I love this. I love how, despite the hair and the clothes, she is so clearly our beautiful, tortured Olivia. (Anna Torv is brilliant in this scene.) I love how her hand flutters when they kiss. I love how Peter pulls her closer. I love everything about this moment.

At the beginning I wasn't sure if this was Altlivia or Olivia in disguise (it's been a while since I saw this episode) but when she said, "Peter..." I INSTANTLY KNEW IT WAS OUR OLIVIA. o.o
How eerie that even intonation can set them apart....and yet Peter didn't figure it out later on. :L
They never really had very passionate kisses did they? A peck here, a small smooch there...yet they gave off sparks just being in the same room...the way they looked at one another and the way they touched was enough! There's that one episode where Olivia looks at Peters scar on his wrist...the way they held hands and looked at one another in that scene was more breathless than any kiss!
+dominicansoul1 I think only with Altlivia (the "distraction" scene comes to mind). And I so agree with you about the holding hands moment. Those two are great actors and have a lot of on-screen chemistry.
Peter, when the girl kisses you, you take that hand of yours out of your pocket and hold her. Gee.

That's a summary of their personalities. She can't make a decision that isn't calculated or informed, so that she doesn't get hurt; Peter makes them with little hesitation.
After finishing this series, I'm feeling empty.I couldn't find similar series.
Try Helix TV Show...it was written and co-created by Ronald D Moore (the guy who reimagined Battlestar Galatica). The show is kind of like fringe because it has a Michael Crichton vibe that Fringe possesses. Helix is essentially about the CDC trying to contain a dangerous pathogen, while navigating a larger conspiracy and a fight for survival at an arctic base.

We're headed into the so-called "dark winter," and with the way this year is going...a fight for survival at an artic base should happen any day now. Hell, maybe it's already happening. The acting in this Series, especially that by John Noble, but really all of them, and in this scene by Anna Torv, was always superb and deeply moving.
I was discussing with the friend who introduced my sister and I to this show and I remember asking, in their first scene, *thinks* "..." *Scratches chin* *Looks at friend* "🤨 Do they happen?"
And she LAUGHED and gave me a wicked grin and said "Ohhhh yes."
"But it's a slow burn" 😂😂😂😂😂
Definitely one of my favourite tv programs of all time. The relationship has taken seasons to develop and finally!!! It's happening.
I just finished this series, and this scene is so perfect except Peter's hand in his pocket.
I've memorized every word in this scene because I've watched it so many times lol. I've been waiting for them to kiss for so long and they did this scene perfectly! But I'm so mad that the wrong Olivia is in our universe :(
But even the wrong Olivia fell for Peter.

I love this scene more everytime! If only someone was there now to remind them of how beautiful it was, the way he didnt care that she knew, the way she just said 'yes you do', her hand hesitating over his cheek and of course the all important fact that he held her close!

hahah love that you can clearly see since season 1 that Peter loves Olivia, but in fact she's the first one to tell him her feelings and to kiss him!
oh. my. god. it's been a long time coming. what an amazing scene. you know she was gonna be the one to say after how much she's missed Peter these last few weeks. sooooo worth the wait...although now we get to deal with the fact that she's stuck on the other side without anyone knowing, yea that's a GREAT way to start a new relationship haha

I've just started watching Fringe, so while I've just kind of ruined the surprise for myself by watching this, I couldn't help it. Been rooting for Olivia/Peter from episode 2 (after John died)
The way he shakes his head and he looks so hurt, it's like the words physically stung him.

I know this isn't the point of this segment, but it's so interesting to me how later on in this show, Peter uses his past knowledge of a now-Retconned alternet version of Walter, Walternate, to judge his character on actions he never, in that new timeline, committed. Fascinating stuff.
0:20 I really wonder, with how Brilliant Walter(nate) is - and this one much more ruthless and coherent, too, without a chunk or several of his brains out - if he knew he the whole time he wouldn't be able to save either world regardless, so he wanted to bring Earth 1 down in the process. Purely for vengeance. Evil, certainly. But quite a character.

