We have been in St Lucia the whole weekend 😁 currently on our way to Cape Vidal for our last fishing adventure of the trip. Lots of fishing happened this weekend, excited to get the video out for you guys
Thank you so much! It was great meeting you at Illovu Beach. We really appreciate your support and are glad you enjoy our content. Tight lines and hope to see you out there again soon!
Guys just a heads up Kob is 40cm/400mm on the boat and 60cm/600mm from the shore/harbour. You only allowed one per day from the shore and 5 on the boat.
🎣 We have such a Beautiful shore coastline in SA. Our east coast has the most shore angling edible species. Our west coast has less species but there are Plenty of them and into Namibia and Angola. We have Very experienced anglers in SA, from juniors and seniors. Our men are great anglers and there are great lady anglers too, - as more of them are into shore angling. We have great rod casters too, they compete fairly well, 🎣
🎣 Hi Dawie and Nicole, - I like compiled videos, can do more from previous angling adventures. I have two old belt rod bucket holders, I sewed a replacement belt into each one. I have a plastic rod holder pipe for sand; I filed and sanded the sloping bottom edge of the angle sharper, not too sharp as it will get blunt with usage. I did the same on the end of my plastic bait suction pump. They push into sand and mud much easier. That helps alot when I pump for prawns etc., 🎣
Keep old cooking oil, if the wood is burning too slow for your barbeque - braai, pour some on, that will give the flames a burning boost for sure,! ... Can pour some on wood few days before too, will soak in. Hold or place grid/s over flames to burn crust off, brush clean, brush cooking oil onto grid to prevent fish and meat pieces from sticking on. A warm grid should also prevent meat from sticking on. 🐟 🍽️
Not yet! but we were stopped over the weekend by the police after we checked out Pennington beach. There was a lot of shad poaching on Thursday so the police were there over the weekend to check how many shad people were keeping after they left the beach.
🐟 do you know about the ear balancing stones in fish, they are called otoliths, found behind the eyes and larger in Cobs and smartie - sweet shape in barbels. Some people collect them, 🐟
We do try from time to time at Umkomaas when there is high tide but have not caught anything there as yet. Nicole likes to throw her lures there for practice
@@ReelBondFishing , - That's good thinking, 😊 Hopefully Nicole will catch Shad and Garrick, .. I guess there are sand prawns there and mud prawns further up, for Grunter etc, 🎣
@@FirewoodFishing102 I'm really sorry to hear that. I hope things clear up soon and you can get back out there. Stay safe and hang in there! If you have any tips or experiences to share, I'd love to hear them.

In St Lucia they do regular checks, but have never been asked in Durban or on the South Coast. Glad to know they are doing some checks now.
