If you don’t believe it there’s a live performance of this. It was done for a make a wish kid and his family. It’s a small room, real time with no mics it sounds the same
there's a recording of them doing this in a room completely off mic filmed on a cell phone if you search daft punk private performance and it sounds just as good, just with the beatboxing and bass a bit quieter since they seem the raise the levels a bit when mixing but it definitely helps make it believable!
It is PURE a cappella. This is a medley, which means a bunch of songs put together from the band, Daft Punk. Then they do a mash-up at the end. Speaking about medleys on one topic, during the pandemic PTX, in their own individual home recording areas, put together a medley of songs about "HOME". It's called "Home", portraying how many people were at home during the pandemic. I like that one a lot. Thank you for your enthusiastic reaction to PTX. I look forward to more of your PTX reactions.
Daft Punk was big in the electronica scene in the early '00s. This is an amazing medley of a bunch of their songs strung together and I would not have believed you could do an acapella version of their music until I heard Pentatonix do it. The crushed it.
This belongs in the "PTX Dance in Your Chair Mix". This, O Come All Ye Faithful (have to hear to understand), Sing, the MJ Medley, Cheerleader, and lots more. Then, of course, there's the "PTX Cry in Your Chair Mix". But that's for another day. Great reactions!
Popspring 2016 concert. It has three original songs and their Evolution of Michael Jackson. All Live. Most reactors do it in one reaction. It isn’t really that long. The Pentaholics love it! Great reaction to Daft Punk. 💕💕
Pure A Capella, my dear! If you ever hear instruments, you WILL see them in the video. They are a very honest and humble group, and actually quite young! They won the Sing-Off when The Trio (Mitch, Kirstie, and Scott all went to the same school down in Texas) all were only NINETEEN!!!
Pentatonix also has some medleys. The most popular are their "Evolution of..." videos. "Evolution of" -- "Music", "Michael Jackson", "Beyoncé", "Rihanna", "Ariana Grande". And they're less likely to get blocked. Medleys include "90's Dance Medley", "Perfume Medley" (Perfume is a J-pop group), "Nsync Medley", "Home"
Loved watching your reaction to this! Part of what makes it hard to believe there's no guitar, keyboard, etc. is that while some members are singing lyrics, the others are imitating backup instrument sounds by continuous humming and chanting. A great example of this is in their "Sound of Silence" and "Amazing Grace" videos; pay close attention to the bass singer in those -- Matt, the tall black cleanshaven guy. You'll notice that he's often humming -- his mouth is closed but you can hear a deep, melodious sound coming from it, like a very mellow tuba. Also, Daft Punk Kirstie is as cute as a button with her crooked little smile. :)
It’s simple for Pentatonix videos. If an instrument is not shown, it is a cappella. I concur with the recommendation of their live Popspring 2016 performance. Well worth the fifteen minutes.
Thanks for this reaction! Nice to see a another new reactor to Pentatonix who in my opinion is the greatest and most talented group of all times. Love how much you are enjoying their music.
You'll love their 90s Dance Medley! 😅 And you need to see the live private performance video of Daft Punk... Just the 5 of them standing in a room, recorded on a cell phone, and it sounds virtually the same!
Kevin went off on the beats in this one. Another one where Kevin really shines is the official video of their original song, Coffee In Bed. I enjoy tour PTX reactions. Thanks.
Now who else can sing the Prayer, Sound of Silence, and Daft punk medley with no instruments? They are so incredible. Love your reactions. Best try their Rihanna Medley or Cant Hold Us or Havana They don’t miss. ❤️
You are just…. A bit of JOY. Loving your PTX and home free videos. Hope you will check out Mitch and Scott’s side project, Superfruit, sometime. They aren’t usually a cappella, but their medleys and originals are fantastic.
They got their first grammy with this song. Done on a $400. budget and filmed in Avi's closet and edited in the kitchen. This is pure club vibe. Kevin killed it with the beats! The next one should be "Can't hold us".
This won their first of 3 Grammy's. It was recorded in a bathroom and total cost was $400.00. After they won the "Sing Off" one of the prizes was a contract with Sony Music. Not long after Sony dropped them because Sony didn't think their style of music would go anywhere. I have yet to hear one song i don't like. Enjoy your journey, you won't be disappointed .
Your energy and enthusiasm is so refreshing and your smile is very beautiful. I love watching your facial expressions as you discover different sounds and beats. Please more PTX!
I second the Popspring 2016 performance. The History of Michael Jackson is amazing, and that version of Can't Sleep Love is better than any other version. Also, A Ha live at the Star Vista in Singapore is a powerhouse. Avi hit a low note that blew the speakers, and Mitch went completely off the chain. It's a fan video (Kevin is there, I swear) so the audio can be a bit scruffy, but it's their best live performance of anything.
It is amazing what they can do. Kevin is a beatboxing beast. No matter how many times I listen to this song I still get Mitch slapped...lol. You want to listen to another amazing song listen to Love again. Love your reaction!
I am sooo LOVING coming along for your discovery of Pentatonix!! Your reactions are extremely entertaining. I subscribed today. Keep the PTX reaction videos coming!! 💙
All A Cappella (2 words, 2 p-s) yes. No instruments. Their voices are amazing! These are many different songs from Daft Punk: Technologic, One More Time, Get Lucky, Digital Love, Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger, Television Rules the Nation, and Around the World.
