Hope you keep trying! I believe overmixing the batter is the worst mistake you can make, otherwise just make sure your egg whites are still good (no need to age, use fresh if you want to) and it helps to mix your meringue steadily on a slow or a medium speed. The end product is worth the struggle imo. Also make it in small batches (and without coloring) for your first tries (weigh 1 egg white and proportion the rest of the ingredients according to that)

My school tried doing this, expect your were only allowed 2 bathroom breaks for each class. For the entire year. And that doesn't exactly work for girls in middle... Thankfully enough none of the teachers of the classes I had followed the rule after a days maybe weeks of it being put it in place
