    Now this is what really goes on in the booth! Not that UA-cam painting were everything goes as planned. As a painter I know It’s always something on every job. Rarely do we get that perfect one that goes as planned. 😂 I like your style!

      Hi, im glad you like it. Can you please explain for me, what that "obs gun" means? I liked to answer your question, but sitting here and can't get any clue how! 😄 My english is not goo enaugh.

      @auto_premium_latvia yes I thought you was using the iwata series 2 obs spray gun. The obs version is made for water based base coats or wet on wet applications. Was just wondering how the clear coat looked when you had finished. Sorry if I got it wrong and it wasn't the series 2 iwata.

      Yes it is the series 2 Iwata. Im a Sata guy and i bouth this Iwata for Glasurit 100 line because this Iwata works much better for it. And always with the big panels are some strugle to get them look nice because of the exces air and material that flows around the panel. So since the Iwata has much more smaler "drop" that comes out, i decidet to experiment with this gun and the result was fantastic. Much more rounder top of the clearcoat peel. For smal cars it would be to flat, but in this case i got much more better result. Got friday also Iwata clear gun, but still waiting adaptors for pps cups. Im to lasy to spend my time to wash the original cup.

    Is this a good gun 🔫 for base coat paint and whats the difference between this one and the green cap 1 3 ET ENTECH

      This is a good gun, and the others that i use the SATA guns also are good. This Iwata sprayes out the paint in smaller "drops" so it is possible to get the paint faster flat wet on the part. The Sata guns are more rougher when comparing to Iwata. It is some kinda lifestyle what guns to use. I like Sata, but Iwata is the best for Glasurit 100 line, that's the reason i hawe it.

    I see you are not using the M5 as a wet bed for the blend areas. I was told to coat the whole panel before i could blend. Please explain how you’re achieving blends without this step. Thanks.
    PS I am very new to the 100 line, just switched from R&M solvent.

      Hi. Thank's for the question. And one small correction- M50, not M5. This was the third car i painted with the 100 line, and im playing with the options how to blend in without the wet M50 bed in the blend in areas. I recomend You NOT to try this on a silver, or any other light color, also some of the dark greys like LR7X on the VW. They can be prety cloudy. On this ford i did it with a lowered pressure on the blend in area (only because it was a darker color) and it did work. Also the need to coat the wholee panel with M50 is a waste of material in my opinnion, but helps to awoid any prep marks in the color, like usualy there are some sandpaper marks on the primer-filler if You are using P320 or P400 on a block to get the right shape of panel. Another option how to get it done is- after you coated the repair are with the color, You can mix the color with M50 1:1 and blend it in where You need with a 1.2-1.5bar pressure. Of course this method will be hard on a whole door, but on the C or D pillars that can help a lot. I used this methot with the Glasurit 90 line. It worked wery well on the blend in spots and also with this methot i made the effect coat's (Glasurit 90 line) with 1.0-1.2 bar pressure on the colors if i saw, that i will make a cloudy look. Also when i had the RM solvent base, i aded the base additive almost 1:1 on the suspicious colors for effect coat to get them smooth. Jesss, can talk about his for weeks :D

      One more thing, probably You already know it- use the IWATA. Im a SATA fan, but the 100 line works great only with the IWATA. Maybee with some Devilbiss also.

    Won't there be a dark line in the mid door gap since you used it as a stopping point?

    • @auto_premium_latvia
      @auto_premium_latvia  4 місяці тому

      Nope, since the color is stil wet till the effect coat goes on, it's just fine. It came out wery smooth.

    9ices finish but why are you using this base coat gun for Clear coat??

    • @auto_premium_latvia
      @auto_premium_latvia  Місяць тому

      Because any IWATA sprays smoother and the surface of clear is flatter, especialy when clearcoating buses. With Sata it would be a pain because of the big airflow and owespray on the fresh clearcoated part. And other reason is- the IWATA clear gun was not delivered at that moment. And who said that with the IWATA basecoat gun you can't spray clear :D No clearcoat was hurt in this video.

      There is no iwata hvlp, but sata hvlp. And the glasurit technition says that iwata ws400 series 2 basecoat gun is a perfect gun for it. Also other iwata guns are good for glasurit 100 line because of its specific way how iwatas spray the material.