Here are a variety of international songs from other cultures that are really cool: The Hu - Yuve Yuve Yu (Mongolian rock) ua-cam.com/video/iOeo-mx0E_Q/v-deo.html Heilung - Hamrer Hippyer (old Viking "heavy metal" performed traditionally) ua-cam.com/video/hNu6FmaUIB0/v-deo.html Japanese Taiko Drumming (kind of a mix between drumming and karate) ua-cam.com/video/FqfkFR_F63s/v-deo.html Hunnu Green (Scottish drumming w/ Mongolian singing) ua-cam.com/video/vztRqe_CHC0/v-deo.html It's funny how the more you hear music from completely different cultures, the more you hear the similarities, not the differences.
Don't worry most Pentaholics have seen the official vid dozens of times. We're here to watch a new person discover this amazing group's extraterrestrial abilities. ♥
They do this live. No instruments. Some EQ, echo/reverb and compression on the sound board. Kevin (beatboxer) and Avi (bass) are a very tight unit on this song. So Avi is doing a much more percussive bass singing style and doing trick things like finishing the bass sound on Kevin's "bass drum" kicks to give it that drum pad sound. Really touchy on the timing. The grammy was for the arrangement, not the video. It was written by Kevin and Avi, but I assume that Ben Bram did some work to polish it up.
Avi is doing the baseline….that’s different than what Kevin does as vocal percussion. Sometimes they compliment each other so that it’s to tell who is doing what and where the sound is coming from, but they are doing different things.
Thank you for reacting to his fun Pentatonix video medley of 7 songs from the French duo, Daft Punk. Glad that you liked it. They are amazing. Please react to Pentatonix "New Rules x Are You That Somebody?".
The Singapore recording is great but it focuses mostly on Mitch. Another good one is a livestream of the 5 of them doing A-Ha. You can really see what Avi ans Kevin are doing in the song. 👍
@@becreative2420 This is true!! Maybe watch both and compare!! Im a bit of a Mitch orientated fan though so....star vista is just phenomenal :) Another AMAZING one just for the scope of what they can do with their voices is "Gold"
Here's the link to the live performance of this that a couple of other comments have mentioned. It's in some kind of meeting room with no mics, a private performance for someone on behalf of the Make-a-Wish foundation -- ua-cam.com/video/tw4YCsHXKgI/v-deo.html It seems to be recorded on a mobile phone that doesn't have enough dynamic range to do Avi justice.
Thank you for that link, Ruth! That was _amazing._ I loved watching them bob and sway and wave their arms, with big smiles on their faces, as they performed that.
To see more of what they can do, check out Scott and Mitch in Superfruit, Kevin Olusola doing either Down or Signs of the Times. Check out Kirstin Maldonado - Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Home Free - Ring of Fire (featuring Avi Kaplan of Pentatonix), and Evolution of Matt Sallee in PENTATONIX (2017-2021). The talent of these people knows no bounds. OR... check ou their start "The Sing Off" Season 3. Things you need to know since you seem like you might be on your way to being a Pentaholic. Blessings
You really want to get your mind blown? They have an original electronic dance style song called "Love Again." If you don't believe that it's all acapella, there's a live version of it where they legitimately sing this in a *hallway* and it sounds unbelievable, but so so real. Highly recommend the studio version and the live version of that one, just to prove it to yourself.
Watch Gold, Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch, Aha live in Singapore, What Feeling is This? Wicked Tribute live, so much more that will blow your mind Kevin has his own channel go listen to Down and prepare to have your mind blown!
Your smile and vibe are simply infectious! I just have seen 3 of your pentatonix videos and I am loving your reactions! I see you did Evolution of music. If you liked that, check out their other Evolutions: Michael Jackson, Arianna Grande, Beyonce, Rhianna...can't go wrong with any of them!
This is my absolute favorite Pentatonix video when I want to feel energized! They are all massively talented but I really miss Avi. Matt is doing a fantastic job with them now. If you want to see what Avi Kaplan is up to since leaving the group, you should do a reaction to his video for Change On The Rise. 😉
You have to check out imagine by Pentatonix life changing and also also check out Kevin’s solo where he kills it on chello beat boxes and sings all at the same time.
Look for Daft Punk "Private Performance", it was filmed in a room, with a bathroom visible to the right rear of the room.Audio quality is not the best since they have no microphones, and it was recorded on a cell phone. Watch that, and then decide if they used anything other than their talented mouth (did not mean for it sound that way)....
You are too much! Keep on down the rabbit hole, friend - I'll enjoy tagging along on your journey! If you want upbeat, complicated stuff that will confuse you about what you're hearing, try Love Again (and there's an awesome live version of that one too), Evolution of Michael Jackson (also available live as part of their Popspring 2016 concert set), Rather Be, Sing, Can't Hold Us, Bohemian Rhapsody, Can't Sleep Love (also part of Popspring), New Rules x Are You That Somebody, Attention (available live), Butter x Dynamite, Love Me When I Don't.
All Acapella! They're doing a Daft Punk Medley. They won a Grammy with this one. Kevin the beatboxer is HARD CORE! So fun seeing you loving the music!
If you don’t believe it there’s a live performance of this. It was done for a make a wish kid and his family. It’s a small room, real time with no mics it sounds the same

