Had the pleasure of seeing them play in Bristol UK and he was smiling the whole time even through some of the toughest and fastest sections that clearly only very few can play. Was an absolute honour to be there!

@@HybridSpektar the bass player can downpick most of the riffs Chris can't and live he does a portion of backup vocals, so I don't know what you're implying here. This is the 4 stack SOI always needed. If they get a 2nd guitar player, I wouldn't mind but they definitely do not need to, as they act in unison as a 4-piece.

Chris Wiseman is just on another level as a songwriter. Idk how he does SoI along with Currents and just writes banger after banger for both band's simultaneously. One of the hardest working and most talented metal songwriters of our era for sure. Chris, if you see this your a BEAST! Same goes to the rest of you boy's... your absolutely killing it. 💪

My expectations are always sky high for Shadow of Intent, and they haven't disappointed once yet. This is by far and away, no exception. I saw that SOI was coming back this week, then I saw that there was some sort of sci-fi theme being re-introduced, and I was immediately interested. The result was better than I could've possibly imagined. This is one of the heaviest and gnarliest, and also most epic and cinematic tracks SOI has ever dropped, and I am in love with it. This song to me, is like if you took Primordial and Reclaimer, fused them with Elegy, added some Melancholy atmosphere to it, and then injected a heaping dose of Hollow Prophet filthiness, and the crew just went apeshit. THIS SONG, is fucking amazing. I love this band, and Ben wasn't lying when he said SOI would come back more angry and more heavy. It did, and it worked beautifully, alongside the orchestral elements and all that jazz.

The highs are juicy af man. Shadow of intent is probably around the peak for deathcore but you gotta check out the indwell album by methwitch to see the peak of extreme metal (it’s a solo project by the way). There’s almost no way to describe how heavy it is. All I can really say is Cameron has the best whistle tones ever. The dude also has some really good slow and clean songs on the album. The heaviest songs to me are uninvited guests, burn victim, and bed full of snakes. The best slow songs are ashen and exhale.

Am I going crazy or the ship is just the USG Ishimura from Dead Space ? Even the atmosphere of the video seems to be inspired a lot by the saga ! The song itself is insane, orchestration and backing vocals are mixing perfectly with the heaviness of the song, sound like another banger album coming !

Shadow of Intent lyricism is heavily based of the lore of the Halo universe, Reclaimer is literally about The Flood from Halo 2.

Didn't play Halo at all (even if I heard a lot of good things about it) so The USG Ishimura was the first thing that came to my mind, also with the inside of the ship from the clip that looks a lot like the one from DS ^^
dead space was my first thought as well especially because of the recent remaster would kind of make sense, but i can see how it could be the flood from halo like others have stated when previous albums have been based on that series
I love how this band keeps evolving, while also maintaining their roots. This song is a perfect example of that. Y’all been one of my favorite bands for years now, keep it up!
