My family lives full time in an RV. I was looking for a cheap, small printer for the rare times we need one. This fits the bill, the scan/copy is a huge plus! Keep it up, Lon.
ManFromEast - we are going full time rv in 5 months. I need a compact printer for my business. How did this one work out for you? I need to print colored labels.
@@inkpearls3364 It's been a good fit! Size and weight are great. We don't use it very often, but it still prints and scans just fine. Only problem we had was one of the cartridges clogged up when we didn't use it for several months, but I can't really blame that on the printer. Good luck on your journey, hopefully we'll see you out there!
I bought a new one last month. So far I really like it for the price. Set up was easy, I just put in the cd and it was ready in 2 minutes. (I didn't bother with going to the HP website or registering it). It's a little slow, but nice and small so doesn't take up much space. I think it's great for someone who doesn't print much like me, and just wants something small , cheap, and basic.
I got this for $50 off from HSN after I purchased a laptop. Making it about 19.99 for the printer. I like the printing aspect of it, but I will still have to keep my old HP printer, since the old one can scan multiple documents at the same time and can also scan small things like Driver's License or medical cards. This new one is convenient for me because its small and I can keep on a little table beside my desk and use it wireless. So I guess I will have 2 printers to use.
I just purchased this printer and waiting for it to arrive. My purpose for this printer is to print photos and color documents mostly. Already have a great b/w laser printer with sheet feeder scanning so the two of these should be perfect for me.
This printer worked for a few months for me and then everything went wrong. I refilled the cartridge and found out that the chip inside detects how many sheets it printed and stops printing. The printer comes with a diagnostic that falsely reports the ink cartridge is empty even when it is full. They try to get you to pay at least $5 a month toward new cartridges to get you to keep paying and paying and and paying and paying. Return this to the store if you can.
Mine works fine for over a year, still using the setup cartridge (i refilled it a lot of times already) and it still works fine. Planning on installing CISS kit soon
Love this printer scanner, simple, easy, decent scan and print all for $40... This is perfect for the last minute documents that I need and don't want to have to make a seperate Officeworks run...
I'm a truck driver and I keep this is my truck to save money on faxing oversize permits, p make copies, print emergency declaration exemptions and scan and email bills of lading back to the office. I run it off of a power inverter. Perfect for my needs. Small as fits in truck easily
I never understood while some companies will request lower cost items back after a review. I have seen some use fedex next day shipping both ways. the shipping in some cases will cost more than the product.
I came years later for the review and instead, paused the video to just gawk at the old-tech on his bookshelf, including VHS, palm pilot, Zip disk ....... so very cool!!!!
I prints out really good color photos, from 4x6, 5x7, to 8.5x11, if you use good glossy paper and the highest quality settings on the printer (via the desktop app in my case). At 6 cents or so per page via the Instant Ink program, you can't beat it - on my Canon and Epson inkjets, ink costs run about 80 cents for 4x6 color photos, all they way up to $2 or more per 8.5x11. It IS incredibly slow with photos at the highest setting, but feeding is pretty reliable so I just walk away and come back to a stack of color photos ... that evening.
We do not do a lot of document printing from the internet but we do need to copy some hard copy documents once and awhile. Things like birth certificates, reciepts, small contracts, letters, etc. Our demand is less than 15 pages a month, so we signed up for the free supply of ink cartridges for light users. This machine has the wireless option that we use and it does a great job. Has the hard wire connection for people not linked to the internet if needed as well. I would recommend for anyone who needs a copier for occasional personal use. Again..love the wireless feature. We can print from our laptops anywhere in the house. Thanks HP.
$69?! This video is 3 years old... I just bought this printer from Amazon for $89.99 + $17 for Asurion protection. Should I send this back and order from somewhere else. Where did you get this that it was $69?
Yes it works nowadays. A friend has the 62 now and it does. I wouldnt buy it because for 30 dollars more you have one with a real scanner/copier thats atleast twice as fast and double resolution/dpi. But for what it is it works. For scanning you need an app you can download on your phone or desktop. Copying and printing doesnt require that app. Well okay if you only have a desktop and cannot get access for one time just to download the app to the internet , then you can't use the scanner. And you can have a subscription for free even to get inkcartridges once in a while for free. If you don't print alot it will be enough otherwise theres an option for less then 2 dollars that should be enough to print atleast 50 full colorpages a month.
Printed great for a while, but then when I tried the hp ink program everything got messed up. The printer won't connect to the internet the web service light flashes amber and won't let me print anything at all...... I can't reset it, it does not respond to any of the factory reset options. I spent 6 hours with Hp then Spectrum internet and then with my Net Gear and no one could fix the problem. If I had just left it off line from the beginning I would still be able to use this printer. What a frustrating piece of crap!
Setting up this wonderful piece of tech for my mother and can not believe she bought a 4 yr old minimum "AIO" minus fax. I was annoyed that you would suggest my beloved Google Cloud Print because it is dead as of the beginning of this year, but given how Looooong ago this was uploaded. I wish she would consult me, instead of calling me to deal with her headaches. And it still cost $69 this far on. When she brought up replacing her canon I said JUST MAKE SURE IT HAS MULTIPLE PRINTER CARTRIDGES not just one black and an AIO color cartridge. Because once you run out of any ONE of the colors you have to replace them all. such a waste. And I hear in a recent update, you can no longer use 'generic ink cartridges' as the device will recognize it and will not function with them. Will only work with authentic HP Ink.
Oh, I love how small, portable and cute this is. Of course a laser printer is quicker and the ink is less expensive in the long run, but those are some big ass printers, they're much heavier and bulkier. Inkjet printers are more convenient to carry, and often, they are all-in-one, while a laser printer in the same price range is just for printing.....
Scanning single sheets is fine but booklets, magazines or anything like that without cutting the pages out are impossible. From what i understand companies don't make any money on printers themselves and rely on ink sales thats why the stuff is so expensive. Peace
That makes sense. Printers are cheap because the maker probably wants you to buy them so you''ll be stuck having to buy the ink. The ink replacments very quickly can become more than the cost of the printer itself. I don't print much, so this is perfect for me.
Great video, thanks. I've got a couple of questions, please.. 1. To be clear, can I print directly from my iPhone or MacBook without a wifi network? 2. Must one use an instant ink contract?
1. Yes you can you just need to connect to the wifi direct of the printer 2. Up to you, i installed a CISS system on mine so i didn't use instant ink contract.

I just bought the scanner 2 days ago and still learning how to use it. I don't think you can scan your passport bc you have to feed it through the top like he did. A passport is too think to feed in the tray on top. I think you will need a scanner where you can lay your paper or whatever you want to scan on the glass top. I also did not see an option once you scan something that you can increase the photo size. I hope that helps.
I have a Dell laptop Vista and I have this printer and I'm trying to Scan photos how do you scan them in to a computer that's all I want to do with mine that's what I bought it for just to scan photo really
I like how quick and accurate he explains it

I just bought the scanner 2 days ago and still learning how to use it. I don't think you can scan your passport bc you have to feed it through the top like he did. A passport is too think to feed in the tray on top. I think you will need a scanner where you can lay your paper or whatever you want to scan on the glass top. I also did not see an option once you scan something that you can increase the photo size. I hope that helps.
Please, i did not recieve the usb cable. Hiw it will work. I have a computer
