    More Phish!

Phish fans are very loyal - react to their stuff, and they’ll come lol
Edit - while Phish is still touring, they were formed in 1983, so they’re not exactly “recent”. Their influences are Frank Zappa, Grateful Dead, Talking Heads, Pink Floyd, and Sly and the Family Stone.
This particular recording is from 2020 and is one of the first studio tracks that pretty accurately reflects what their live jams are like. Just wait until you watch them improvise live on stage.

Phish formed in 1983 at the U of Vermont, where I attended school just 4 years later. I even lived in the same dorm complex where Mike and Trey met, Wing-Davis-Wilkes. ... They were still playing various dorms in the late 80s, but I didn't know who they were yet. My favorite music in high school was Billy Joel, Queen, Floyd, Beatles, Stones, ACDC, Van Halen, etc. I had seen a Phish poster on a pole in 1987, but who knew?? I started listening in 1990. It was probably Junta and a 1989 show at the Paradise in Boston. Saw my first show in 1991 with about 300 people in Barre VT.
I recommend You Enjoy Myself, Run Like an Antelope, Harry Hood, Tweezer/Reprise, Mike's Song, Weekapaug Groove, Esther, Contact, Squirming Coil, David Bowie, Reba, and Down with Disease as a good start, or maybe Harpua, Sanity, or Brother if you're feeling brave. If you stick to, say, 1990-95, they will blow your mind, guaranteed.

Just stumbled upon this channel. Really enjoyed your Pink Floyd reactions (dogs, pigs, sheep especially). Animals is my favorite Floyd album and your astonishment and appreciation to those tunes was awesome to see. Looks like you’re well on your way through their albums, so no Floyd suggestions. Just keep listening. Oh yeah, Phish. Great to see them on here. Couple suggestions for this incredible band (live versions of these songs are recommended. Gives you a better understanding of what this band is capable of): Twezer, Slave to the Traffic Light, Reba, Harry Hood, The Lizards, so many more. Long comment even longer, I’d love to see reactions to Rush. (La Villa Strangiato, Xanadu, YYZ, Subdivisions, Cygnus X1: Book 1, Book 2. Both these bands have incredible catalogs of tunes that are brilliant.

If you are going to do another phish do either Harry Hood from A Live One for just pure joy or the 12.31.95 Punch You In The Eye. Of course there are tons and tons of things to listen to, but those two would be really fun reactions of all time great moments that most phish fans should know.

Nice reaction !! They are an incredible band that has hundreds of good songs and jams. Their peak of their career is in the 1990s but they still are great today and can write great songs like this

Phish is life. Phish is also live. Stay away from their studio work, and only do live performances. That's what they are known for. Jams, improvising. They get on stage and let the music take them to new and interesting places. And they are still touring (I'll be seeing them 8 times this summer), but they have been a group since 1983. Mostly under the radar. But there is a huge group of dedicated fans like myself. I'll send you a couple of links here...

I get what you're saying about album vs live but my journey has found me once seeking out the deep type 2 Jam's to being satisfied with a decent Farmhouse lol that's life!

@@Omegaphats, I love all Phish (most songs anyway). Gotta get the new listeners into the live experience, though! Trust me, I get a little nostalgic when they play Farmhouse at a show that I'm at. Brings me back to when it was fresh and played every other night

@@ScottFree- my introduction was a tape from N Charleston 95. A few shows here and there then Limestone and island tour peak jams for me!
I've just been much more appreciative of their ballads lately Tela , Billy Breathes etc guess it's telling of my poor heart !

@@Omegaphats my favorite part about phish is that we all argue about all sorts of completely subjective things as if there is a truth. live vs studio, hows about both?

Phish has been around for quite a while and are still a viable band and totally worth seeing!!! I am a Deadhead and a Phishhead there is a lot of cross over! Phish used to follow the Dead's tours and play concerts after their shows. I had a lot of friends that would see them after a Dead show! I never liked the apropriate drugs to allow that🤪😂🤣 and after a 4 hour Dead show and 2 or 3 more coming that weekend I never had enough energy for that!!! I have seen Phish many times, So freaking fun!!!❤👍👌 They are a Jam band like the Dead, they really don't sound like them at all!!! The fantastic audience vibe is the same as a Dead show because many were/are Dead Heads!!! Phish's lyrics are mostly nonesense, don't try too hard to figure them out!!! here's a totally fantastic song for you to check out "Down with Disease" it totally rocks!!!👍👌✌😁 ua-cam.com/video/pdSTu0vrYsc/v-deo.html enjoy!!!

Phish - Light from Massachusetts 2016. There is another version that other fans will probably say is better (and that one may be), but someone else reacted to the other one and this one is a killer version

Phish 1.0 lasted till 1999 and then, well, I’m not gonna tell ya, it’s on the interwebs. Yo, I’m from Vermont and Phish Phans are loyal to a fault. They did their “LAST” show in 04’ in Vermont, terribly screwed over all the 1.0 Phans. Trey went to drug court 🤢 for the smack and now Phish 2.0 is sober since they came back in what 2011? Close enough, leaving a whole generation of addicts in the dust. Wtf have they done to give back to the OG Pham, nada, zip, ziltch, zero, that’s Phucked up. Once the patchwork clothes turned into button down shirts it was over, 99 tour. I will not give Phish 2.0 money for a ticket or gas to get there, or a hotel, or revenue to the city they perform in. When you wrong thousands and thousands of Phans that made you relevant and never take responsibility for whatever the Coventry show was, Trey drooling on his guitar and crying like a Phish getting eaten by a mino, I knew it was over and it was pathetic. They should of cancelled that show and they should apologize in a way that suites the OG’s. Until then, they will forever be nothing more than imposters. Oh and Trey, so as you said so famously that you didn’t want this when you were all smacked out, it’s come true, it’s become a circus act. Fix it before it’s too late, not for me, but for your souls, because they night you all left on 4 buses separately as we trampled around in cow manure getting trench foot, the soul of the band has never been the same. They know that. Everything is not always alright, this song annoys the F out of me, I love you Trey, but F U too.
