Reading new books should be a great way to prevent cabin fever. Time spent sleeping, reading, and maybe even crafting shouldn’t count towards cabin fever. Passing time and repetitive tasks should.

Hadrian: being as quiet as possible Jennifer: yells “Jesus, it’s cold!” Meanwhile the game: “You didn’t just spend extra time going to get one of these bedroll things did you?” Cabin fever in a mode that is so very cold? Just extra cruel. Hopefully at some point they give the option to turn it off in misery mode. The game really messes with the sticious. It knows what it’s doing.
Man I can't imagine having that feeling of accidentally wasting a match by accidentally trying to light a torch when you don't mean to in this gamemode. It's bad enough when I do that in Interloper and my OCD just goes ballistic.
I can't either, but because I don't care. I've had so many pepple coming to the comments over the years to troll me over perfect match usage. If only they could understand how directly their efforts have led to me caring less.

The spray paint is blessing the run. If he drops it RNG will remove its blessing and give him bad loot. The fuses were likely a habit grab, but will now be forever carried due to questioning the fuses.
I know you know this game buddy... But why are you not lighting a torch to start your fires with. Guaranteed 1 match max. Took a break and now I'm back catching up on your misery content. I have not played this mode yet. Not sure I have the stomach for it yet...
We'll talk about it in the beginning of AAO7. But if you want the real answer? It's because so many people in the comments have asked the same question over the years, trying to get me to do it their way, that it's kind of me saying "no, this is my game, not yours."
There is an immensely negative context to backseat gaming that people generally don't truly understand until they're a content creator. I call it the one-way amphitheater effect, because it's like a one-way mirror. Your experience of the medium depends on the side of it you stand on. When you're in the audience on the internet, you don't realize that 50 other people have said the same thing as you in the last two minutes. Because the audience is not in the same space. Consequently, a simple suggestion that seems polite and helpful to you comes across as rude and unnecessary to the creator, in the same way that a presenter in an auditorium would feel disrespected if 10 people in a row said the same thing to him in half an hour of lecture. It sucks, because it's inherent to the medium. I wish it wasn't so pernicious. But because it is, at some point you just stop wanting to take persistent popular suggestions that aren't part of your personal motivations within the game. In a lot of cases, you actually develop an aversion to them, as a middle finger to the perceived rudeness / nagging of the suggestion (never to the people, unless the person is themselves rude). Worst part is, most folks who bring it up were just trying to help.
@@HadrianLP I'm not a content creator but I totally get this. It's why I sat there for several moments considering whether or not to hit the send button. I don't like to be captain obvious or be "Back seat driver guy". I was watching you stress over the lack of matches and was wondering if you were doing it intentionally for effect or if you like to avoid using tricks like that to keep it challenging, or if the added stress of this mode can make a person forget little things like this at times. Thanks for the feedback and insight.
