this level of channel growth is not surprising at all, in the last couple of years there hasn't been anyone with this amazing formating/editing, humor, voice, i mean litteraly everething on this channel is perfect, love your vids and wish you the best bud :)
You’re the first UA-camr I’ve ever actually interacted with and supported, goodness am I grateful for that. You’re extremely warm and fun, honestly your approach to video making is one of my favorites. I hope to see you grow a lot more (not too much too fast, it seems that the spike you had already created some stress), thanks for your work Doodley!
It causes a bit of stress every now and then, but I'm slowly getting used to it. Just a new experience for someone who grew up super introverted. Thank you, glad I could be a good first! I really hope I inspire others in similar ways.
@@doodley3d Just be sure to grow at your own pase. Don't forget that people wants to follow you for who you are. If you start feeling the pressure of expectation, take a step back and remind yourself how you got here in the first place. By being yourself
It's amazing to see how much your channel has grown in such a short amount of time! I really appreciate how you try to be as genuine as possible where it seems like nowadays that's uncommon.
Congrats on making it this far! I agree with you where the public release should be like a "lite" version of the model. Still the same rig and all, just a different version of the model, that way the "real" Gimberly is still in your possession and in your videos. Also remember to take breaks and just do what you wanna do! Trying to always cater to your audience and do what they want is very anxiety inducing, and I think a youtube channel where the creator does what makes them happy is better anyways, so keep that in mind!
Thanks!! I've learned that recently with some of my experiments, just doing what I wanna do seems to work better than anything else I try to deliberately fit the UA-cam space. And thank you for the v2 feedback!
I became a part of this community about 2-3 months after the arms video was uploaded, and I HAVE NEVER LOOKED BACK! I’ve been having lots of fun hanging out in the discord the past year. So happy one year anniversary, my doods!!!
Happy 1 year anniversary dude! It really is surreal seeing the growth of the channel in real time. You deserve all the love and success. Hope to keep making more with you!
Here’s to another great year for Doodley! And many more beyond that. I’m so glad to be a part of this growing community 😁 Also, on the Gimberly V2 model thing, I think maybe releasing the rig with a slightly-different version of the model (like, an “alternate costume” or “alternate style” so to speak) could work best. That’s just my two cents though, you can do whatever you feel is best.
I feel like this channel works because its unapologetically Doodley. Nowhere else can you get this exact type of humor, visuals and lessons. And because of that strong identity everyone can expect that same quality in the future which means if you like one video then there is a very high chance you will like the rest meaning subscribing is super easy. That strong identity is something many channels (myself included) strive for and is only achievable through lots of experience and self actualization. You Doodley are an inspiration and proof that internet animation can still trive on youtube. I thank you

This is an example of how education and skill can skyrocket a channel. Something somebody told me once is that if you want to make it in life, you gotta do something that either other people can't, or other people want, and recently I've seen so many channels that do both do extremely well because the mix of skill. effort and passion in these videos is amazing. About the Gimberly v2 model. I think it would be best to release both! The full model would be good for people who just want to learn how to pose and animate a rigged model while the skeleton Gim would be a great tool in learning how to apply the rigging to a model and animate. Congrats, man! I just found your channel a couple weeks ago and am having fun going through all your videos. They are fun and informative. I'm so glad you are having fun doing the thing you love and giving the rest of us a good time too.
Your voice is cool and soothing. You can explain many thing without any problem and with such simplicity, so that even half-witted people like me can understand what you are talking about. Your style is attractive and fluid. You do what you love to do. I don't think you need any more reason to grow and be successful.
One of the things that made the first Doodley video and every one there after work so well is that it was very helpful and concise. The issue with tutorial videos about complex things like animation is that they are usually long winded and often have personal niche things applied to them that make it hard for other people to follow. But all the things you explained were clear well conveyed and accounted for probability which is everything anyone can want in education. The next thing is you have a WONDERFUL voice, I have a major problem where if a person sounds bad or boring my ADHD forcibly tunes them out, but you have the perfect cadence for a comfortable listen through and keeps me engaged in the content, along with your script writing that keeps feeling exceptionally genuine and not like you're reading off the chalkboard in a high-school history class. Lastly your edits are amazing to look at. Even excluding the 3D animations your windows into references highlighting the topics at hand and your general choices of font visualization and FX keep the video lively and excited to see what comes next. Referencing popular media keeps people engaged and thinking about that thing they watch with a "oooooh yeaaah" moment which is a very big rush of dopamine. All of it becomes a perfect storm of education and entertainment that anyone can enjoy. People looking to get into the industry or people awake at 3AM and just wanted to learn something new. I love your video so much, and glad you are making content!
