I find the worst impediment to back 3-turns, is not having your weight placed on the back half of your blade. For me, this happens mostly on my LBI edge; for some reason I have a tendency to place my weight forward when gliding on that edge, although I'm OK on RBI. Also make sure you have a strong check, facing outside the circle, and looking in the direction you're moving with eyes up. Rise for the turn, be smooth and don't rush it. Think ahead: As you approach the turn, visualize and focus on your upcoming exit edge, rather than the turn itself. A good sign of a well-executed turn is that it's nearly silent.
