thank you for the video looking for a switch with multiple sfp+ ports for my network and you convinced me on these for sure!!! also if you dont mind what brand and type is that blue 1u server under the switch in your rack? my favorite color is blue if i could get one of them in my rack i would be ecstatic!!!
Thanks for watching! I love the Brocade 6610! It is still in use today! The 1U server is a Wiwynn Lyra. It's an Ivy Bridge era 1U server that has 8x2.5" bays and two PCIe x16 slots for expansion.
Hi and thanks for watching! You should be able to use all four QSFP+ ports for connecting to your servers. Only two of the four ports are 4x10GbE break out capable though so keep that in mind. I am working on expansion of the 40GbE network and will be doing a video covering this soon.
Thanks for watching! I am still using this switch in the rack, but haven't setup vlans yet. I have a pretty simple network setup at the moment. I definitely want to consider vlans, but it hasn't been a top priority item just yet.
Thanks for watching! Because the 2.5Gbe standard is newer than this switch, this switch only supports 1Gb or 10Gb over SFP+. That said, you could potentially build a router that bridges between 2.5Gb and 10Gb. I'm going to be looking to this sort of setup this year. I just need to decide on a build. I will be getting a video out on that at some point so stay tuned!
MUST HAVE VIDEO! Using it right now, PERFECT 👍😀💚

Did you try moving there aux fan with the E label to the slot on the left?
I definitely need to open mine up and clean it out. I can look at the fan at that time. Good tip!

how do you add aux fan? video link here pls ;)
Hey Tinker, what Program did you use instead of Putty?
Hi Gustavo! Thanks for watching! I used Tera Term instead of Putty for the Brocade. Give that a shot and let me know if it works!
are you still using this switch in your rack? wondering if you decided to setup vlans or not.

Good video
Thanks for watching!
Hey @8:12 what screws did you use to attach teh ICX6610 to your server?
Does 2.5g work on it?

@@tinkersmusings lovely. A firmware that did 2.5 and 5gbs would be nice, but you can't win all of them. I may pick one up as the price is right

I'll take two, please.