@@doodley3d Fair enough, I guess I'm not innocent either. If I truncate a quote so it ends in a comma, I place the comma outside the quotation mark in defiance of Big Grammar. Anyway, thanks for the great videos, looking forward to your upcoming one on rigging!
Happy 1 year! I love your way of demonstrating things, and your editing style and way of showing clips is just amazing, and your soundtrack showcase is peak! i cant wait to see the stuff you come up with!
Why I subscribed: you have a great vibe, a clear and deep passion for animation and what you're talking about. I really vibe with that myself. It was actually your videos analyzing animation films that got me to start, the tutorials came later. I'm pretty passionate about the art of animation myself. But as a game dev, I'm hungry for all parts of the art form, which includes animation (though my job sits more on the design and engineering side of things), which is why I started watching your tutorials. Love all the content. You deserve all the success you've achieved!
Same! Not only I agree about how good these videos are, but also because they connected to my work. A year ago, I was just a month into work-working with animations (I was and still am developing animation and character systems in UE, just in a different project) and came across this video when I was looking for fresh material to study IK placement. And what a fresh and enjoyable material it was 💙❤
Also yes, I don't do the animations myself, but I'm working in "equal relationships" (is there such expression?) with art-director and animators/characters designers. And in that time I also make live-references for them (mostly for technical stuff, like timings), so yeah, this is close for me as well 💫
Since I saw your first video for the first time I got in love with your art style and most of all, the way you explain. I'm really looking forward to seeing your growth as a creator and artist. thank you!
Congrats on 1 year Dood! You've become quite an inspiration to me and even made me consider starting to post my own uni work just so that I can share what I've made and look back on in the future
That bit about anxiety is totally relatable, mostly because *The Algorithm* determines what is shown to viewers, so it's really tricky for us as creators to really cater and determine what we need to do. But, keep doing what you're doing, people love it and, more importantly, so do you!
PFFFT, wowwwza! Crazy that it's been a year! Feels like only yesterday when Animating Arms came out, and I first thought it was crazy you didn't have more views and subscribers to start with! So glad I've stuck around ever since to see all the amazing tutorials you've made as well as the reflections onto different animation styles!
Doodley has become one of my favorite channels, to be honest with you! It's chill, educational, yet entertaining and funny all the same! I feel like the "same rig, different model" might work pretty well, as I don't want to see Gimberly, well, *ruined,* but I feel like people might make some funny memes with the model. Happy anniversary, never stop making art! Even if it isn't mainstream, there are plenty of us that appreciate it immensely anyways!
Best of luck for the new trajectory through your life. Also, thanks for consitently including subtitles! It helps a lot for understanding your videos, and media in general, for someone with less than ideal hearing like me
Has it been a year already!? Your channel has grown exponentially since then. I've always enjoyed watching your videos as they're super informative and easy to digest. Not only that but your passion for this continues to inspire me to this day. I can't wait to see what the future holds for your channel. HAPPY 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY DOODLEY! 🎉
I kid you not dude, i quite literally rewatched every single one of your videos yesterday because they are SO GOOODD I love how you use visuals to communicate information and i love the simplicity of the videos. Keep doing what you love because its AWESOME‼️‼️‼️‼️
Being able to have been even just a tiny part of the first year of Doodley was and will always be a massive honor. I am more than excited to see how many more places you reach this second year and I can't wait to find out!
I always watch you FPS video, for me, they are the best! How you beautifully told the difference, with examples and references, it is just mind blowing. I also love animation, which I barely do because of college and other stuffs, but if anyone motivated me, you are one of them! Keep up the good work Doodley!
For me, this channel has been something incredibly special. I found the Arms video in I think.... December, after the Gimberly video came out. Genuinely, the Discord, the Patreon, and especially the videos here have all been amazing, honestly, just hearing about animation topics and... well actual animation from somebody who KNOWS the medium, but isn't trying too hard to be overly simple, it's simply amazing to me. So, cheers to one year of Doodley, and to many more! (Also, for my take on Gimberly V2, release one version with just the structure, and then release another (albeit slightly edited version so it's not the exact same as the videos) with the full model.)
when i first saw your animating arms video, the level of detail and quality was something i expected from a channel with at least 500k subs! its truly amazing what you do and that you love what you do, I hope the doodley channel has more success in future!
Congrats man! You blew up and gre so fast for a reason, and I can't wait to see where you go now. Also, can't lie, a game sounds dope, especially with the art style you showed in the short clip.
I can't believe it's been one year! I remember watching your animating arms tutorial like it was yesterday, I can't wait to see how go forward and I'm so excited to see a successful youtuber not pandering to the algorithm and still being rewarded!
