Keith, About bottom cleaning. I have raced sailboats of all sizes all over the world and cleaned boat bottoms literally thousands of times. Get a hand suction cup to hold you near the boat and keep from wearing yourself out trying to kick to stay close to the hull.

Pretty sure when Finn turns 18 he'll be leaving the boat, he's talked about maybe getting a van and traveling the U.S. and vlog about his adventures...Whatever any of the Whitaker kids end up doing, I'm sure they'll be successful, with their home schooling, they've learned way more about how to manage life in the real world than regular high schoolers do. Not to mention the amount of time they spend with their parents, learning even more in just day to day conversations. Most teenagers today don't spend more than an hour or 2 a day actually in the same room as their parents.

I'm a water skiier, wakeboarder, wake surfer, snow boarder, snow skiier, and surfer. I learned to ski, then surf, then the rest. I'm still no good at surfing! Surfing is by far the hardest but the feeling you get riding a wave is like nothing else!! Timing the paddle into a wave is super tricky. And those waves were big!! Keep it up Jack!
If Keith gets tired of cruising he should open a boat service shop where he can trick-out boats for other cruisers. I’m always amazed at what he adds to the boat.
Kate is really getting out there doing the work! Love watching her. Sometimes you get over ran by big brothers but she is kicking it! Keith can do anything it seems and Jack was certainly learning the ropes. Everyone else, hello!

I never dreamed I'd meet y'all again on line via your UA-cam channel. I started watching Sailing SV Delos videos a few years ago and then picked up a few more channels and yours was one of them. I didn't realize at 1st who you guys actually were until I started hearing you talk about Lewisville, and Dallas, TX. and then my memory struck and I remembered that garage sale down the street where the family were going to sale the world. Turns out it's a slang term for anything coated with a batter with spices and pan or deep fried, (Thanks Colonel Sanders). I also wonder why Keith uses Phillips head screws instead of Robertson or Torx bits? Congrats to Kate for completing secondary school, you should keep on going now, while you are young and your brain is still very elastic. Perhaps mechanical engineering? If you are wondering why some unknown subscriber is offering unsolicited advice, I'm an old guy and some of us old folks think it's a good idea to offer advice to you young people. You guys are squeezing every bit of drop out of life. I grew up on the maine coast building boats and mucking about in boats since I was barely old enough to row. Currently I own a marine electrical company that I started almost ten years back and still to this day, I envy those that have cut the cord and just gone for it on life long adventures such as yours. You've done a great job with your kids and it shows. They'll never forget growing up on the water. I sure look back on it, almost 50 years later. Hell of a ride !

Crossings are way more interesting if you FISH ! I feel like she would enjoy the crossing if she just gave it a try, but that's just me. My longest was about 1300 miles from Bora Bora to Tongatapu Tonga and I thought it was amazing (and yes we caught lots of fish including several marlin which we released). 0:32 jack - scoot up a bit on your board. It’s okay if the nose dips a bit under the water sometimes when you’re paddling. You want the average board profile to be flat which will allow you to get down the wave or pitch back once you’ve caught it. Keep your head and chest up with your shoulders back.
Sailing is the best. Just hearing the water and wind with no loud motor. But enjoy what you like to do. Ever thought of a power boat ? Enjoy your channel, you have a nice family. Merry Christmas.

Your truck doesn't have sails... $18k is terrible for a sailboat. SV Delos (which granted is a smaller boat) just said they use around $100 ($140 if it hadn't been tax free) diesel per month in their last video. And that included crossing the Pacific...
Hi Keith and Renee! I'm glad you got a pie dish! I'm not a sweets person, but I have a 10" glass pie dish I use for making Quiche. Just a couple cups of flour, some water, salt, oil and baking powder, maybe some sugar (I never measure) and you have a pie crust for about USD$0.50. Happy Christmas to you all! I like your new Fenderteq fenders! I still hope you give a coupon for them because I'm going to need them in the spring and I'd love for you to get a kickback. BTW, I doubt you would find shortening in the EU because it's about 100% transfats, which I believe were outlawed there even before California outlawed them. Not too good for you! Shortening does outperform butter, but you can sub butter or even a neutral oil (like not olive oil or sesame oil) and get a decent product. Not as flaky, but the crust is a small part of the dish. I would like to just also agree with Kate that chicken fried steak is far superior to turkey. What is the Zatara crew going to do for Christmas dinner? I usually make prime rib, but my daughter wants lobster, so I bought the frozen tails today. Going to make filet and lobster, plus a lobster bisque. Not an easy menu on a passage, but I would trade places with you and have something different if I could. I am so proud of you and your family!

He is currently working on a 6-pack captains license, for when he goes to Tonga next year 🤙🏼

I am very sad to see Jayden go - she has such an infectious personality and she was what led me to you all at Zatara. I will definitely continue following you both ! Crossings are way more interesting if you FISH ! I feel like she would enjoy the crossing if she just gave it a try, but that's just me. My longest was about 1300 miles from Bora Bora to Tongatapu Tonga and I thought it was amazing (and yes we caught lots of fish including several marlin which we released). Congrats to Kate for finishing school ! Smooth seas and fair winds to y'all until the next episode - I LOVE the channel !

0:32 jack - scoot up a bit on your board. It’s okay if the nose dips a bit under the water sometimes when you’re paddling. You want the average board profile to be flat which will allow you to get down the wave or pitch back once you’ve caught it. Keep your head and chest up with your shoulders back.

$18k isn’t bad for a years worth of fuel. My fuel cost in a Toyota truck is around $11k and it rarely get more than 60miles from home
Your truck doesn't have sails... $18k is terrible for a sailboat. SV Delos (which granted is a smaller boat) just said they use around $100 ($140 if it hadn't been tax free) diesel per month in their last video. And that included crossing the Pacific...

Hi Keith and Renee! I'm glad you got a pie dish! I'm not a sweets person, but I have a 10" glass pie dish I use for making Quiche. Just a couple cups of flour, some water, salt, oil and baking powder, maybe some sugar (I never measure) and you have a pie crust for about USD$0.50. Happy Christmas to you all! I like your new Fenderteq fenders! I still hope you give a coupon for them because I'm going to need them in the spring and I'd love for you to get a kickback.
BTW, I doubt you would find shortening in the EU because it's about 100% transfats, which I believe were outlawed there even before California outlawed them. Not too good for you! Shortening does outperform butter, but you can sub butter or even a neutral oil (like not olive oil or sesame oil) and get a decent product. Not as flaky, but the crust is a small part of the dish.
I would like to just also agree with Kate that chicken fried steak is far superior to turkey. What is the Zatara crew going to do for Christmas dinner? I usually make prime rib, but my daughter wants lobster, so I bought the frozen tails today. Going to make filet and lobster, plus a lobster bisque. Not an easy menu on a passage, but I would trade places with you and have something different if I could.
