Just here to say thank you, got up and made my sister and I lattes this morning, caught her totally by surprise, she loved it. Tasted great, thanks a ton
@@Matt_Hil @5:24 looks almost like instant espresso grounds, but remember this is like TV land - sometimes things are done specifically in a different way because it translates to better viewing.
I got myself a Moka pot for a strong brew and I also got me one of them frothers (small cafetiere with a dual mesh that goes all the way down, essentially optimized for frothing milk) - gonna try your method, just with different kit. Can't wait! Started grinding fresh beans just before brewing - the difference it makes is fantastic!
I'm 53 and tried my first "fancy coffee" 3 weeks ago...it was a cafe latte. I regret that I can't get those wasted years back. I watched a dozen at-home latte videos and liked yours best. I settled on this as the perfect method. It's simple, elegant, affordable, and satisfying. Thank you!!
I normally refrain from negative comments But today I'll make an exception. Sorry, I don't believe you. I can tell the difference between French press coffee and a pulled shot.
It’s even poorly edited. If you watch closely when he pours the milk, in some scenes the top is on and in some others the top is off. You can tell there that he steamed the milk with an espresso machine
i have a few questions (sorry if my english is quite bad) 1- your “espresso” that you made using the press look so watery but then when it comes to the end, it look thick and have crema on it. how do you get the crema using the press? 2- what about the temperature of the milk when u heat it using the microwave for a minute? i dont think it reaches 63-67 celsius 3- look at minute 5:30 you take off the plunger and at 5:35 the plunger is there. how?
Video editing click baity tutorial. Crema appeared from no where. That too after 1-1.5 minutes after pouring in the cup while the milk was heating. It's a miracle. 😏
Right, what the heck. I gave him the benefit of the doubt thinking maybe it's a whole bean espresso roast and he's about to grind it. But then he scooped out espresso ground coffee and I was like 0_0 nooooo lol
I guess it helped that he only poured off the top layer and wasted the rest... So if he didn't plunge it down all the way and he left it long enough he might have avoided the sediment a bit like in a Turkish coffee... Still seems like a bad idea
You guys don't seem to know how to make Good coffee if you find this unbelievable. Yes you still get crema (wth??) from high quality beans extracted at the right temp, for the right amount of time (Bloom and brew) at the right grind size I'd recommend experimenting more instead of following instructions.
I really like this little tutorial, I hve been using a French press since 2008 and it makes the best coffee[pour over is great aswell]. I use a hot coal and an unborn unicorn baby to kindle the pot to a perfect temperature. Then I use the bones of my enemies to stir the coffee perfectly. Gr8 video mate.
I have read some of the comments below so thought I would try it myself and leave another comment about my own experience. I have just tried it myself. it definitely works, amazing I have never seen so much froth.... thanks again.
Foam with a French press is pretty neat (and cheap) But if you’re wanting cheap espresso I would recommend a moka pot, it will be the closest you can get without buying an espresso machine.
Yes, there's a moka in every Italian home. Although I passed to the pod machine now, it's way faster and more convenient (not nespresso though, Lavazza does these kind of machines too).
sorry for my english but gotta ask 1 thing. as far as i know Espresso losses this crema color if you let it stay for a while. so you finished the espresso then waited 1 minute for the microwave then you pumped the milk or what ever you did there and the black espresso becomes beautiful crema as you just made it a minute ago from an espresso mashine. Am i wrong?
It's mostly fake due to movie magic. I for one heat up the milk while the espresso is brewing, serve the shot, rinse my press, then throw in the milk. Gotta be quick af which is not easy when using one press and it will never be as good as an espresso machine, but don't let that stop you attempting this
I think I watched too much James Hoffmann, because I was like “why he doesn’t grind coffee beans, why he isn’t using a scale, why he isn’t using a timer?” :D I prefer clear metric measurements

At one point your pouring the milk with the lid of the french press on and then at another point just after your still pouring and yet its not on anymore
Is there a significant loss of quality in espresso using French press versus machine. I’ve heard that if the espresso looks like black coffee, then it isn’t extracted correctly.
I just found a new french press at a second hand store! No microwave tho..I can warm it on the coffee maker as it is shite for brewing. Hence my new mode of making coffee..thanx I do love my lattes!

How did your coffee look so nice and creamy even though you let it sit out for so long? Usually you have to serve the coffee within 30/50 seconds otherwise it will go bad.
