Excellent video, thank you. The floating Fat Boy doesn’t really float but just sinks slower and it doesn’t have a rattle like the “ungilled” Fat Boy. That said, do you bend the nose and tail down on the floating Fat Boy too? I’d thing the floating Fat Boy would be better for shallower water or higher in the water column. Thanks, and keep up great videos like this one.
absolutely a great video! i have been fishing for trout and reds for years and i have minimal confidence in a corky. i am determined to learn and use them this winter!
excellent vid. but could you explain a bit on the VMC singles facing one another...especially the belly hook and why you position it as such....thanks Ed.
I just placed an order on 2 fat boy pros and 3 soft dine xl. It is going to be my first winter where I wade saltwater. I normally fish from the boat but I am getting waders soon. I have thrown the paul brown original before many years ago with no luck. I am hoping this winter I can find luck on this lure and I can catch a new pb trout. What are some ways you work this lure when it is cold in december
Freshwater fisherman heading to TX coast in August to fish surf with other saltwater rookie fisherman. Stumbled across 9 corkys in a clearance bin at a DFW Academy for .99 each. Bought them all. Would you recommend using them in the surf ? Soft dines and Fat Boys. Thx .
I had a Paul Brown Fatty Texas Chicken Corky & I walked out on the Quintana Jetties at sunrise & started smoking huge 20" plus Spec's! Limited out in 10min. I had guys offering me $50 for that lure but it was the only 1 I had. I started culling 17" & 18" Trout. It was fire for 2 days but a storm came in & the bite stopped. If there's Trout in the water? They'll smoke this Lure! Thanks for the info... Tight Lines 🤟
I was watching your video and very good I am at a Saint Petersburg Florida and I use Corky's all the time. the only thing I did not see that you didn't present was walk the dog Corky. is the walk the dog Corky something new? thank you
Love the video, Caleb's video is excellent on the tuning of the fatboy. I saw the broken back at the beginning, I haven't seen any in a while? Are they still making them?
Hey Mike been watching you since the beginning and a live stream would be cool. Really would like to hear your fall and winter strategies. Last winter I worked deep holes around sweetwater, pirate cove, Moses and tiki with limited success.
Awesome informative video. I’m diggin the customs too! Have you ever used the storm cork lures? They’ve been discontinued for awhile now and I find them once in awhile on e bay. Can bend the heck out of them and definetly catch fish just as good if not even better than the Corky’s. Someone had told me these were the original cork lures and Paul browns were a copy of them. I don’t even know if the storm lure company has been around as long as Paul browns. How bout the tsunami cork lures? Very effective but made of cheap materials. Maybe that why they were also discontinued lol. Keep up the good vids from Virginia beach VA!
Great content!! I’m just trying to figure out where you got that pink and brown corkie I like that color,I fish with the Victoria secret down south a lot and it resembles it a lot
No problem, think I’ve watched most of your videos! Between you and Capt. Caleb I have picked up on a lot of helpful tips and even learned about corky’s lol!
I tried the switching out of the hooks and found that the bait sunk quicker and didn't have the buoyancy and had to twitch it harder to keep off of the bottom , it would need a bigger cork in the body for the offset of added weight .
The corky u brought out on 1:40 Where do I find it. I love that color. Brownish with gold black top that has chartreuse dots. I cannot find it anywhere. I need this in my life. 😂
Good vid Mike. Instead of going through the history of corky, I’m just gonna send people here!
Thanks man! I tried to make that part as short and sweet as I could.

Best Texas bay channel I’ve come across
I really appreciate that!
By far the best channel to get fishing tips love the content bud
Man, I really appreciate that!
Yes sir no problem
absolutely a great video! i have been fishing for trout and reds for years and i have minimal confidence in a corky. i am determined to learn and use them this winter!
Best saltwater channel by far. Keep up the good work brother.
Thank you so much!
Great tips! I bought my first one a little bit ago. I only fished it once and haven't hooked up on anything yet, but I am going to keep trying. :)
I love that Chartreuse and White Corky Devil, caught lots of trout on that lure.
Great video !!! A live stream answering questions would be great
I’m planning on it.

