Love the get right to it, no nonsense approach. Great video, well explained. For the lesser backyard mechs, buying a used strut with the strut plate already attached (usually that is how they are offered at the local parts yard) eliminates the need for a strut compressor and simplifies the job. Either way, Awesome tutorial.
Yup I keep it simple thank you!!
You're a great technician / Master Mechanic. Make the job so easy and interesting. Thank you.
Yeah thank you i appreciate your good appreciation I’m always here to help and guide anyone that need help with car repairs
Advice for those at home that are probably using lower-quality ratcheting wrenches: break the bolts loose with the fixed end, and then switch to the ratcheting end. Helps keep cheaper wrenches alive longer.
Good tip!
Thanks for posting this video, it's taken a while to find something for the newer gen edge/MKX strut replacement. Are those long or extra long pattern ratcheting wrenches and what brand are you using? They look like a handy length compared to my traditional wrenches.
I have a 2018 edge with 100k on it and the struts will need to be replaced sooner or later, so I figured I better get some tools ordered.
I use only snap on
Happen to know what the Torque is required for the mounting nut? I’ve looked on line but looks like there is a part called a torque mounting nut as well, which screws my chances of answers lol.
Well torque cuz I’m fuses torque mount and torque
If I’ma replace the whole strut I can skip the replacing the strut mount right? Just take the old whole strut out and and the new strut comes with its own mount and every things right?
Yup assembly comes with it
Do you have a manual for repairs? I need a manual in pdf format
