I cut together a music video for "Some of These Days" by Andrew Bird's Bowl of Fire using footage from my cross-country voyage from San Francisco, CA to Savannah, GA.
Beautiful song from one of my favorite Artist first time ive heard this one ... coincidence im going away tomorrow. Well, see yall after rehab. Thank you A.B.B.O.F. much love and mad respect from New Mexico! ❤
Thanks Savannah Ann! I have mostly old stuff on this channel. If you'd like to see what I've been working on more recently, check out www.stephenvanderpool.com! :)
Muy bien. Reminds me of my road trips, glad someone captured it like this. Funny I used to not like this song until I found out it was an old swing song, now I enjoy it and love that he made it folky. But check out Cab Calloways live version, pretty funny to watch after Andrew Birds.
Wondering if someone could do me a huge favor. I'm looking for more music like this. I know Andrew Bird is contemporary, but obviously the style here is old American folk. Where can I find more songs in this style? Old original recordings would be appreciated, or newer reprisals of old folk songs too. I love the simple, nostalgic melody and sound. And I want to dive deeper into it.
@DiamondJoe Man, you're the best! I wasn't sure if anyone would ever get back to me about this. I really, really appreciate. I can't wait to listen through these. Thank you.
You know the original version of "Some of These Days" was written in 1910? I tried to give you a link to a recording of Sophie Tucker singing it from the 1920s, but I guess you can't comment with links to other vids on YT. Anyways, check it out! It's incredible how the song has evolved!

Thanks!! Andrew Bird is the man.
Reminds me of a friend I lost 3 months ago. THANK YOU! I love this song. It's beautiful.
Thanks for watching! Yes, I love EVERYTHING from Thrills. Andrew Bird is the man.
Was just listening to Thrills and happened upon this video. Love it.
Oh wow. I actually had no idea. I just watched it. Very cool. Thanks for the info!

Neat compilation. I like the sepia style used on the images as well, not to mention the fact you used one of my favorite Andrew Bird pieces.
Haha, that IS divine. Thanks for the recommendation!
This reminds me of a short story I'm plan on writing.
Wonderful

Exceptional production! Such a shame that this only has 236 views, while other "GARBAGE" on UA-cam gets millions of views... :(
