This scene right here is what I always loved about Peter and Olivia.
The nakedness, the intense vulnerability, of these two when they're together.
When they're together I feel as if they are made of glass and one wrong word, one wrong action, could shatter their very being, their very souls.
Peter NEVER(!!!) looked at Fauxlivia the way he looks at Olivia. So hesitant, so sad, and hopeful. So...raw! He was never THIS open when he was with Fauxlivia. Only with Olivia is he like this.
You worded this well. Altlivia did love Peter and no matter what anyone says, he cared for her because he fell for a version that he knew deep down wasn't Our Olivia, but he fell for her anyway. But it wasn't the same. Our Olivia and Peter never had the typical relationship like the one he had with Altliv. Our Olivia and Peter were drawn to each other because they were so similar. 2 people why run from commitment and keep people at arms length, coming together.
Polivia is the cutest couple ever and Fringe is the best show so... beautiful moment !!!!
Remember that Olivia only sees things from Another universe when she´s scared. So she was scared about opening up to peter about how she felt. I love POlivia

I like how we don't actually see Olivia seeing Peter glimmer, so initially we think Olivia just got cold feet. And then she reveals to Peter she saw him glimmer, and he knows that means she's afraid of being with him. Of course, this allows her to see something else glimmer that breaks their case open..
Best show ever. It IS a shame it only got 5 seasons.. BUT, they got to tell the story they set out to tell from the start. As much as us true fans would have loved another 5 seasons of our four favorite people in the universes of Fringe, what we GOT, is a complete story, that is an amazing, AMAZING journey to experience, with really no bad episodes. If I had to complain about something, it';d be like, episodes 2-5 or so, those few standalone episode after the pilot, before the larger story arc emerges.. Aside from some very minor character development, Theres not a whole lot to miss. Its just like a few episodes of sci-fi CSI. They're good the second or third time through, but the first time through, it makes the series start out a little slow. Fox's fault. They demanded a couple standalone episodes to set the tone beofre the larger story arc(you know, about the Pattern, and Jones.. hhaaha oh god, just thinking about it makes me wanna watch again right now!). I take it all back. Every second of Fringe is epic, go watch it if you havent it will change your life!
Jeff Cirelli Jeff you couldnt have say it better..... fringe was/is amazing...and even though the true fans would have loved 5 more season. Fringe had what very few shows have: the chance to tell a full story. Every time someone ask me what is or was my fav show, i say without a doubt: fringe. It was amazing from character development to storylines to directing even to music. This was an amazing show that we have ever seen!
The nice thing is, this is the episode where she finally gets over her fears about Peter

Man season 3 was a Wild ride but this episode was everything 😊😊😊
He said "but" as if he was expecting her to say that she wanted to know how it felt like but something was stopping her...

I LOVE THE EPISODE. ALL TH EPOLIVIA IN IT!
I think it is a constant reminder to her that he belongs in another world and with the other Olivia. It is just an insecurity thing.
There are few things i know that I'm afraid of, and that's to connect to another person the way Olivia is.
From what I understand, relationships are tough for Olivia because she's wounded. BUT, I never understood why it was so easy for Peter who is equally wounded. Both had lousy childhoods, Peter was kidnapped and taken from his parents into an alternate universe, Olivia was tested on, had an abusive step father.....so why was it much harder for her to love and trust than it was for Peter?

He's used to fleeting relationships in his life. Used to moving around and losing connections. So he can bond fast and let go easily.
and look what Peter did for a 'job' before the series of Fringe. He was for intents and purposes a Con man. He could fake a feeling, accent, knowledge and so on. In fact he even mentions to Olivia early on that he dosnt normally stay in one location too long.
During the whole show Peter behaved or acted awkwardly so many times. He's been wrong and made so many mistakes, it was understandably hard to consider him trustworthy and reliable. As for Olivia, it wasn't hard for her to love and trust in the beginning. But then her boyfriend betrayed her and died. She discovered that technology and science could do things way more horrible than she thought, which must have been very frightning for her, unlike to Peter who was a scientist. Just a few weeks later, she learned she's been tested on, and has been given powers that the others experimented kids couldn't control and used to make terrible things.
@@dwightironface6197 I don't think it came so easily to him either. He admits several times that being with the Fringe team just over a year is the longest he's stayed in one place for a long time. But he found a connection with the team, and Oliva he just couldn't walk away from this time.

When something glitter's it sort of means that it's not real or not from the current world/universe in which they are present in.
They're so perf ahhhhh cries cause she forgot and he was making out with fauxlivia while she was being hurt ;(
It,s really kinda awkward now that the other Olivia ruined everything I really wish that they would have just dropped that earlier ,and I think that,s the reason the show went on for only 5 seasons, because a lot of people probably did not survive through the awkwardness.
I still don't understand what's the big deal that Peter glimmered. Did it just freak Olivia out?
@hylianlegends because she only sees the glimmer in things from the other side when she is in a state of fear. that revealed she is afraid and she took that as she is afraid to jump into things with peter.
This is a massive spoiler........... Peter is actually from the other universe. (There are 2 in Fringe. This universe's Peter died when he was a child and Walter basically stole the other Peter) When Olivia sees something from the other universe they sort of glimmer

What does glimmer mean in this context?
6 years later but : when she is afraid she can see things or people who come from the alternate universe, Peter comes from the other universe and it shows that the kiss made her afraid so she can't get over everything that happened before

He is trying to help Olivia put her thoughts to words and describe why she can't be all in. She shakes her head because she doesn't want to answer him that at the moment. The kiss turns out to be bad though because, visually, he shows up all shimmery to her as her fear makes him glimmer- as that's how things from the other side show up for her.

Oh, okay. Don't worry about the spoiler thing: I knew Peter was from the other universe. Didn't know about the glowing, though. Why is that a problem to Olivia?
She can only "see" objects, or people from a different universe when she feels fear. She buries it, because it's allowed her to do her job well. If she saw Peter glimmering, it meant she was afraid of being with him, and intimacy in general
