I'm a dad with 2 daughters and an awesome gamer of a wife. When I have the off chance to sit down with my 8yo daughter and play my guitar, she wants this. She has never heard the words, the drums, seen the video. She has only heard a mix of lead and rhythm, and it makes me so happy that she literally whistles the outro

My brother-in-law was the bass player for several years, and I remember the Christmas we spent with him and he brought this video on DVD for us to watch before it has been aired on TV. So awesome. Those were the days.
+Nicholas Manoukian it wasn't too early on. He was with them for about 5 years and recorded with them on Shadows are Security. He's in the Through Struggle and Confined videos doing the clean vocals. That was a great time because I got to be backstage at shows and meet some awesome bands. my favorite people were Killswitch. Adam D was at Clint's bachelor party and bought me a beer. We had a great conversation about film scores and whatnot. Great memories!
1:19 - 1:30 Jordan Mancino circle head banging to that double bass role is what drove my life lol!! it's bad ass in this MV as well as "Through Struggle"!!! \m/
Remembering this from back in the day lol, this was looked at as deathcore and heavy compared to the MySpace bands lol! Still a banger but modern deathcore has evolved to be sonically heavier
I remember hearing this for the first time in high school in like 2003 and my whole world changed. I literally would not be who I am today without this song and this album. Thank you for the memories and the experiences.
I was "inside" when they came out... As I Lay Dying, Underoath, August Burns Red, are some of my favorite bands, and I am literally just discovering all of this music now!!! Gives me hope that 15 years from now some budding fan will discover this song and love it they way that we do...
Actually listen to some other metal. That should take care of it. I double dare you to put that up against Ace of Spades, And Justice for All, Peace Sells, Raining Blood, Altars of Madness, etc al.
I love how directly after the double bass solo(???) (1:20) the entire song slows down just bringing the center of attention back to to the lyrics that this is a song of sorrow. Almost as to show the anger leading up, and after, acceptance to it all. Love this song
one of my bands had the pleasure of opening for them way back, it had to be around 2002 2003 when we did it, was nerve wrecking cause we was not on the same level as these guys but it was an amazing show. one show that we played that i'll never forget.
I was fifteen when my friend showed me this song and was like “dude he has TWO pedals hooked up to his kick drum so he can play drum rolls WITH HIS FEET!!!” This was the moment I knew I was going to be a drummer.
For those of us that are here that remember when this song came out at the time it was something fucking else. We still come back because it hit so hard back in the day, we will never forget it.
My boyfriend died, the person whom I cared so much for, I mean he died in 2013 but this song, it reminds me of him, of us, life at its greatest, true life meaning songs. Marc RIP❤️ this was our song
I remember seeing AILD at the House of Blues in December of '05, when they did their first headliner tour to support Shadows Are Security. They played 94 Hours to open the show. *sit down son, I'm going to tell you a good story* *cries*
Alan Nuri My prediction is that they release music around mid to late June. They've been posting on their social media once every June for the last few years. Last year they posted "Activity". But yeah it's been reported that they've been in full swing since Lambesis was released.

It’s always hella funny how they managed to write some AMAZING shit those first two albums with band member rotation they had. The band has had like 20-30 members. Crazy. Then little things like the sick ass clean vox on Distance is Darkness is their buddy who helped them doing bass during some tours lol. He happened to be in the studio and no one could do the clean vocals well and that dude went in and killllled it 🤘🤘
Song still hits the same as it did in 03 when I was in high school. Who's still listening in 2020?
Of course dooooooood

I saw these fools open for in flames in 04. It was the drummer’s 21st bday. They’ve aged like fine fucking wine.
I just missed the band and searched for old videos. Wow present-day people are also here, cool! 😅
