I'M JOKING!!! I'M KIDDING!!!! NO, the channel is not going away! I'm now getting a lot of emails about this -- sorry for confusion. Though, I may invite some photographer friends to link up and we'll go on a @minecraft quest together. Hey Mojang or @Microsoft, can you add Fujifilm camera objects to the final Caves and Cliffs update?
I know this video is 2-years old, but I am just now learning photography and found the info here incredibly helpful. Thanks so much, you earned a new subscriber.
Great tip with turning on the interlock feature for spot metering! I use spot the majority of the time but I do also have the issue of exposure changing depending on where the focus is set at. Thanks for sharing that tip! Having read other comments, I’m not the only one who appreciated that tip!
I just bought an Fuji Xt3 and a lens. I was browsing some basic things to operate a Fuji. Wow you made me subscribe to your channel. Thank you in making this video. Salute sir.
You're killing it, mate. Even when I know the subject matter, I still find myself tuning in because your videos are enjoyable. That's the way to do it! Have a great day.
Thanks for this video. Earlier this year I upgraded from an X-T2 to an X-T4 and I have had issues with some concert photos with dark backgrounds and performers under lights where the performer is almost blowing out. Tonight I almost went insane trying to find the metering modes while trying to photograph some favorite jazz artists in these conditions. I had to severely reduce the exposure compensation to get close to reasonable results and that did not seem right. In the dark I couldn’t tell if I had forgotten which dial had the metering modes. Anyway, as you explained, the problem is I had the eye detect on and deep down the multi metering mode was also active without me seeing that or knowing how to change it. I can’t believe I didn’t pick up on that before. Glad to know better now but aggravated that Fuji set up the menus this way and also got rid of the metering mode dial. Thanks again.
The detailed explanation of the histogram, access, usage, meaning is going to be most helpful and eagerly anticipated. Please remember there are many Newbies, like myself, who find this info confusing when not detailed slowly. Thanks
I always use spot metering, check the histogram, then lock the exposure. I never bother with any of the other metering modes. But now I know how the other metering modes work. 🙂
Been struggling with getting good exposure using spot metering despite knowing how useful it can be, your explanation and tip about the interlocking was very helpful, thank you
Thank you for being a good teacher with beginners like me. I really understood this better! You're also the reason why I'm seriously considering switching from Canon to Fujifilm. Great job!

