As a kashmiri muslim I'm equally hurt and depleted as you are. These innocent killings can never be justified and the people behind these killings can never be categorised as humans. I used to travel 100 kms all the way from north kashmir to srinagar to buy medicine only on Bindroos shop because it was and is the only shop selling authentic medicine in whole of kashmir. Killings him and all others you can understand the motive of these people... How they want to supress the health, economy, development, peace and prosperity of kashmir.
But soon we will be out of this as my kashmir is changing for the best.

Bisbo has done some excellent work bringing this to light. He is correct. There is a need for immediate steps to be taken to sensitively protect the kashmiri pandit. It's a travesty.

I just came back from a trip to Srinagar. I had no idea how deeply this area is rooted to Hinduism. I saw a lot of Vishnu bhagwaan idols (7-10 AD) in local museums which came from Srinagar and around. Muslims came quite late in this region with the onset of Mughal rule.

As a kashmiri hindu I wanna say this, My grandparents always told me there was a lot of communal harmony in kashmir in olden times, which is still known as kashmiriyat. In 89-90 freedom movement gained momentum in kashmir and kashmiri pandits and muslim govt workers were termed as mukhbirs. The extremists saw presence of KPs in valley as a presence of india, hence a threat to their freedom movement. So a war against india synonymously became a war against non muslims(coz obviously all hindus and Sikhs would side with india).
Even right now similar pattern is seen. Those in favour of freedom see presence of non muslims as an attempt for demographic change and saffronisation of kashmir. Just observe they only kill non muslims working and settled over there, not non Muslim tourists. They don't even leave muslims who are working with govt or army.
So basically I wanted to say, don't consider all kashmiri muslims to be religious extremists and anti hindu, even my grandparents say kashmiri muslims are far better than those in the rest of the country(no offense intended). The muslims involved in anti hindu activities are the ones involved in fighting for freedom

@@tkpatwari Yes I too have Kashmiri Family, My nanaji served in Kashmir military, he told us about the extremism was more of Anti- India sentiments but it was certainly backed by Anti-Hindu sentiments (including other non Muslims like Sikhs, Buddhists, Christians etc) and I do agree Kashmiri Muslims who support India are more trustable than whole Muslim community of India, example is Bengali Muslims another violent community which is never spoken of and since I am in WB, I have mentioned it

Killing of 217people(Home Ministry,GOI) from 1988 to 1991 or 399 people(KP Sangharsh Samiti) from 1990-2008 out of a population of 124,078 people(1981 Kashmir census) isn't called a genocide. They're called killings and it is called exodus/mass migration.

Most Muslims in the Valley love the Pandits since the former are recent converts from Kashmiri Hindus and share all except religion. Modi does not want to act. All Kashmiri Pandits who are now living outside Kashmir can be located in geographically secure regions of the Valley and given physical and economical support. Since they are often well-built they can be provided armed training as well. There are outside and internal forces who are keen to prevent the return of the Pandits. We have the manpower if we use this cleverly Kashmir will blossom as a region of Bharat and both the Muslims of the Valley and their Pandit brethren flourish. Note how Mr, Putin an extraordinary leader liquidated all the terrorists in Chechnya, yet Mr Putin loves genuinely all peace-loving Chechens. The impact the Chechens are now fighting for their beloved Russia against Ukraine with great zest. Who's gonna talk about Jammu Udhampur and adjoining places where many atrocities like killings shown in Kashmir files had happened.... What about Jammu files.... what about Jammu people who have to justify their existence as Indian to people of other states.... people who have always supported their nationality than any other cause.... We were the one who stood against kashmiri leaders during amarnath base camp crisis (2008) and we were the one who got killed in skirmish between kashmiri jihad and exodus.....
