Fun fact: David Lee Roth was and still is into Martial Arts. Can dance and sing with spinning swords. Check out the song "Panama" from Van Halen. Its one of my favorites from them.
A lot of people had a problem with his singing and tone, saying he sucked. When I read his autobiography documentary, it said he grew up in Indiana. Well, in my opinion, coming from there and going to sing in Van Halen, that was a big deal. This is what happens when you bring the Midwest and the West together. They weren't that far apart.

Fun fact: Van Hallen was the precursor of "Hair Metal/Glam Rock" which changed the game from just dark, heavy, protest issues to just having a good time while still rocking the place. A lot of crap came out too from then on , and man i mean A LOT
VH 's music was inspired by LA block parties and backyard cookouts that were frequently held within their own neighbourhoods. They were strongly influenced by latino and black soul RnB music. Back in the day Van Halen would tour alongside Kool And The Gang. They considered themselves the other side of that "party music" coin. This is a MEGABAND that defies ALL labels and appeals to almost everyone from every cultural background. Good on ya for checking them out! Lastly, sending out a big warm SHOUT OUT to our dear ol' warrior Eddie who's sadly battling cancer once again ... Hey man! We LOVE you, and we're all wishing you a full, speedy recovery! God bless you all.

I am familiar with the version you speak of, and it is amazing of course. Personally, I still prefer the original studio version from their debut self-titled album released February 10, 1978! My very first concert was their "1980 Invasion" tour in Augusta, GA - I was 8, going on 9 at the time so my older stepbrother was kind enough to take me with him (thanks Mom and Dad for giving us permission!)...I was hooked immediately and I have been a VH fan ever since...
A lot of cliques(as seen the video)in the 80s. VH was the Ultimate Party Band it just so happened they had one of the greatest guitarists of all time. Their debut album is one of the best debut albums of all time. They took the world by storm with that one when it came out in 1978. Rip Eddie
There is this kid Avery Molek, one of the most amazing drummers I've ever seen (check out some of his UA-cam videos) and he got onstage with Brad Paisley and did the drums for this song...when he was 6 yrs. old, and absolutely killed it.
You hit the nail on the head. 80's WAS all about presentation in videos....MTV was pretty new:) At one pont there was only like 4 or 5 videos that played over and over as musicians caught on. I think Billy Idol was one of the first ones. Would be fun for you to review like the first 5 videos ever on MTV.
First time i spent my own money on a Cassette! Earned from mowing lawns with each following week buying one of the 5 previous ones. No order just whatever the store had!
I've got to say watching you enjoy that and smile and have fun all the way through that song gave me chill bumps because I remember what it felt like when I wore headphones at 16 listen the that stuff for the first time.. .Good content keep em coming.
I was 7 years old when I first heard this and immediately told my dad to teach me guitar. 35 years later.. Still play every day. Got goosebumps watching VH win you over in 5 minutes 😎 Do yourself a favor... VH - Mean Street. VH is strong with the funk.
This group made amazing music videos - David Lee Roth in particular is such a showman. Check out the videos for Wish They All Could Be California Girls, and, Just a Jigalow
If you like this video you would love the video just a gigolo, by David Lee Roth, and the singer of Van Halen. It’s so funny and makes fun of everyone in the 80s. Great reaction.
This is not as much for bad A's drums as it is Bad A's Guitar. I remembered this song/video when you mentioned that the kid look likes he can play or new what he was doing. Steve Vai "steve vai the audience is listening". AMAZING GUITAR!

Please do a reaction video to Eddie Van Halen's guitar solo "Eruption." It will blow your mind.
Loved your reaction. That band did not give a flying shit about maintaining any kind of image. It was all about whatever seemed fun at the moment.
This song was on the album 1984. It came out the same year. I was 17 yrs old. What an album to be a part of my High School Graduation year.
Everybody knows Eddie Van Halen, he plays the guitar solo on Michael Jacksons' song 'Beat It'

Just so you know, Eddie Van Halen did the guitar solo on Michael Jackson's "Beat It". Dude is a legend and one of the most innovative guitarists ever.
Steve Luekather did. That's not really true.
@@michaelc7110 Steve Lukather played rhythm guitar and bass on Beat It
@@michaeltabor4176 loltrue. Steve Lukather wouldn't play a solo sounding like that either:))

Just watch Eddie Van Halens eruption video, it's just him in a solo at a live concert in California, a long time ago and it's amazing🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻

Yes yes yes please!!! 🖖🏻🇨🇦
Eddie Van Halen is a LEGEND and innovator
My suggestion, the older the VH the better... the entire 1st album is kickass
Their documentary gave me so much respect for them
1974-78 Pasadena, CA parties were legendary. I was born in the wrong generation
Eddie Van Halen asked Alice Cooper if he would get him a guitar lesson from Glen Campbell.
1984 👍🤘. This was the first album I bought with my own money from mowing lawns.... My parents hated it. So many classics on that album!
Yes it was a great album I loved that album a lot myself and still do
Same. I'd liked them before this album, but Loved them after it. Lawn mowing bought me the other 5 albums as well each week
I was in the 9th grade when this came out. Everyone loved it. Gives me joy to see the up and comers learning the music I grew up with.

The Van Halen brothers are known to be musical prodigies. Both play multiple instruments.
Eddie walking down the library tables doing the solo is one of my favorite things in Rock! R.I.P. king!
Fun, fun, fun...I still remember the # on the jukebox for this one...! =)
Van Halen forever.
This is one of those “100 miles an hour on the freeway on a Friday leaving work” songs. LOVE this damned song!!!!
Rock'roll will never die my friend
Every boy's dream come true!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Van Halen is just fun personified

Did you say "The kid looked like he knew what he was doing" after Eddie's solo? hahahahaha I almost fell off my chair! That was great!!

Yea that was back when every song had a video on MTV
I want to point something out. Eddie Van Halen - the guitarist for Van Halen - performed the guitar solo on Michael Jackson's "Beat it".
The video really doesn't thing por moi till Eddie solos in the camera. So awesome.
Van Halen was always FUN
Eddie is the god of guitar but this song was Alex's time to shine on the drums
Since that video was released i always saw that video and song as just a fun rockin joint that always put a smile on my face.
Gotta Love the 80's...The Golden Era of MTV
Can we go back please!
Van Halen were one of the first major rock bands to really pick up the music video football and run with it
Van Halen- Ain't talking bout love. Panama. 🤘

The first video played on MTV was “video killed the radio star” by the buggles😎
My graduation year 1985

Van Halen - Hear About It Later. This is VH at its finest.

Alex Van Halen wit the nasty rhythm. I always aspired to play like Alex 😂💯
Can you IMAGINE this video now?,,, Glad I grew up when I did..
hell yeah....
If you want drummers watch Rush Tom Sawyer. Neil Peart was one of the best. Used to watch him live up in Northern Minnesota in the 70's and 80's.
I believe this is the first song that the double bass drum was used
Lets\'s get some Megadeth in this joint. Holy Wars....
Crowbar

Eddie was originally going to play the drums, and Alex on Guitar.

Extremely fun song! But that's what the 1980s were all about! Thanks for reacting brother