It's a mashup of about seven Daft Punk songs.
A capella all day long. Hearing it live is something
one of my top 5 vids all time... Soooo goood!

Definitely check out the beatboxer Kevin Olusola's "KOver" of "Down". You need a chance to focus on him to see what he can do. You won't regret it!
Love Pentatonix ❤️

Ive seen the twice in concert and can guarantee you there are no instruments. That's what makes these guys so freaking incredible !!!!!
Your energy and enthusiasm is so refreshing and your smile is very beautiful. I love watching your facial expressions as you discover different sounds and beats. Please more PTX!
That pure joy on your face - makes this one of my favorite reactions EVER!! 😂❤👍

Amazing Grace please!
I just love how they are all obviously really enjoying themselves 🥰💓
"OMG"! I am having so much fun watching you reacting to PTX's videos. You are very entertaining to watch!
I was jamming out with you watching this video my guy!! Such a blast!! Thanks for this one!!
It is amazing what they can do. Kevin is a beatboxing beast. No matter how many times I listen to this song I still get Mitch slapped...lol. You want to listen to another amazing song listen to Love again. Love your reaction!
They literally sound like a whole production team and it's pure vocals. I just CANNOT get over that🔥🎙🔥🎙....
love watching you react to how amazing they are !
Their cover of Imagine is fabulous.
I am sooo LOVING coming along for your discovery of Pentatonix!! Your reactions are extremely entertaining. I subscribed today. Keep the PTX reaction videos coming!! 💙
Thanks!!
This song won them a Grammy
I love the daft pink mix, my favorite is the sound of silence and the 90's medley
Right before they were to record, the studio. backed out. This was recorded in Avi & Kevin's apartment. This won them their first Grammy.
it is hard to believe.. amazing
Pure acapella with one of the best beatboxers in the business.
Kevin is a human sound pad, my guy. I keep thinking of like a Michael Winslow, but with mad musical talent added. Bananas.
Yep! One of Kevin's nicknames is "The Human 808"
Love your enthusiastic reaction!
Absolutely LOVED your reaction! You're so much fun! Thanks!
Michael Jackson medley is great!
This won a Grammy.
Dancing!!! Be Happy!
Great Reaction!

There is a video clip of their roles in one small clip of this song. Fascinating how complex it is with only 5 people
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Their first Grammy...
Here are a variety of international songs from other cultures that are really cool:
The Hu - Yuve Yuve Yu (Mongolian rock) ua-cam.com/video/iOeo-mx0E_Q/v-deo.html
Heilung - Hamrer Hippyer (old Viking "heavy metal" performed traditionally) ua-cam.com/video/hNu6FmaUIB0/v-deo.html
Japanese Taiko Drumming (kind of a mix between drumming and karate) ua-cam.com/video/FqfkFR_F63s/v-deo.html
Hunnu Green (Scottish drumming w/ Mongolian singing) ua-cam.com/video/vztRqe_CHC0/v-deo.html

They almost never blink!

"That be" the great, the one and only Avriel Kaplan. You done been Avi-shook! 😆👍

Kevin and Avi are unreal in this one, but Kevin is unreal in every song.
You should check out their 90s Dance Medley video..I think you’d enjoy jamming to it 😄💯👌🏼
Aren’t they fun to watch? They are having such a great time - and you look like you are too! 😅
Please please react to them at Star Vista - "A ha!" is the song. Thats them live too....so you can see it is absolutely all a capella!
The Singapore recording is great but it focuses mostly on Mitch. Another good one is a livestream of the 5 of them doing A-Ha. You can really see what Avi ans Kevin are doing in the song. 👍

it is amazing how many reactors don't realize this a medley of Daft Punk songs and not just one single song called Daft Punk. LOL
It is acappella..the very talented Kevin is doing all the beatbox...
Gold...please....Or Can't Hold Us. Both...lol
They recorded this in a closet and filmed the video in Kevin and Avi’s kitchen.
Ok man you have to quit making hilarious expressions 😂 I’m pregnant and I literally peed a little laughing at you!!!!

Honestly i don't care if you don't have the video at all. In my opinion music videos usually distract, and detract from the music.
Right!? They could've done 20 more!! This is an entire vibe.
Best review ever. Love ya

Kevin there beatboxer is sometimes cal a human 808 (and early electric drum machine).
Omg... your reaction to the skipping part of this video was hilarious... yes they are all acapella everything you hear is by voice or body beats...
I LOVE your reactions 🎉
