I'm originally from the middle East and it's incredible how much this video reminds me of the villages around my home town. The heat coming out of the earth even after the sun had set. Scorched earth, scorched countries. The soft colours of the sunset here are different from the sunset of colder countries like Canada where Charlie drove in the sunset time too. Thank you X

I’m from Tijuana, been driving here for years and never been in danger, there might be some road rage incidents but lucky for me I’m a tall guy and I practice boxing, that’s kept me out of some situations, but If you’re from the US or Europe I can understand your concern.

Just for people saying he’s “very brave” to come to Tijuana, no mean to disrespect my boy here but if you stay clean and out of trouble your chances of being a target for a cartel are nearly zero. There’s some petty crime here but if you’re driving the chances you’ll fall victim to them are way lower. I’m from Tijuana, I’ve been driving for some years now and never felt threatened, there are some road rage incidents like everywhere but luckily for me I’m a tall guy and I practice boxing, that’s taken me out of one or two situations, the hoods look kinda eerie though, specially for someone from US/Canada, Europe, Australia/NZ, JP, SK etc, but most of them are safe.

Man, im from Tijuana and i couldn't make up where you were. Problem here is that there's a bunch of colonias where roads are just a maze to get around and you may get yourself in a dead end that the GPS don't recognize. I only knew about that taxi at the end which would of been a big relief to see. I would NOT go there myself lol. Thanks for the footage my man

@gugulbece180 Guatemala and Honduras is far far more dangerous than Mexico. The crimes you described in Mexico are cartel related and so if you are not a gang member you won't have to worry about this. The difference between Mexico and Honduras or Guatemala is that there is more petty crime in Honduras/Guatemala than Mexico. So you are more like to be a victim in Honduras/Guatemala. This is for the average non gang member person. If you are a gang member then yes Mexico is much more dangerous.
@@gugulbece180 To behead someone and lay their body out on display on the side walk or hang them off of an overpass, it takes a level of ORGANIZATION. It's ORGANIZED crime more times than not. The gangs in Guatemala and Honduras aren't doing all that. They will kill you on site over nothing. Of course the drug cartels in Mexico are more resourceful with the capacity to do more but that doesn't make it more dangerous for the normal civilian.
I actually meant to get there during daylight. Didn’t know the traffic to cross the border was that bad. I almost turned around in the lane for U turns I was lost the whole time . That part where I turned around I didn’t know where that road was leading or if it was even a road lol. So far Juarez looks worse to me but I only saw a small part of Tijuana and it was dark. I always like to go to a place in the daytime first to get a feel for the place. Juarez seem more poor and hood. Tijuana seem more fast paced and glitzy for Mexico lol. Police was everywhere I have a little more night footage, I might go back to get some daytime footage since I’m house sitting in LA for a few days.

I helped build a church in Tecate 20 years ago. Rancho de ses ninos. What stood out the most was seeing how poor people are but everyone dressed sharp and no garbage nowhere. A saw houses with pallet fences and house’s made of pallets. Throwing wires over the power lines and stealing electricity. Live wires on the ground and people tapping into it, tripped me out. Lady sweeping her dirt floor. I was impressed by their pride.

Some parts of the city look very identical to Tijuana or Mexicali even down to some road conditions, some neighborhoods in LA don’t have paved sidewalks just like TJ. The level of crime cannot compare though, plus how unpredictable Tijuana can be is what makes it one of the most dangerous cities in the world.

If you ever go to the Mexicali hoods, you should compare it to Tijuana since they are pretty close
I love it. I'm curious what neighborhoods you visited? I recommend Zona Norte, sanchez taboada and East Tijuana. That's where the most crime is.

@@Ffollies I’ll say maybe LA in some regards looks grimier with all the homeless encampments, trash, graffiti. Some parts of the city look very identical to Tijuana or Mexicali even down to some road conditions, some neighborhoods in LA don’t have paved sidewalks just like TJ. The level of crime cannot compare though, plus how unpredictable Tijuana can be is what makes it one of the most dangerous cities in the world.
