Equity, Credit score... you can have the best ideas, but unless you have a rich person or business backing you, or you know certain people, its a slow grind to the top (if you can get there). Then, you have to worry about competitors who have financial backing and a bigger name, people willing to take you down and steal your ideas.... there's a lot to consider. Its not even easy to get a loan to start a business over here. and you absolutely have to have more than enough money to do that. Some of us get lucky, some dont

I wish I had pitched MYSELF as a bigger stan to HELP her grow when I met her in 2012 when she spoke at Lesley. But I am an Awkward Black Girl myself and didn't want to be LIKE Stan!😂😩 So happy for her success, from afar.
I had no idea she was doing all of this. I knew she had her own production company but I didn't know she had more than that. So glad she let us see all that she is doing/ capable of because I got overwhelmed watching her explain it all until I realized that she is showing us that we CAN do it all. Nothing is too much!
