Hey everybody, just want you to know all is well. I have been exploring new things outside of video for a while. My goal has always been to create content I'm happy with - not to pump out as many videos as possible. Have had some amazing things happen lately that have taken up all my time. I'll get back to it when the time is right :) Glad to see people enjoying what my friends and I have shared. Resurgam.
What beautiful wilderness. Love your mindset and love your mellow positive energy. Wonderful to see you roaming the wild places--keep at it while you still can--before responsability ties you down. Keep sharing your adventures with us.
This looks amazing. We have beautiful places in England but nothing as vast and wild as this. I hope everything is ok and you can continue posting videos soon. I look forward to the next episode in this series. Take care.
What the hell... This Canada landscapes are amazing! And video is masterpice, this wild living people, this cowboys, maaan im in love hah. I need to travel to this beautiful country someday. Greetings from Poland!
Really enjoyed that. Route finding to boot. That's and adventure. Imagine settlers going through with Red River Carts on wooden wheels. Daunting to think of. Will you be putting up video number four or whatever follows? Thanks for sharing the adventure.
Dude! I watch your videos and they inspire me so much! The backpacking looks amazing up north...I can stomach Colorado bears...the moose can be a little intimidating...but I've always had a mental block in griz country. One day I'll do it, hopefully I will meet the right adventure friends to do it with to help me break the fear!
I really don't feel like starting my shift soon. I have caught many Atlantic salmon in Cape Breton, I can understand how a person feels...like catching a freight train!!
I really enjoy your vids. Just wondered if you have seen Dall sheep during your hikes. I would like to make a trip to see one of these awesome critters.
This was becoming one of my favorite channels..... I was developing a man crush on you then you stopped making vids. Seriously though, this is an awesome channel. Great content, beautiful scenery..... hope all is well and hope to see you on here again soon. Take care.
Surprised at how many people you encountered. The group at the camp gave you a map. Did you really not have a paper map of the area? Great series, scenery and videography.
We were surprised too! We had no idea there were even trails that deep in the valley. We weren't worried about having a map because we were in a valley, pretty hard to get truly lost with all those mountains and a huge river to follow.
It has been 6 months, hope all is well. You started to have good following. "Often-times will find that the story doesn't always go the way you had in mind" Watch your top knot.
There is always some guy who thinks his harmonica playing in the woods is cool! He is usually the guy that gets the first arrow when the Indians attack, or gets whacked by Jason's machete! I am not sure why you are not eating wonderful trout, but to each his own. Anyway, great scenery, and good luck.
Also cut throat trout in those rivers are protected. Because people take too much when it was open. Buy fish from store or put and pull lakes. Not from wild places where pictures and tourism earn millions.
In case i ever expand my hiking outside of scandinavia, what is the chance to encounter a predator in clearwater/rocky mountains? we have only brown bears and wolves mostly, but never even seen one in the past 7 years. I think its rare to even spot a moose. Thanks.
Most predators are very wary of humans. So they are likely to see you before they let you see them. There are a lot of grizzly, wolves and cougars there however. I wouldnt hike there again without a gun.
Mark Gieljoumie In Canada the government allots every couple hundred square KM of wilderness to a person to trap and hunt a certain amount of different fur bearing animals. Beaver is the mandatory one. To keep the ecosystem from being damaged every trapper is given a number of beavers he MUST trap every year based on fly-overs and on the ground research that is done by goverment scientists and conservationists. At $5-10 a pelt for a nice beaver(2 or 3 hours work) it's a a dying way of life.
Zold Outdoors definitely not in the top 10 of career choices then. I guess some people could find that quite lonely and boring, and most people (at least the ones I know), would not cope with that amount of hard work and isolated environment. Thanks for the reply. Greetings from Cape Town South Africa. Love your vids. You guys are awesome.
In 2 weeks I set out to cycle completely around the world over a 3 year or more period. I have to admit to never having cycle toured before, and never wild camped either. Noises in the night, do you ever get used to them? I appreciate that situations like setting up your tent at the low water mark, or sleeping in a sealskin sleeping bag on pack ice might not be good ideas, but how can you set my mind at rest that everything is cool, and just diving into the bushes pretty much anywhere and setting up tent is OK. Steve ua-cam.com/users/StephenPeelMr
hearing a noise at night you have never heard before can be a bit unnerving but you'll come to get used to the ones in your area pretty quickly. I live in Australia and we dont have any large predatory animals so at least in this country you know you pretty much are biggest baddest animal in the bush and nothing is going to attack you unless you make it feel threatened
Hands in Gill plate absolutely not good for trout or char that wonderful fish probably died even if it swam away strongly.... Trout are not Pike even Gil plating Pike is not good for them. Please handle Alberta's fish responsibly
"It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood, a neighborly day in this beautywood... hey neighbor... not you bear!" Carry on: ua-cam.com/video/2X_2IdybTV0/v-deo.html PS, PERFECT audio for your video!
The thing is hes not good. You most likely just killed that fish by grabbing him under the gill plate. Tough to see such a large endangered trout killed by poor handling.
I have to admit, being from Ontario where we have trout aplenty, and rarely playing the catch-and-release game, my handling knowledge is based on the idea of catching fish until I have enough to eat that day, not for sport. I was made aware of my mistake here over a year ago and now avoid the gill plate if its a fish I cannot keep and eat. Thanks for pointing this out and hopefully others will learn from this comment.

All is very well! Just busy doing other things. Thanks Rick!
Your last name, Zöld, is of Hungarian origin, and it literally means Green. It also explains your affinity for nature. It's baked into your DNA.
Exactly. Bizonyám!
Was wondering what part of Alberta was the camp at the beginning of your trip?. I have Early memories from that place and can’t remember where it is
Tusday's the first day of spring. Reflect and share your thoughts with us..
Didn't get lost permanently eh ? Seems like a crowded place Still in all a great trip Thanks for bringing me along Brian 77
Bout timeee

Bull trout are a protected species in Alberta. No killing. They are bigger here than anywhere else... Alberta's provincial fish.
Also cut throat trout in those rivers are protected. Because people take too much when it was open. Buy fish from store or put and pull lakes. Not from wild places where pictures and tourism earn millions.
These are 100% Wildfish no goofy park ranger comes and dumps in fish so that people can take it and eat it later
Love it!
Great channel/videos! Are you using a coffee can with puncture holes as a stove? If so, how well does it work?
Martin Parent Worked way better than my buddies store bought stove hahaha Thanks for watching
Hahaaaa - love it. Leaving for Mississagi on saturday so I'm definitely gonna try that out. Thanks man!
I really really love your videos and your way of think ( in some videos I saw xD )

Was that a Kenny Loggins reference in there? I'm alright!
I'm sorry to ask such a silly question, but what is a trapper?
Mark Gieljoumie In Canada the government allots every couple hundred square KM of wilderness to a person to trap and hunt a certain amount of different fur bearing animals.
