- Happy Flag Day to those in the USA from the Kingdom in Wilderness Alaska but in Northern Manitoba. the forecast was terribly wrong today with sunny skies forecasted but more on and off rain like yesterday. oh well we chose to live up here and enjoy the good life. today was just loose ends with getting the bush line debris ready to be loaded up. then pressured washed a few things to be ready for the heavy rains this weekend. finally at the end of the day, the rains stopped long enough so i could check out the Screaming Ford fuel problem which appeared to be the check valve. oh well, easy fix i hope. thansk

Dear KoO, thank you for recognizing Flag Day here in USA. Things are quite backward here as half the population is ashamed of our flag. 😢 Oh well, that's what they teach the kids in school these days. With all the cleanup you're doing I hardly recognize it from a couple years ago. Now when you pick up a lady from Dairy Queen you can bring her home!😅 Thanks

As an American I want to thank you for displaying our flag on the anniversary of the day it was adopted in 1774.
Unfortunately in the U.S. at the present time the flag is being desecrated on a daily basis by a radical political party that has used it as clothing, imposed the face of their leader on it, put political messages on it, and used the standard that carries it as a weapon during an attack of our nations capitol.
Your respect and proper display of our national flag, as someone who is not a U.S. citizen is an action that is highly commendable.
Thank you for your actions, and respect.

Once again thanks to Joey Barnes a Canadian who shows the proper respect to the flag of the United States, on a day honoring the creation of that flag.
In stark contrast to those who live under the protection of that flag, and desecrate it on a daily basis.
Too many people have been laid to rest with that flag draped over their coffins to have it treated that way.

Mr. King of Obsolete, in a pinch I bought that exact same Blue*, 11 gal portable air tank & funky Brass valve setup + 3' hose his spring. Mine leaks out over night if I turn the Red* Thumb Wheel valve all the way to OFF. For your reference I paid $52.99 U.S. out the door at a store 2 miles from my house. I'm going to replace the hose with a few more feet and the end w/ a lock on tire filler. The one on it is so small it gets lost in my hands. * I know you can't see the tank is Blue or the Thumb wheel valve is Red, Staff will verify it. Glad the 8/71's running again. Loud? Hmmm. When I tested Diesels at GM the 4 cycle diesels went Chop Chop Chop. The Detroit's just purred. But Loud? Maybe, depending on the mufflers I guess, but S-M-O-O-T-H YES!! Keep it up. ben/ michigan
the tank was on sale for $59.99cdn then taxes and shipping by mail came to $95.02 which in my eyes was very good. it will only be for the quads so i will not be doing a complete re-make i hope. yes the 2 stroke diesel made a sound all their own and will never be replaced. thansk

When I bought my wife’s dad’s service/welding truck from Sask. it had a set of wrenches that were Proto Canada. When I went to diesel mechanic school in ND my set of wrenches were Proto USA. Put them back to back they are the same just different stamp. Go figure
yes there was a time when those little details meant a lot, now they have china stamped on the wrenches and the box will say made in the usa or canada. thansk

So, can we consider that an easy fix on the fuel issue? I mean, did you break a sweat or get your hands dirty? Fond memories of back in 1991 when a fuel line collapsed and left us on the shoulder. Eventually, after some screwing around and priming, we got home, and changed out the fuel line. Never had that problem before or since.
One problem I have never had and never will have, ever, is a problem with "dramabook" as you call it. Never been a member, and never will. One less source of stress in my life, and I like it that way.
Getting back to the fuel thing on your truck, I wonder if the check valve or check ball had gotten slimed up with growth or "diesel bug", and managed to get stuck in the almost closed position, but the slime was not letting the check ball fit tightly in place, and causing drainback, or losing its prime. Looked like a nice, healthy flow when you opened the tank valve. You don't run the thing very much anymore. I really hate to suggest putting chemicals into anyone's fuel tank, but might be worth a shot to try some anti-fungal, anti-algae, anti-bacterial -type of fuel conditioner, only because of the slow turnover of fuel through that whole system. Would likely be a whole different story if that thing was turning a few hundred km every day and being fueled up with fresh fuel each night.
yes the IH cats are well known for the collapsed fuel line under the fuel tank where it changes to the steel line to go to the motor. when i changed the 2019 filters in may 2024, there was plastic on top on the first filter after the check valve. once i seen the fuel flow from the bottom tank valve i knew it would be the check valve would have the other plastic. oh well at least it was a warm day not -40f trying to figure it out. thansk