1:24 I think 1. What you’re doing is just so unique in visual style compared to everything else and 2. Your teaching about the very thing that makes your videos slick. Seriously, your avatar is literally proof that your good enough to teach what ur doing
It's awesome seeing your growth and success on here. It's nice to see artists thriving as ARTISTS on here for once, reminds me of old UA-cam. Sharing knowledge is such a simple concept but it takes so much effort to educate new people on a new subject. Appreciate all your hard work on these videos and can't wait to see what you do next!
I found your channel through a short about stop motion animation, and even though I have little interest in animating myself, it's nice to hear other people who know what they're talking about point out tiny details that contribute to shows and movies I enjoy. So thanks for helping me appreciate animation a bit more. I also think it would probably be best to have a default/ plain model for the public version of Gimberly v2, so people could build on top of it, and you cna continue to use Gimberly herself as your unique models.
Good on you mate!! I don’t animate or do art of any sort but I love your content I like learning about animation and how it’s made, you make the videos beginner friendly without taking to us like a noob and the animations you do for said videos are amazing I hope you get to do all of your dreams and have fun while doing it
Your stuff is absolutely inspiring dude, the growth in such a short amount of time must be intimidating but you're exactly the sort of artist I want to be as I develop my craft. Willing to try out new things, make cool art and be generally humble and nurturing to the art/animation community. I can't wait to see the future of your wacky Doodley projects and more of Jayfoo's epic music!
As mentioned on a previous video, I am not an animator nor do I wish to be. That said I am so glad to be along for this ride! I am so proud of you and happy for your success. I love the chilled vibe of your videos and Jayfoo's music is on point! I want to do my homework to his beats.
I know im late to the party on this one but ive been watching your videos for a while now and I have to say that out of all the educational 3d videos iv’e ever seen yours have always been the most entertaining and inspirational videos out there. Congrats dude! So much great stuff on your channel :)
Wahoo
Congrats! Unfortunately, you placed the apostrophe in y'all at the wrong spot at 4:37. Literally unwatchable, unsubscribed.
u right, honestly i've just been spelling it that way my whole life. ohio moment
Your channel just a peace of art, that’s why we love your content 🤩
Best of luck for the new trajectory through your life. Also, thanks for consitently including subtitles! It helps a lot for understanding your videos, and media in general, for someone with less than ideal hearing like me
Has it been a year already!? Your channel has grown exponentially since then. I've always enjoyed watching your videos as they're super informative and easy to digest. Not only that but your passion for this continues to inspire me to this day. I can't wait to see what the future holds for your channel. HAPPY 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY DOODLEY! 🎉
I kid you not dude, i quite literally rewatched every single one of your videos yesterday because they are SO GOOODD
I love how you use visuals to communicate information and i love the simplicity of the videos. Keep doing what you love because its AWESOME‼️‼️‼️‼️
Being able to have been even just a tiny part of the first year of Doodley was and will always be a massive honor. I am more than excited to see how many more places you reach this second year and I can't wait to find out!
YEAH BABY thank YOU dude for the help!!
I am sooo happy I found you. Thank you for your inspiring works and positive vibes!
Been an absolutely amazing year of your content, happy 1 year anniversary of the videos!
Yo sorry that i'm late, but the growth of your channel isn't surprising at all, your work is impressive and you deserve all the love you get!
Ay man, I support your ideas 100%! Your videos have helped my animation tons and I love how chill your vids are, it matches the music.
we love you Doodley! Thank you for helping us animate and giving us a fun time!
Thanks a bunch for the year and the really cool animation tricks! Thanks a bunch for all the content and looking forward to more
when i first saw your animating arms video, the level of detail and quality was something i expected from a channel with at least 500k subs! its truly amazing what you do and that you love what you do, I hope the doodley channel has more success in future!
I subscribed December 10th, 2022. Cool to see how much you’ve done in just a year!
This felt like the most genuine growth update I’ve ever watched. I’m super happy your channel’s growing! You deserve it!
honestly, beyond the great animation and interesting topics, your editing style just looks SO clean. it's sorta like CGP grey but less stiff
That was the first video I saw you ever post, such an amazing video, it's entertaining and teachful!
I know im late to the party on this one but ive been watching your videos for a while now and I have to say that out of all the educational 3d videos iv’e ever seen yours have always been the most entertaining and inspirational videos out there. Im so happy for your growth and I hope to see more of your videos as time passes!
i've watched a couple of videos from you, but man you're so down to earth! never change doodooley :)
This channel has given me tge courage to try out 3d animation and im forever greatful for your hard work, im forever inspired to keep on!!!
I saw your channel, and when I saw your videos, it just made me have the motivation to start animating. Your videos are easy to understand and I love them! I look forward to seeing more of your videos in the future!
