Learn the Crochet Fan Lace Stitch
This is a deceptively easy pattern to learn. Only a 4 row repeat that is super easy to memorize.
This video includes review of the chart as well as the step by step instructions. Lastly at the end of the video learn several different ways to style this beautiful lacy summer shawl.
This shawl is made in a fingering weight yarn with a J 6.00mm hook or a K 6.5mm hook.
You could, however, make this shawl in ANY weight yarn with ANY size hook.

I’m excited to try this. I bought lace weight yarn in all the colors and I use 2 strands at a time to slowly switch colors. Ie 2 blue to 1 blue and 1 green to 2 green and I’ve been waiting to use my beach, ocean colors. From the blues to the browns, the pattern tells the story. Waves, shells, beautiful.

I don’t usually look at a chart as I can’t read them but it helped me understand the concept much earlier in the process so any mistakes became obvious as I did it. I just found you because of this gorgeous pattern but I’m going to check out others because I really like your teaching style. Thank you for that.

Hi Kris, I’ve started my Ocean Waves shawl. May I ask how many rows you made? I’m using a thicker weight yarn so I hope mine has the same beautiful drape that yours has. Can’t wait to finish it. Thank you for all the time you spend teaching us how to make these beautiful designs. 🤗
Sorry to reply late. I did 12 total repeats of the pattern, so that's 12 x 4 rows = 48 rows all together. I think it is 20" tall. You might do less rows to get the same size since you're using worsted weight yarn. Let me know how many you did.
@@LightandJoyDesigns I had 9 repeated sets x 4 is 36 rows. I used the medium weight yarn. I wonder how it would turn out using buiky yarn? Thanks again!
I think it would be really cool to try it in bulky yarn! Maybe wool ease thick and quick or similar.
