They are still learning when it comes to 3d animation mixed with anime and when you see it seamlessly incorporated into American animation that is because America has had decades to work with it.
Uh, the animation and directing is fine. It's JC Staff, they are like the industry baseline for good animation. Not everything needs to be grossly overanimated like Pretty Boy Detective Club.

The Daemons and the Hyumans aren't gonna know what hit them. According to Eris, the demiplane boot camp the forest ogres went through is scary, along with Komoe's training technique of "I'm going to cut them and then heal them"
Why did they change Agares weapons? He uses a large mace in the WN/LN, its a minor but weird change considering that its easier to animate a single weapon versus animating two.
I appreciate they didn’t give Emma glowing eyes or do any humor to undercut her. Tomoe, Mio, and Shiki are clearly stronger and all, but they’re undercut by the silly glowing red eyes or just the humor of their statements.
Makoto wants Kalenon, both because it is his parents’ homeland and because opening a portal there will give the demiplane a stable climate. Originally, he was planning to negotiate with the demons for it, but because Rona didn’t feel the need to warn him about her plan for the mutant monsters destroying Rotsgard, he decided to punish them a bit and take it by force as a show of strength. And the residents of the demiplane are showing off how strong they’ve become to Makoto and the others. There’s also the fact that the goddess made taking Fort Stella as part of their deal to have her leave him alone, and Fort Stella is on the southern border of Kalenon, so he decided that if he was going to take the fort, he might as well take the whole thing. Of course, the goddess wanted to be able to use the fort to start pushing the demons back, but now that Makoto has taken Kalenon, he has no intention of letting any hyuman or demon armies cross his lands. This is all the culmination of the stress and anger he’s been feeling due to the hyumans and demons playing games with him, trying to assassinate and poison his people, and general unpleasantness that he’s been having to deal with since starting to make contact with hyumans. Basically, the goddess pushed him past his breaking point, so he crashed out and took an entire country in a fit of rage. Just wait until you see his plans for Fort Stella.