I just bought a Fuji X-S10 and thanks to your videos I can handle the camera better.
I asked a year ago after watching this useful video whether center-weighted metering could be linked to the focus point as spot metering can be. I just did an experiment on my X-T2, and it can't! I think it would be very useful to be able choose between frame center and focus point for center-weighted metering as you can for spot metering. I hope you can use your influence with Fujifilm to make this happen!
Well, after owning my X-T3 for a few years, I finally understand what the Interlock Spot and AE setting does. Also the Photometry setting being dulled out is now solved. Many Thanks
I seriously learn something every time I watch your videos. I didn’t know about the interlock feature. I literally turned on my X-T4 and turned that on right away so was watching. Thank you for the awesome tips as always.
Two month Fuji user here (switched from Sony largely due to your videos). Love your content as you always clear up the confusion I get by reading the manual! Keep up the great work!
You‘ve got to be kidding me! I’ve been runnkng into issues (very underexposed photos) on my X-T2 lately, while never encountering that on my X-T4. Also, the dial for this setting is present on the X-T2, but not on the X-T4 - and here you are with the video covering this exact topic! Thanks, Chris!
Thank you so much for making these videos - they are amazing! I recently got a Fujifilm XT-3, and your videos have been an invaluable resource for me to rapidly get more familiar with the camera system, especially since this camera is my first Fuji camera. Looking forward to watching more!
Amazing vid, Chris! Thank you! I fell in love with photography since 2016, and I was only using my phone camera back then; because of your videos, I purchased the XT5, and I'm loving every single aspect of it!
Thanks you so much for this nice video. Without your videos I definitely wasn't using my camera as I do know! I wish I could donate for your time and sharing your knowledge. Have a great weekend!
Once again, critical knowledge shared and illustrated succinctly. Much appreciated. And yes, please, a video on the histogram with Fuji cameras would be welcome.
Your channel is just amazing, I appreciate all you are teaching. Coming from a film background, you are making the transition of moving to these computers that take pictures (digital cameras) much easier. I had only two controls after I put the film into the camera, Shutter Speed and Aperture, all metering was done with hand-held meters. You mentioned the metering selections are not available in the Face/Eye Detect mode. In that mode, where is the camera selecting its metering point? If it's coupling with the face, and it's a caucasian skin tone, the meter is metering off of zone VI which will underexpose the face by about a stop, if it's metering off of dark skin it will overexpose about a stop. I imagine the histogram makes understanding light metering obsolete, however old habits are hard to break. Thanks again for all your explanation of the Fuji camera settings, without your channel, I would still be on the page in the manual that tells how to put the strap on the camera!
Thank you, Chris. I'm glad you brought this up as I tend to leave the Fuji in one setting and not use the rest. I like something fast for birds that may move within a second, and auto focus with the back button. Have a great weekend, too!
Chris, you're the best! You make learning fun again. Always looking forward to your videos even when I've already learned what you're teaching, I can still pick up a thing or two! I love it. Keep up the great work. I can't wait to see the histogram video, I've watched some but no one explains it that well and I know you'll make it fun and exciting.
Excellent as always. Since I use back button focusing and generally spot metering (I really like it for a lot of things I do) I often decouple focuse and metering so that I can focus on what I want and keep the shutter half pressed once I find the right exposure. That then allows me to recompose and shoot without loosing neither the metering nor the focus
Pal2Tec, I LOVE your channel. I purchased a Fuji X-T4 a few days ago, solely on your review. It’s way more complex than my old 35mm camera 📷. So please Don’t change your channel to gaming 😢 I’m relying on your tutorials to help me understand how to best use this camera 🤪 . So thankful for what you’re doing with this channel 👍
Thanks Scott!!! That's awesome about the XT4. You are going to get some AWESOME shots on that incredible machine!!!! When you get up to speed w/ it, send me your IG link so I can see what you're up to!!! Have a great weekend!!!
Always helpful and informative, thanks. You’re the reason I went back and re bought my x-t30 as a small walk around 9instead of my door). I was confused with it as it was so different however finding your videos has convinced me to keep trying as it’s a lovely camera
Chris - the histogram video will helpful but not just for a normal well lit scene but the ones where it’s low light or exposing for snow or the sun and so on…been able to look at the feedback from the metering and making a creative choice would be so cool 😎
Your Fujifilm specific settings explanations are by and far the best-paced, informative, and non-biased of all the UA-camrs. A very heartfelt thank you! I think to myself often, I know how a setting works in my camera. But then you explain the very specific setting connected to it that changes it. These fast Fridays are my favorite.
Excellent overview of photometry options. I’ve finally realised why you would want to move the focus point of centre. Yeah I’m a slow learner🤪 Right, off to find your histogram video.
I’m not a Fuji user but I like to use spot if my subject has something like the sun behind them so I can get their face exposed properly. It might blow out the background but the face is the priority in this situation.
Chris you are a wonderful teacher & I have learnt lots from you, I am carrying a Fujifilm XT4 camera and after seeing your video on "Metering Modes of Fujifilm Cameras" I have offed the face /eye detections in settings, but still metering mode (PHOTOMETRY) is unselect able, can you please guide me what further settings I should check on this .

could you perhaps talk about dynamic range once? I really don't get it that well.
I have believed your joke about ceasing this valuable channel. I've been on the verge of a heart attack ... don't be so cruel, please ...

As a fujifilm shooter, this channel is the best for learning to master my camera/tool, thank you.
Would love to see a full video on histogram! Also have a great weekend
You got it! You too by the way!! 👍
Did he not promised a video on the color histogram a while ago? Also i am binging avery video! Keep em coming!
Please, do a histogram for b&w and color photos!!! Awesome channel!

Thanks Aaron!!!! 🙏 🙏
