When you enter into a family system the society totally judges you by how much asset you have, irrespective of your education or character. Why girl parents are pressurized to give gold and dowry? This is like giving life time punishment for girl child parents. There is no difference in efforts while raising Girl/Boy child from first day of birth. What is this unwritten rule?
Girl parents should educate girl child to get a job, parents should save gold, give dowry & gold, do marriage for her. At the end of the day she has to do all household chores in husband's home, give full salary to them,etc.. What middle class parents who have only girl child will get at the end? No financial support even from daughters during old age (girls are not allowed to do from in laws place). Girls are taught to do cooking for boy parents throughout the life. In other hand, what girl parents are enjoying? Daughters wouldn't have had an option to look after and feed their own parents after marriage. I am sware every girl would have thought that they haven't got an opportunity to take care of their own parents like how they are doing for their in-laws. It's completely a male driven society. That's why no one is cherishing girl child birth in our society and feeling them as a burden even in this century. All their efforts in upbringing the girl child will be useful only to the bridegroom's family. Writing this to voice out for unsung heroes (girl child parents) who has taken care of their girl kids during day and night, who have waken up at early morning to make them study and score well, who have sacrificed their whole life for their girl kids growth even after knowing that this society will not let them to get anything in return.

This is ridiculous. World is changing now. Most of the girl child’s are not fond of wearing gold jewels. Young parents also started not looking for gold as dowry. Girl child or boy child, the expenses are almost same. Such channel should promote ways to teach children and young parents on investments and making money rather than being orthodox and promoting dowry.

Boy and girl both must be raised in a way that they understand the values of life and learn to live independently.. parents must train and educate them practically.
