    The 2019 U.S. Championship is a 12-player round-robin featuring the strongest players in the USA, who compete for $194,000 in prize money as well as the coveted title of U.S. Champion. If two or more players tie for first place a playoff will be held.
    For the 11th consecutive year the Saint Louis Chess Club is hosting the event. Players receive 90 minutes for the first 40 moves followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game, with a 30-second increment from move one. Draw offers are not allowed before move 30.       I always tell to my weaker opponents when they have a good tactic or strategic move. I get them to say my move as well, sometimes then I play on and make an equal endgame to test their drawing skills.

    Ever since I started watching your videos I started playing better. . Last week I played in a chess tournament and won 4 games out of 7 and even had the honor of having a match against one of the national players in our country. . I lost against him but overall I did pretty well for a first timer. . Thank you for the videos. . I learn new things every time 😊

    Brilliant play. Nakamura is quite an exciting player to watch. The knight sacrifice, while justified, made the game all the more tense. When was the last time we saw a modern game where someone chose to play the sicilian dragon, let alone one where black wins?

      The problem is that after Nc3 you can't take the knight because it won't come with check, and white is threatening Rf8+ Rxf8 Rf8# next move, so all your moves have to be forcing.

    Nakamura has such a brilliant technique he is able to have fun playing; it shows. Tactically only Carlsen rivals with him. And strategically... Well, strategy is not an issue for a guy who is a living opening book.

    Nakamura made fun of the Sicilian Dragon when he was chatting with Danny R of Chess.com the other day...he also made fun of the Panov-Botvinnik attack in the Caro-Kann, calling it a one-trick pony. But of course these super GMs can play any opening.
    BTW - at @8:38 there's an alternative solution that I found, not as good as forced checkmate, but does the job: 1...Rxc1+ 2.Rxc1 Qxe4+ 3.Ka1 axb2+ 4.Kxb2 Qxg2+ 5.Kb1 Qe4+ 6.Ka1 Qe5+ 7.Kb1 Rxc1+ 8.Qxc1 Qxf6 and black is up over 300 centipawns in advantage

    In a short period of time, Agadmator has evolved to be more bright and energetic on-camera. I know that experience talking to the camera helps, but I wonder what else accounts for the difference? The verbal presentation quality is night and day different, to the benefit of more recent videos.
