I'm really diggin the puffy beard, Santa! That's one the reasons why I like having a coarse curly beard because it has a lot of volume! Needless to say, your beard now has a lot of volume. Thanks for the video.

My point exactly. I'm 40 now and have not been using any sort of soap products in/on/for my hair and beard, on a daily or regular basis, since my early 20's. Maybe once in a while when I go to my barber or hairdresser and if he insists for some reason. But otherwise I'd rather work with my natural oils and let my body do what is needed to keep it healthy. I have no dandruff, no overly greasy hair and literally no issues at all. Just a year ago I started growing my top hair out again. Which I haven't done since my late teens. It's reached shoulder length now and my barber still complements me, despite how I "treat" my hair and is actually honestly surprised how healthy it is. My beard length is roughly the same as yours, George.
I feel most products are overrated and were mostly created for marketing and profits. On occasions I will use a little beard balm or oil, but with social distancing my 3.38 oz tub of balm has now lasted me since MAY 2019! Clearly this method is not for everyone out there, but if you're tired of all the "maintenance" it's well worth a try.

I've been washing my face with water only for the last 3 years and not only that it's not oily, it's even dry sometimes. The more you wash away your natural oils, the more your pores will produce it, because your skin needs it, otherwise it would crack and wrinkle.

@@trapperjohn8508 next best thing is to use 100% natural soap made from oils and lye, kind of hard to get them in stores but you can get them online. Natural soap is quite mild and doesn't have detergents in it.

The no shampoo and no soap thing doesn't work in places with hard water. In my city the water is VERY hard. I have to clean the calcium from my water boiler once a week. I use argan oil on my hair and beard almost daily, otherwise it literally falls out.

I enjoyed this. What I would like to see you do is a video on old man eyebrows. I recently had my hair cut and the female beautician also trimmed my eyebrows back down to size. George, is this something I can do at home? This is necessary for older men's hygiene, at 57 I'm already getting hairs growing wildly in my eyebrows like my grandfather had that looked hideous and Ivdon't want them on me as I grow older. Thanks.

In my experience I would completely and totally agree that when you are eating a healthful diet, and getting enough exercise, your skin doesn't need to eliminate yuck. The bacteria eat yuck to create stink. No yuck? Ergo, no stink.
I told my son years ago, that your skin is the biggest organ in/on the body and that you are basically causing it to defend itself if you introduce too many chemicals (like certain soaps. Americans are almost obsessed with using soaps!). Don't get me wrong, I'm no tree hugging, patchouli wearing hippie. But I heard the argument and some of it makes a lot of sense!
I was a big fan of Grandpa's Pine Tar (cool feature it smells like a campfire!) I found it's actually the one thing that worked to externally calm down bacne on my son, going through his early teen years.
I have extremely sensitive delicate skin and so I could pretty much only really ever use plain tepid water. I would generally react to almost any product.
I simply adore your videos they are so informational!!

    • @ListenMySon

I guess it depends on if the makeup is oil based, then I would do oil-cleansing on your face. As far as hair, hairspray really needs to be washed out. But for women who have poor styles, it may not work.
