!
Ana Carolina Faria its not a song. it is a piece
Song usually a short piece of music which is sung. Might be accompanied by one or more musical instruments.
To be fair I think she is calling this piece a 'song' because modern music is almost always in the form of songs. So she has become used to thinking of pieces of music as songs. There is nothing wrong with that, it is just the way she has experienced music.
Video is kind of random, but this classical piece is absolutely stunning.

absolutly wonderful and divine wonderful SARAH CHANG

Sarah Chang just moved the planets with this powerful rendition
Simply stunning in every respect. Sarah Chang's playing is the best and most moving I have ever heard
The picture blends so well in the music! Amazed!!!! Love u, Sarah. ♥
David Chang
David Chang
