I have the same pots "Fagor", made in China. My set came with one frying pan, two handles four pots with tops and nesting together. I got them at a boat show twenty years ago.
Nesting pans with lids, you need Tower Freedom, I use them on my boat non stick with lids and work on induction hobs. Mine were about £35 a couple of years ago, gone up a bit since then but worth every penny! Love you videos guys
Thanks Guys - love your videos -we are about a year behind you in prep for traveling. I have to tell ya - I have just finished polishing my boat and putting on Gtechniq - panel wiped - base and top coat - and shew she shines and is so smooth after watching your tips.. So thanks for the tips.. Cheers
Always a pleasure to watch a professional sailing UA-cam series (info not bikinis). Great and useful tech. These surface water "drones" are really coming along (in terms of usefulness). Thanks for all of your gadget updates! Fair WInds ... Fail Isle.
Hi both, firstly thanks for all the videos, helped me get through a period of ill health when I couldn’t get out sailing, so they made a real difference. Just caught up with this video and @Steve’s recommendation of the Nimbot thermal printer (which to be fair looks great and cheap). I saw you use it to label a lot of SD video cards etc - not a good move! They will all go blank after a while! Unfortunately all thermal printers have a severe limitation - the labels will all fade after 6 months - less in hot (engine room) or sunny (UV) environments. You can only use them for temporary items (like envelopes) - I learned the hard way!! For my fly tying channel I use a Dymo Label Manager - a little more expensive but it works on a permanent ink transfer system and you can get different inks (red/white/black) and different tapes (also red/white/black) according to your need. I’ve now used one for 5+ years. Good sailing! Stuart.
I’m sure you’re right in full sun, the ones on my windlass (from a different printer) have faded colour after 7 years but you can still read them. So far everything done with the Nimbot (after 2 years) is still perfect :)
Thanks for vid guys - v informative as always - i used the garmin inreach when crossing the Pacific Ocean last year and south Atlantic this year to keep in contact with family as it wasnt my boat i was on - it works great - for short texts and emails with no pics or attachments - also i used the weather info and compared it to our sat data or predict wind and it wasnt bad at all but it is limited in information and wod use grib files for long passages for nav routing - and yes the flexible pk allows you close plan and open again when needed but you pay a premium - but i loved it - and simple to use and never let me down.
My number 1 'Great Thing' to have on my boat is RONXS Electric Lighter Rechargeable Arc USB. It replaces those hand gas lighters than always run out just s you need it! This is USB rechargeable! As with Christian Williams & Patrick Laine, I would like to submit this item for Item of the Century!! All the best Richard
I have had a set of the non-stick Tefal pans. I bought a couple of handles. One issue I have found is that after a while the handles do not release properly and can get stuck to the edge of the pan. Its more annoying when you want to attach them to the pans and can't get the handle to open. I have opened the handles up and its a nice little mechanism inside but its not obvious why they stick.
Another great informative video guys, some really useful additions you have aquired, keep up the good work. I have the ingenio set with lots of lids and they fold flat too, glass with rubber edges so perfect for on boat 😊
Hi Guys. Thanks for the ideas. With regards to lids, Tefal themselves offer a range of glass lids specific for the Ingenio pans (16, 18, and 20 cm) and also "hermetic lids". And I'm guessing the standard Tefal range of glass lids - available in a wide range of sizes - will also work.
Looking forward to see how you get on with the Orca - they're really pushing this new display, and I must say it's very tempting as our plotter is an ancient Garmin, and I can't quite justify the expense of Raymarine, B&G etc. Wish they'd reconsider the company name - porpoise or narwhal perhaps!?
A cheaper alternative for the inreach will be the motorola defy satellite link. Supposed to come onto the market in April and device and payment plans will be much cheaper.
Hi Steve and Judy, I have been trying to get a labeller since we arrived here. Do you have the amazon link for that one? We need to label!! Thanks, Christine
Hi Chrissy, yes I got it from Amazon in the UK last year, here’s the link; Vetbuosa D11 Bluetooth Wireless... www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09LHMF489?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
That looks like fun it almost looks like a bird. But I would watch it if toothy critters are around. That zipping around on surface will invite a big bite. You might be trying to out run your toothy predators. Have a net ready to grab it fast. Or you might have some tooth marks on it.
It's my favorite fleece I've been wearing it solidly for 2 years since I found it in a little shop near Lake Garda when we wintered in Venice. This is their website... scuola nautica sottozero but I can't see it on there, shame as I'd like another one, this one is wearing out!
I love these videos. Gives me ideas for my own cruising lifestyle. I watch a popular guy who does reviews of amazon products, and he gets about a million views each video. Crazy! Maybe Fair Isle is on to something.
@@svfairisle it brings me to a Europe sale site in euros. If I go to USA site, it is 749 us for the fanciest. Is that the same with your code? If I decide to buy, how do get the credit or commission of whatever?
I'm afraid I've given up doing that as prices around the world seem to vary and there are so many deals to be had that I get too many comments with people not being able to buy things at the same prices. best thing is to do a Google search which will automatically give you a prices for where you live.
Try Readly, with our link you can get 2 months free, which can be cancelled at any time: readly.com/sailingfairisle
Not available in Canada or USA
Thank you for recommending the Nimbot. I purchased one and haven't stopped using it. Nice tool.
I have the same pots "Fagor", made in China. My set came with one frying pan, two handles four pots with tops and nesting together. I got them at a boat show twenty years ago.
I'm very interested in your review of the Garmin In Reach. Your reviews are concise, accurate and entertaining...thanks!

