Ty for describing the love I have for Prince i knew it was bigger than words ...words I couldn't find to express my love for the most amazing man I've never met and even tho I've never known Prince in my heart I've always been able to feel him in my mind always been able to hear him ty for putting my love for Prince into words...
I wrote my psychotherapy thesis on him and why he means everything to me but you, you and your words took me to the truth of it. The deep, abiding love and gratitude for Prince. From my 12 year old self and the self of today. 💜
I would like to add that these words are all true or they resonate as... I don't know Andrea or her friend but this poem can not be imagined, as a life long Prince fan I am 57 this year and I cry every single time I listen to this poem. We don't listen to Purple Rain, would happily go without food to buy a concert ticket, memories of queueing for tickets in sub zero temperatures pre internet. I couldn't look at him too long because his privacy was so widely publicised whenever I was near. When he left it felt like the brother I never had had left me. This poem expresses what it still feels like. Thank you Andrea Gibson and I wish you a healthy recovery.

I got a little of this feeling with regard to Bo Burnham this year, clinging to Inside like a life vest, replaying Can’t Handle This until it became a prayer, combing every interview of the last 14 years for grains that proved he won’t leave us too soon, and I won’t either. I’ve still got my hands up, Bo.

The day Prince died i was sitting on my couch watching the news my daughter come home from school she saw me i opened my mouth to utter the words PRINCE DIED TODAY... big tears pouring out my eyes streaming down my face and a frog in my throat that felt like the fist that had just punched me in my chest I tried over and over again to say the words PRINCE DIED TODAY but could not form the words my daughter still looking at me like seeing me in so much pain over Prince's death brought her pain then she said mom i was school today we we're talking about prince and s1 said what's the big deal it's not like it's Michael Jackson it's only Prince and I said to her when I get home my mom's going to be sitting on the couch watching the news and crying bc Prince died today... and I was... to this day whenever I think about Prince I cry bc Prince wasn't just an artist Prince is one of us a born and raised Minnesotan and like the rest of us very proud to be a minnesotan
yes that is sad. Death is death. Regardless of whether its someone as famous as Michael or not. Even someone whos not famous at all. It's not about fame, death is bigger than that. rip

This kinda made me think of the prince as "bts" or "k-pop". I never really was a fan of them but I heard their music. Many people say it has changed their lives. I believe so. The effect of prince's death was severe and I don't know what will happen when their prince will die.

This reminds me 😿I really hate it when someone says they're a super fan yet they know only like two songs and they don't even know what those songs mean to the artist, who inspired them or who the song is about. I get it if you say you're just a fan but if you want to claim to be a super fan. Then be all in. Coz you're actually making us who are actually super fans look like we're not and your kinda disrespecting the artist 🙄🙄. This has nothing to do with the poem, it's beautiful. It's just that as he was reciting, I just got reminded of how these "super fans"😿 that aren't even fans make my blood boil
This poem is kinda good, but as a big, passionate, obsessed Prince fangirl, this is nothing but celebrity worshipping cringe like girl, calm down, it's not that deep.
That's not the point of the poem, it's about the passion someone can hold for a stranger, how you can feel so deeply the loss of someone you didn't know personally