Hey buy I ran into you at AA this afternoon. I was asking about the Tristan rod… you have a sweet set of fishing rods! Thanks for showing them to me 👍
You are very welcome. Hope that helped! Did you end up getting a trident?
@@TexasFishingForce yes sir. It took a few weeks but got the Trident and the Latis. Both are 🔥🔥
THANK YOU for the tips. Tomorrow will be my first time using a Corky!
Great! How did it go?

Absolutely! Corkies work great in the surf.

Yeah, anglers Anonymous Carrie’s some of the broken backs.

Yeah, you’ve been here since I started and I appreciate it. I definitely plan on doing a live stream next month.

Never used the storm cork lures, but I’ll definitely keep an eye out for them. I’d love to try one. Thanks for watching! I appreciate it.

Thank you! I got that at anglers Anonymous. I thought the same thing when I picked that up. I’m a huge fan of victorious secret as well.
I always switch the the hooks for #4 Gamakatsu short shank treble hooks.
Awesome! Tips. Thanks! 👍🎣🎣🎣🎣🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟 awesome channel
Thank you
Thanks for the tips on lures
Absolutely! Thanks for watching!
Do a video on Steve brown lures!! Check out the peanuts and broken back corkys
Ive done a few videos on corkies but havent covered those specifically.
Thank you for the video, very informative. I just started purchasing these and I am barely going to try them in the water. You guys rock! Thanks ..
Thank you!
When changing your treble hooks what would be the best size of single hook replacement? And does the weight of hook become factor?
I buy similar weight if I can or it can effect the lure dropping correctly. I use a few different sizes depending on what I’m fishing for.
@@TexasFishingForce But what are the sizes you use? 2/0, 3/0?
That's a good trick with the in-line hooks for storage but...has the hook up ratio changed for you? Since the tail hook is facing in
I haven’t noticed a big difference honestly. The way fish slam these the hookups are pretty consistent.
@@TexasFishingForce awesome thanks! Gonna give it a try
Great content, keep it up!
Thank you very much!

Jason Christie that’s great to hear. Thanks for the support.
Awesome video, where is Anglers Anonymous located
In Katy, Texas. West of Houston.
What size inline do you recommend
I tried the switching out of the hooks and found that the bait sunk quicker and didn't have the buoyancy and had to twitch it harder to keep off of the bottom , it would need a bigger cork in the body for the offset of added weight .
Good video ,, wish you would have coverd a bit on how to work them ,,,
I can definitely do that, thank you!
The corky u brought out on 1:40 Where do I find it. I love that color. Brownish with gold black top that has chartreuse dots. I cannot find it anywhere. I need this in my life. 😂
That is a custom corky I bought at Anglers Anonymous
Texas Fishing Force do u know the name of what it’s called so I can call to make an order
Not sure on the color, it from custom corky. I’ll ask the next time I’m up there.
Great content …thank you much
Glad you enjoyed it
Do you use them year round? Used to be considered a winter bait.
I hear people say that often. I use them year around and have a lot of success on them regardless of the time of year.
Texas Fishing Force that’s good to know!
Hey Mike, who won the subscriber give away. Link to it is dead.
We had 6 winners total. Joey Ricther won the rod though.
What size hooks
So helpful :)
Thank you! Glad it helps!
What colors do u like best that might me iv used them and no luck
Depends on water clarity. I did another video on colors of lures that might help, but generally stained water I go darker in color.
thanks for the info
Thank you
Can you use a corky in the marsh or red Fish
Absolutely! I do it often.
thank you!
What size inlines on fat boys?
How about a meet and great day
I’d love too. Wanted to do one a few months back but schedule didn’t work out. Maybe I can plan one for December
What size inline hooks
I use 2 or 3 depending on brand. Weight difference is the biggest key for me.
