Great job, no lie I was top 15 globally when this came out on Dreamcast doing the time trial. I would play over and over nonstop. Strengthened and mastered all of the moves
For anyone watching this vid and wondering why you're not able to accomplish some of these juggle combos in the 1 & 2 remaster: The remaster's hit-boxes were messed up after some throws, making it impossible to follow up certain grabs (1st hit of Arm Break Fire, or the armbar hold) with specific follow up attacks. Kenjito here is playing an emulated version of Shenmue with the untouched fighting system intact. I found out the hard way through another video that most of the combo juggles that can be done in the remastered version of Shenmue 1 can only be accomplished by doing the Dodge Crouch > Arm Grab Punch counter. There's still a few ways to get cool combos in the remaster, but losing access to starting them with normal grabs makes it harder.
3:53 - - I didn't know about that spinning animation, from the enemies! And this video proofs that there needs to be a hack (especially for Shenmue 2), to be able to play with other characters in multi-player mode, including being able to import from 1 to 2 (Fuku-san; Guizhang; Chai...) Alongside Virtua Fighter 2; Fighters Megamix; Soul Edge; Soul Calibur 1; Waku-Waku 7; Street-Fighter Alpha 3 and Capcom vs. SNK 1, both games have my favourite fighting-mechanics.
He did the shadow blade and maybe even shadow step arm break fire all the different inputs the different counters the different blocks and parry and grab breaks and knows all the moves grabs random strings that aren't listed and the special block thing where Ryu blocks certain attacks and you see an animation from Ryu as he blocks it with one slap and smoke comes the contact (or maybe the smoke thing was only from blocking in shenmue 2 )
I played this game so much I never thought to look on UA-cam and see if anybody else learned the unlisted moves and other stuff like blocking parrying and all the moves that can be inputed like strings
The first time I've got in there I thought... Whoa whoa, will that stop at any time? But I the end the battle against the "fat boy" in the second part takes even more skills :) looking forward to replay on my ps4... And play shenmue 3 of course. The new teaser (for the survey) looks actually really good :) I hope it'll do well on sales so Yu Suzuki will get the chance to make a final shenmue 4 :)
Thank you! To be honest, I've never beaten Shenmue that much. Only about 5 times I think (mostly due to no function to skip cutscenes). It's the 70 man battle and other FREE battles that I spend countless hours on lol.
You're the only other person I've seen that actually figured out the fighting system in this game besides me, lol! All the other videos I've seen is people button mashing and it is cringey has hell.
The combat in the original was actually pretty damn rewarding once you got the hang of it. The combos especially make you feel like a badass. Unfortunately, the FREE battles were few and far between and the wonky camera angles made things frustrating at times. With exception of the 70 man battle, there just isn't enough fighting in this game. Also, it kind of sucks that they neutered the parry/counterattack mechanic in Shenmue II.
Ariel Moll Ikr? It's amazing what's actually possible in this game! You just have to master the combat just like in any fighting game and you'll be able to pull off badass combos like that! It has always impressed me.
I don't know why but this game is really weird some times, when I parry, I try to use grabs like Arm Break but Ryo just unlock the enemy and grabs the air and let me vulnerable to enemies attacks, parries in this game is weird because Ryo's position after parry is different and irregular and most yours attacks won't aim to the enemy
Too sad, this is probably the closest we will ever come to getting the full Saga. If the bad Kickstarter had kept it's promises maybe there would have been an incentive to get the rest of the series.
The prizes for the campaign Slacker Backers as well as Funding for Tiers, The Votes that would be decisive in making decisions such as character traits, Play mechanics for access beta, design detail decisions, and Updates for customized story outcome.
Brandon Kilgore As Shane said the release date was always provisional, it was obvious that they would always struggle to make hit the original release date with such an ambitious game on the budget they have
Not really a "combo" when you're just knocking dead bodies around lmfao... Those "combos" wouldn't work so well against opponents with a normal health gauge...
A pleasure to see someone actually making the most of the combat system rather than mashing the shit out of the controller :D
Like me 😂🤣
lolol
Note to players that don't know. Your moves strengthen and perform differently if practiced constantly. Its really BADASS!
Lmao your comment is why I'm on my new save rn
Yep. Go to the Dojo often. I've beat all 70 without so much as a punch
Thanks for the opportunity to collaborate with you! It was a pleasure to help the Original Shenmue Resource Channel.
How you guys crouch? I didnt know u could that till i saw your videos
@@matthewlugo2417 Ryo crouches when you encounter an incoming attack and press either Y (Xbox One) or Triangle (PS4) to parry the attack.
do you still have your longplays of this game? id love to watch them
Great job, no lie I was top 15 globally when this came out on Dreamcast doing the time trial. I would play over and over nonstop. Strengthened and mastered all of the moves
Some great fighting skills here, Ryo is badass

3:52 DAYUM!!!!
Like a boss
Combos like that are what make me keep practicing lol
You're a god. Some moves I've never even seen!
The Donguri of Shenmue. Phenomenal work!
Great video! Gotta break out Shenmue again, the 70-man battle is always a fun challenge.
expert level plays here, simply astounding
Dude its like watching a movie fight scene
Such awesome moves! I wish I was this good at fighting....
OUTSTANDING.

God the moves are so well executed. I wish i could master it at like at least 50% of your level lol 😂
I played this game so much I never thought to look on UA-cam and see if anybody else learned the unlisted moves and other stuff like blocking parrying and all the moves that can be inputed like strings
2:03 was smooth as fuck.

God Level.
So this is the Ryo's true power. I ll never be able to do those combos. Amazing skill Kenjito! How many times did you beat this game?

I will buy a whole Dreamcast just to play this again
Never gets old.
02:15 fantastic!!!
It’s great seeing other shenmue fans
Really great fights!
How are you able to dodge and parry so easily?? lol
That's what I said
You remember the Four Wude.
I forgot about this classic fight scene.
Man this is so nostalgic.

It's would be dope to see him on Virtual fighters 7
May not have ranked in but you ranked up some ass kickings!
Nice! Time to pull out the dreamcast and get Ryo in that car park :)
Nice move!
I defeated them all with tornado kick!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Expert shenmue player
This fight is epic ...
Beautiful combos 👏👏👏
Damn!!! That was good!!
I can see him in Tekken
You mean Virtua Fighter
@@shishioh as a guest character I mean lol
Great fighting
Just wow u have also Shenmue 2 combo highlights?
I do in my "Shenmue 3 Hype" videos but I don't think my Shenmue 2 combos are that impressive.
That was great!
Wait, you can fight like that?!

I missed it. Who's playing this time? Guy is wrecking them.
The only other game in history that came close to this was Sleeping Dogs in my opinion.
Not one Darkside Hazuki?? 😢
Is he really a high school student? 🤣
Ryu makes the Karate Kid look like an amateur
He must have gotten in a lotta fights and practiced with his dad a lot
Well shit,
I thought I was pretty good.
Good thing you weren't a boss.
Shenmue 3 really fucked up the fighting system ... :(
AAA

Keep bitching. The rest of us will be enjoying Shenmue III before too long.
What promises did they break like the 2017 release was always tentative

No thanks, I'll be enjoying the game hopefully as well. But I won't pretend that the date of release isn't changed 3 times.