I have a first generation inreach.. Works impeccably. Twice crossed the Atlantic with it

Glad you like it, it's working well for us too... good job it's too expensive to not work!
Love useful gadget reviews by people who use them! I took some notes! Thanks for posting!

Got what looks like being a very interesting waterproof drone review coming up

Outstanding!
Amaz U.K. also has universal lids which are good quality and fit the tefal set

The Inreach mini also has an SOS button which to me is the the most important function. Best place to attach is on my life jacket.
Such a fascinating episode. Thanks! And now I'm very excited about your forthcoming video of Judy catching *lots* of fish . . . 👍🤞🤣
She can’t do much worse than me!
Tefal do non stick pans with lids that look like the black frying pans you have, same removable handles.
I have had a set of the non-stick Tefal pans. I bought a couple of handles. One issue I have found is that after a while the handles do not release properly and can get stuck to the edge of the pan. I have the same issue with one of my handles. Annoying

That dolphin would be nice to look at my anchor set

I can recommend Readly, using it for years now… also German Magazines. The Risk is, it is so much!!!
We bought them for our boat from amaz U.K. and the set came with lids
I like these last time I got some goods stuff from this.👍❤️
That dolphin looks super cool. Do they offer it with shark insurance 😂

I would suggest silicon lids for your pots and pans :)
A cheaper alternative for the inreach will be the motorola defy satellite link. Supposed to come onto the market in April and device and payment plans will be much cheaper.
Sounds cool we will check it out
Hi my lovers I have the same set and they came with lids and the handles are spring loaded and fold down
Wow lucky you

Could you use the Dolphin for checking on how the anchor is set or looking along the waterline, rudder and props?
Yes but the Power ray is probably better for that... ua-cam.com/video/p9poGvHWsrY/v-deo.html
Lekker man lekker 🇿🇦
lekker lekker fire cracker - quite fine red wine..
You’re back! 😂

Thanks for the informative video! We saw you still have the Acuva, we bought one recently, are you still happy with yours?
All the best
Yes it’s performed flawlessly so can’t say fairer than that
@@svfairisle Thanks that is great to hear. We bought it via your code and can't wait to install it
700th! glad to be such a round number!
I quite like the fleece? you were wearing at 3:40 does it have a brand name.

I don't think you can read downloaded magazines unless you're online!
You download them while your online for offline use of course.
I'd be playing with dolphin all day
Where is the link for the garmin device and plans?
We don't have one yet, I think Catherine bought hers in the US
Great video BTW: I love the saucepans and Nimbot and will give Readly a go. Which version of Nimbot do you have, is it the D11?
yes it's the D11

@@svfairisle you just made me spill my coffee. 😆 🤣
Do you have a discount code link for the Dolphin that works in US of A?
Does the one in the description not work for you?
