What a beautiful but expensive place to be quarantined. What is Katrina talking about the bikes are for kids? I would most definitely rent one of those little go cart things and speed around. Always a kid at heart here…lol.
That’s exactly what is was, a beautiful expensive quarantine. And yeah I (Chris) could see myself on one of those as bikes as well. I’m still a kid at heart. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching.
Thanks for the kind words! Hoping to meet everyone on the road to exchange stories, adventures over a glass of wine or two. 🍷 we really appreciate you watching and subscribing to our channel!😊
@@robertdoyen5434 I (Chris) wanna say we are going through Wisconsin this year. Katrina is the trip planner. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated. Thanks
WOW! Those vacation suites will be nice. They really did a good job rebuilding the KOA. Like all the amenities and the size of the sites. Sounds like you were quarantined in a gorgeous camp. Too bad you couldn't enjoy it.
Well I guess if you’re going to be quarantined it may as well be somewhere nice. 🤷♂️ But on the bright side we do have a good reason to go back. And go back we will. Thanks guys we really appreciate you taking the time to comment. Stay safe.
Like your campground review and we like running into your channel so safe travels from Rick and Pam from southern Ohio at Big Bear Creek family campground
Great review video! We have been trying for the past couple of days to get a spot in the Keys next winter and are giving up- it’s impossible! Loved the bloopers! Chasing RV Sunshine ☀️ Joel, Deb & 🐕 Maya
Awww, thank you. You can’t give up! People cancel all the time. We are headed south through Indiana this June. With the insane gas prices we’re looking into spending some time in Wisconsin. Any suggestions on areas of the state to visit?
@@oureverydaygetaway We are trying to get a month stay, so that’s making it harder- like way hard! 😂 But Door County and Bayfield County in Wisconsin are amazing!
I love KOA and we stay at them as much as possible-I find them to be very well taken care of -I am a member of KOA and a VIP -Keep up the good work KOA 😁🚌🇺🇸
In our experience (limited) we like them as well. Always something to do, and the staff are great. If you haven’t been yet, you’ll love this KOA. Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching.
as I've said before, I love you doing the GPS zoom in to show the location. But I didn't see the site map this time as I always like when you do that also. I was not surprised (but not happy with LOL) at the cost though considering it is in the Keys.
I swear Jim every time I do one of the vids I remember what you told me. But I just had a hard time finding the right spot. Katrina and I got a good laugh from it though. The cost was ridiculous but it’s a very nice campground. Many high-end rigs at this location. Just saying. Thank Jim!
Great video thanks! Must have been sad to watch everyone having fun with live music at the bar area while you quarantined watching from your windows :o)
Nice review. Have been watching you for a while now. One request. When doing a campground/park review could you perhaps mention accomodations for handling 40+ rigs with stacker/enclosed trailers with overall lengths of 60 to 70 feet? Can you make it work in the park, where do you park your hauler etc. Never hear anyone talk about this. Most of you flat tow which is obviously easier to manage. Appreciate it.
Very good point. We will try to remember to do that on our next campground/rv park review. Thanks for your comments! Wishing you a safe and happy summer!
So you said you had TT do you still have to pay on top of that membership where you're at now in this video. Looks like a nice place to kick back and enjoy some sunshine We will probably be investing in TT as well but not quite sure how it works Thanks for the video
KOA is not part of TT. TT does have a Key West location and we hear it’s hard to get into. We pay an annual fee for TT on top of our membership fee. And if you want to add the “Encore” campgrounds, that’s another fee. Hope this helps. Let us know. Thanks again!
That seems so expensive. We stayed in Key West at Hilton and was charged just over $300 a night. It's a beautiful KOA and looks like a nice time if you want to relax or stay busy.
No doubt it was expensive. On the flip side it was a super nice resort. This was definitely a vacation for us not somewhere we can afford to go on a regular basis. Sounds like you enjoyed your time in the Keys as well. Thanks for watching and enjoy your journey. 😊
@@oureverydaygetaway it is the fanciest park in the keys. Each site has a tiki hut with a kitchen and a living room and most of the sites are on the water whether on the canal or the bay with their own docks. It does check off all the boxes for camping in the keys.
I have been wanting to do something like the RV lifestyle, but i am on social security and there is no way i could pay more than 25 dollars per day to camp/ live, full time.
Just getting out even part time or here and there is always fun. Don't let not being able to go full time stop you. Life is too short not to see this beautiful country of ours. Take care and thanks for watching!
@@oureverydaygetaway , yeah, sentiment taken and understood. Long story short, i was kinda forced to retire early, and fully planned to at least get an RV for vacations, but then Covid screwed up RV prices and gas, and now food, along with everything else. Then that fool Putin invaded Ukraine, then the stock market and my money took a dive, and now i have some health problems. But, my first thought about my health is, the worse news i get, the higher the chance i will expedite my travel, cuz time may get compressed quick, depending on diagnosis. Other battle i have is, my better half is not very mobile, because of 2 hip replacements and weight gain. Plus to be honest, she has never been a camper, maybe a Glamper, Lol but not too sure she will wanna spend that kinda money on a Class A ? Thanks for your thoughts and response :)
I noticed all the rigs are newer. They are like a lot who only allow nice newer rigs. I think there are a lot of beautiful older Motorhomes but I see the mainstream resorts make no exceptions. Is this KOA like that?
We agree! Many people do a great job taking care of their rig regardless of the age. Not sure if this KOA had a year restriction on RV’s. I know there were older rigs there. Not many but they were there. To be honest, most of the rigs were high end. I wouldn’t let that stop you though. It’s a very nice KOA. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching.
You missed it . The best campground in Key West is sigsbee Campground. Not the koa or Boyd's. It only cost us $14.00 a day for a waterfront site. Or $400.00 a month . We stay for a month for what the koa charges for a weekend. If we stay at the campground at Truman annex it is $15.00 a night and it's only 800 ft off duval street and 3 blocks from mallory square.
A great price for retired military personnel. Not available for non-military. So a little misleading in comparing a military only RV park with any other Civilian rv parks on key west.

$200 a night for a KOA? I would hope it has amenities. You can't afford to do anything outside of staying there at that price.
The amenities were off the charts too bad for us getting COVID.