im so pleased they didnt give oliva some soppy arse line to reveal her feelings for peter, just simply lets him know... still kindve restrained right till the end when oliva HAS to say something. love it!!!! caint wait for season 3 in the UK!!!!
I find his body language so interesting, this scene was the thing that made me think that maybe Olivia and and Peter weren't going to be together, he's drawing away at the same time as he is holding on. You get a tangible feeling that something important is missing. Shes hanging onto him desperately, but he's more conflicted.
Now how they managed to do this and then still make me be genuinely laughing with Fauxlivia not 3 episodes later is one of the greatest feats of writing and acting I’ve ever seen. 😊
check this out! what if altivia and peter head off and do a bunch of episodes together. hes knows somethings up but cant quite put a finger on it yet (because altivia is caniving like that) and in one of the episodes she DIES! so petter is all heart broken and torn and brooding but unaware still of our olivia in the the AU. so he goes on brooding and coping when he finds out where she is!!! so then he becomes crazed and spends the rest of the season trying to find her and bring her back!
YES finally, I had a feeling it would happen on the last ep. Best season finale ever, can't wait for the next season.

Well it's about time! Finally...I've been waiting for this since the Pilot b/c you could just see it in how they looked at each other and they always called the other one for help. I wish they woulda showed Peter's face, you could see the emotion in Olivia, see looked like she was gonna cry when she kissed him.
oh man. I can't now if Olivia needed to kiss him as much as I needed them to kiss. Can't wait for season 3!

If by "prime-universe Olivia" you mean Olivia Dunham from the this universe (the blue one), then yes, he did. The Olivia Dunham and Peter Bishop that we knew from the start kissed. But when Olivia and William Bell were fighting the Fringe agents and Peter and Walter were setting up the device, Altlivia slipped in with Bell and Olivia was left to Walternate's imprisonment.
In short, you are correct. :)

This scene really came out of the blue, knocked me down and left me mumbling "Did someone get the license plate of that truck?"
By that I mean it was so...so unexpected. But it was so awesome either...and the way Olivia seemed to pull back a bit but then Peter pulled her close...aww...
I hope Peter sees through the alt Olivia in the 3rd season and realizes that she's not his Olivia.

The moment I saw this I knew something bad was going to happen. Either one of them would die (thank God it hasn't happened... yet) or one of them would be left behind in the alternate universe. Guess I was right, even if it hadn't happened the way I thought it would.

I was thinking that Altivia will die, and Peter will be heartbroken but then will see her tattoo, and will know that his Olivia is in the AU. Then he will try to go over there but Walter won't want him to go. Then peter will say "I love her, daddy." And then he'll go and save her

I mean in each universe there's a different version of "Olivia", and everyone else, but that doesn't mean one is less human (by that I mean: have it's own past, history, personality...) than the other. It's easier to understand when you watch all the episodes

I'm terribly sad, I know, but I just finished going through S2 on DVD and just went squeee when this happened. Hope they don't walk it back in S3! And how refreshing to have a show that doesn't keep you waiting for 7 seasons, then chickens out.

There has been rumors that our Olivia will be back by around season 3' half. More than how the whole Peter-Altlivia situation is gonna be developped, I'm EXTRA curious on how that will affect Peter and Olivia's relationship... Also, TPTB said that although in a extremely bad situation, we'll get to see what would her life be had she made different choices - maybe meeting her alt mother, Frank and beeing without Peter, will make Olivia understand that, basically it's all a matter of choices...
Neither of them is 'fake'. They're both humans beings, with a different life. And this one is the Olivia we know from the first season.
@x118xangelus I too loved the fact they finally kissed but I disagree with you about the Rachel thing, i don't think there was ever anything there between Peter and Rachel, it was always Olivia for him, I'm glad they didn't go there with Peter and Rachel, there was zero chemistry between them, also on a personal note I didn't like the Rachel character from the start, she just annoyed me for some reason can't quite figure out why she just did. Can't wait to see season 3 and where they go next.

It started last week in the US.
Finished reading a science fiction book which made me think of this which prompted me to watch this scene again. Squee every time.
(Read Lady of Mazes for a good hard scifi story.)
I really didn't expect this at all! Never in my mind did it occur that they're going to be kissing this season finale..
I screamed as soon as she said "You belong with me" and my brother, who was watching with me, jumped out of his skin in fright. XD I loved that they kiss but at the same time I kinda liked them flirting back and forth without having a real relationship.. so I'm torn whether I want them to be bf/gf. Well, not soon since AltOlivia is the one on this universe anyway.
