The Ins button on the console means Insert NOT Instruments just so you know . Inserts are used for external processing units such as compressors, Gates, Limiters. On most consoles Inserts are a single 1/4 inch that is both an input AND an output for you to use with aforementioned processors. The ins button on the Midas Verona activates that insertion circuit so you can use it to check before processing and after which is quite useful to make those auditory judgements for mixing .The Midas Verona is mainly used as a Front-Of-House console to mix for the audience in contrast to the Sienna which is the Stage Monitor console counterpart of this mixing board .
