Nice presentation. I wonder if the Reds had any idea the fix was on during the series. And after the scandal broke in 1920. If any of the players felt they had won a dirty series. Then there is the Cal Crim story.
I am.a lifelong Reds fan, but lets be honest, they would've gotten DESTROYED by the White Sox. Even Reds Manager Pat Moran and star outfielder Ed Roush said the Reds would have lost if the Sox played it straight. I mean seriously, the Reds lost 3 games in a series that was FIXED lol. All that shows you is that the Sox could've, and would've won anytime they wanted to.
If you're the Reds. After the scandal broke in 1920. How do you reconcile feeling like you won a dirty series. Bet some advertising deals were lost etc.
Reds had much deeper starting pitching with five starters. White Sox had two key pitchers, Cicotte and Willams. Faber was ill from flu epidemic, Kerr a much travelled rookie.
@@danielcorreard3746 They did...but back then this was the only opportunity the AL and NL had to play each other. Indeed the Reds had the better record but maybe it was thought the Sox had the better players and faced tougher competition

Sox had a better offense, Reds had better pitching. Reinstate Buck Weaver!
