- So the only major issue with my 1986 420sel is the air conditioner. When I purchased her the AC would blow but not cold. I was able to jump the compressor relay and fill with 134a freon. It got cold but shortly after the blower stopped blowing air. I tried everything and took apart the entire system. After cleaning the blower I realized it was a different issue. I finally changed the main control and it worked.

SEL Nothing comes on for me the fans use to come on and never blew could but now nothing. What should i check out first?
Hello Pete, thank you very much for your video ! I live in Belgium, I am like you a happy owner of a 420SE 1986, and I also have a problem with the blower... It is cold here in winter. I need it. I tested the motor of the blower, it works. I am about to buy a Blower Motor Regulator Bosch 1268205310 (even though on my part it is written 1268205410, I believe both fit). But I am not sure that it is the cause of my blower problems, and it is pretty expensive (aroud 120$ with the shipping). Do you have an advice ? I would like to know how I can make sure that the problem comes from that part, and I would like to find the part for a better price... Thanks !!!
My issue ended up being a bad ac control unit ( the part you push to make come on). I found one at junk yard for like $20. You can also search eBay for the part you are looking for. I may also have an extra one that I pulled from a car to test mine. I would need to check the part number
@@petescarport "the part you push to make come on", you mean the part you talk about at 11:15 ? It would be great if you could sell me one, before I buy the other piece, the blower motor regulator (1268205410), which is expensive . These cars are very uncommon here. Thanks again !

Pull the blower motor. It may be resistor but could be the brush pack. If you need I have extra blower motor and resistor I could sell you very cheap
@@petescarport I have the 89 with airbags - what’s the chances of it blowing up when I disassemble the underneath where that fan lives
If you have battery off zero percent from what I know. It needs battery to go off. So disconnect negative for 15min and than go for it
