the whole album is amazing they have very strong rap line (3 rappers) who write their own lyrics like ateez also hongjoong is part of their producing team (lyrics, composing and arrangement) he is heavily involve in every song of their album i think this group will be an addition to kq and with time they will be very strong group as ateez because they gave them the live stages experience before they even debut

So they do have a lore. It’s essentially them being goblins. The title track Tricky house actually translates to Goblins house in Korean. In Korean culture Goblins are viewed as nature spirits who can either be helpful to the humans they encounter or a hindrance. The 1st song on their EP opens with an introduction to their lore actually. The whole album is a hit. Very listenable straight through.
They do have a few live stages up. Tricky house, Rockstar their second title track that we hope will get promotion with its own MV soon and Xikey. All performances were phenomenal. Like Ateez they’re a performance centered group. But Xikers, at least for now are leaning more into hip hop and Rock music. But I see them definitely going into different routes.
If you want to see more of their pre-debut stuff they do have a predebut song called Geek. The rap line consisting of Minjae, Sumin and Yechan have a unit song and video called Canvas. Fans of Ateez have actually heard Tricky house in advance months before this debut. Due to them performing it at Kcon as well as the opening act for Ateez’s tour through North America.
They even have a few series of variety style content out already that you can check out on their channel.

Think of it like Psykers as a way to pronounce it. X+Hikers, a group searching for coordinates through time and space.
The Hangol word used is actually Goblin (maybe Tricky is the name for a "chief Goblin"), but, its a mischievous sprite that delights in chaos and fun trickery.
So they are all magical sprites, having fun and causing a little bit of mayhem, but in cool and interesting ways.....basically taking this tired guy and giving him a night of wild energetic fun, while they dance and have fun too, using their magic to transform the train etc
They actually went on tour with Ateez and performed this plus Geek (which is their KQF2 song) and it has an MV and dance practice
the mini album has a 2nd title track "Rockstar" and will likely have an MV in a week or 2.
They did a whole showcase, its on their channel and worth watching, it has some song plus a dance cover to Industry Baby and little videos about the group in general
Ages are 19-17 i believe so not much in it

Their concept is goblins (the Korean title is actually goblin house), and in their EP there is an intro song that sets the tone for the lore.
This EP is a double title track, the other title track is Rockstar (no mv yet)

This debut is absolute FIRE!!!! Every song on the album is EPIC!!! You should do an album listen!
    And
Xikers are already performance BEASTS right out the gate!!! They have so much charisma and energy!!!
I love that Xikers have their own concept and storyline, and the album ties in perfectly with it. It's very cohesive.
I read that their name "Xikers" is a combo of "X", as in coordinates on a map and "Hikers" - as in travelers - & their storyline involves them traveling the world looking for coordinates (going on a wild journey).
I also read that their concept is that they are GOBLINS (look at their "goblin" signature character wearing the ghost-looking white hoodie). The MV Korean title for Tricky House directly translates to 'Goblin House'.
So unlike western 'ghosts/spirits' which are associated with the death of a human, in Korean lore they're nature-like spirits, and that's why you see the blue flames throughout the Tricky House MV, since goblins are associated with blue flames in Korean lore. Goblins (in Korean lore) can also transform into different things and take on different forms and so on" :
Dokkaebi (Korean: 도깨비) are legendary creatures from Korean mythology and folklore. Dokkaebi, also known as "Korean goblins", are nature deities or spirits possessing extraordinary powers and abilities that are used to interact with humans, at times playing tricks on them and at times helping them. (From Wikipedia).
I'm so excited for them! And so proud of Xikers, KQ, Eden/Edenary & Hongjoong (he was also very involved in the writing and production, too)! GO, XIKERS!!!!!

Korean goblins (dokkaebi) are nature spirits/gods that can inhabit objects and have special powers. They can be mischievous and can also be helpful. They're associated with blue flame (Wikipedia), so it may be that the blue flames around the man in some shots are the members in their natural form.
My take: while it appears the goblins are being mischievous, I believe they're being mischievous in a helpful way. The man is working so late that no one is left on the subway by the time he leaves work. He looks stuck in the daily grind of life. I think exposing him to music, the arcade, dancing, and the carnival is their attempt to help him remember what it feels to enjoy life again. At the end of the bridge, they say "tell me what you want. Tell me what you need." and a car appears. I think they gave him what they sensed he wanted. The man smiles ear to ear as he drifts around the parking lot. Minjae's last words are "don't forget." This could have double meaning: 1) "Don't forget" it's our time now (we've debuted). 2) "Don't forget" to have fun and enjoy your life (within the context of the MV). I think they left because they had accomplished their mission. Apparently, goblins are known to inhabit household items like tools and brooms. I think the ten brooms at the end are proof he hadn't been dreaming. He had actually encountered 10 goblins.
They may be using the English term Tricky instead of goblin because international fans can have different ideas of what a goblin is (like Lord of the Rings). Tricky gives the general idea (though the title is Goblin House in Korean).

So happy to see this reaction! Also that you've watched the dance practice! I see that their choreographers have released their choreo dance practice too now ... what I loved most about seeing both just confirms my feelings about xikers is that they are so youthful and fun. Watching BB Tripping dance practice vs theirs is so cool because it is amazing to see the different vibe that these young boys have brought to it. So fun and youthful vs BBT being more like how Ateez are like way more mature like a seasoned dance crew (maybe i can't find the proper words to describe it). This whole album is such a young vibe.. makes me want to be 18 again and vibe like that....I don't think music has ever moved me with that specific feels before. I'm looking forward to the second title track of this album having an mv too hopefully 🙏

They have a LOT of pre debut stuff. They actually had performed this song as the opening for ateez’s concerts back in November. So we have known of this song for a while now & even tho many were upset this was one of the title tracks, I think it’s a good move on KQ cause a lot of fans love it!

Normally I can tell wether I'll like a song just by hearing the first 30 seconds of it and this song didn't disappoint as I fell in love with it straight away and I love the electric/EDM sound of it aswell.
I also love the rapping and choreo too and its so catchy😊
Also my Xikers bias is Hunter

They are just incredible live, i would definitely check out their xikey performance :) also Hongjoong got credited on every song of the album (which is so good), though some of the members are already involved in lyrics. so glad you checked them out 🖤

Yes to all this! First, it's a banger, though I admit that I'm surprised that Tricky House became the debut song only because they've been performing it as an opener for ATEEZ and other events for months pre-debut, which is why the dance practice is so "old" relative to the debut release. There are lots of live stages of it, and they got to perform live as sort of a primer for later live performances, which I think benefitted them a LOT. Second, there IS a lore to them. They actually released an hour-long video that I think goes into much more detail about the lore itself, but I haven't watched it yet (shocker, I know). The intro on the album, though, talks through who Tricky is and how Tricky came into being. The album is _surprising_ in its range. No heartfelt ballads, but a really good showcase of the talent here. As though it's unclear, too, that red-headed little rap demon is Yechan, and he's the maknae of the group at 17, and I think the longest trainee so far? He was introduced as being at KQ in 2018, so do with that what you will! Like their sunbaes, the group went to LA to train their dance and performance skills, so there's a series and song (Geek) created from that (like ATEEZ's From), as well as a mega ton of pre-debut variety and interview-type content, dance covers, live busking they did on the streets Seoul (SKZ God's Menu, ATEEZ's The Real, The Boyz's Thrill Ride), and most recently at KCON Thailand, where KQ's only foreign group member is from. Like Good Times, they're "gonna be big." Glad to see you, good to know you enjoyed them!
