The sad part is that there's so much cut content in the original games, especially in the vehicle department. There was even going to be a story mission in BF2 where you fought the Antitroopers in space.
Gamers will always complain. "Why did they change the game", "they didn't change enough" "just being back all the cut content" "just make it open world"
Its crazy, when I looked at the reviews of the original 2005 BF on steam weeks before the collection dropped, every single review was, "The collection is not gonna work." "Og will still be better" "It's gonna be a cash grab." It all came true, an utterly painful disappoint and the worst business decision ever done.
Well, yeah, because the Collection is just a reselling of those games to us. Steam players have been able to play on MP for years now and have had access to mods to bring maps, heroes and even vehicles into the game and *actually* remaster the game via HarrisonFog's Battlefront 2 Remaster mod which make every unit and vehicle look *sooo* good
Well its easy money for these companies. Gamers are so easy prey for them. Whatever crazy shit they come up with all nerds are dumping all their money to them.
The worst part about this is if this went well it possibly could've gotten the greenlight for a battlefront 3 or at least a Rogue Squadron remaster/brought to PC
If you’re referring to Rogue Squadron of the N64, it is indeed already on pc, for like 10 bucks (if that) on steam. If you’re referring to its sequels, I wholeheartedly agree. RS3 does NOT like being emulated
I saw someone point out that they probably just upscaled every texture to 4k, even the ones that benefit basically not at all from it. Resulting in a massive increase in file size of textures alone.
Think what pissed me off more than the actual game was the sheer amount of people I saw online either defending this piece of shit or even blaming the people who got excited for it. Even worse was I read someone basically type out an article that said that anyone who ever expects any game, especially AAA games, to be complete and not run like a piece of shit are in the wrong. That we need to NOT have as high expectations for AAA games because IT’S HARDER FOR AAA GAME DEVS TO MAKE A BETTER GAME THAN SMALLER STUDIOS OR EVEN INDIE STUDIOS. So yeah, everyone, if a large studio makes a game we aren’t allowed to hold them to a high standard, because with all those employees and all that funding they can’t make as good a game as much smaller studios with lower budgets. I’m looking at you Larion with Baldur’s Gate 3 and you ArrowHead with Helldivers 2.

This upsets me in 2 different ways: it upsets me now. Worse, it upsets little me from 2005... this game blew my mind when i played the OG Battlefront 1 demo inside at my local Gamestop on their demo Xbox station. My cherished memories have been brought back to the present to be dragged through the mud and tarnished. Like you said at the end, "this cut deep."
See, that's odd, because I did get the feeling that they removed some cutscenes from the game. But the one you mentioned about the clones' feelings about Secura was in my Switch port. There was one other cutscene with a memorable line I remember: "Suddenly... we realized the Jedi could be fooled. And if they could be fooled, they could be killed." That was not in the game. Weird.
Honestly, the reason that battlefield is such a hard concept for companies to make is because executives believe that it will sell based on IP and legacy. Pandemic made a quality game that happened to be star wars themed. Everyone else set out to make a game functional enough to sell based on the star wars and battlefront IP.
Imagine doing a three gen way back port...... and end up somehow missing lines of code. Imagine corporations being held accountable for hiring these smaller companies, knowing they would do a bad job, but at least the top end saved enough money to afford their new car this month.

I mean at this point, it’s on the gamers. I never buy new games, cause I’m never hyped. I just wait to see what happens and almost everytime; it’s trash and the gamers are mad they pre ordered or bought on day one after being conned numerous times lol

That Galactic Conquest idea with UA-camrs battling it out with their fans sounds genuinely awesome
Even if it wasn't just UA-camrs. If you can just randomly join two people playing galactic conquest as their soldiers, that would be so cool.

Yeah, I hate hate these companies ruining one cherished game after another with shitty remakes
See, that's odd, because I did get the feeling that they removed some cutscenes from the game. But the one you mentioned about the clones' feelings about Secura was in my Switch port. There was one other cutscene with a memorable line I remember:
"Suddenly... we realized the Jedi could be fooled. And if they could be fooled, they could be killed."
That was not in the game. Weird.
Honestly, the reason that battlefield is such a hard concept for companies to make is because executives believe that it will sell based on IP and legacy. Pandemic made a quality game that happened to be star wars themed. Everyone else set out to make a game functional enough to sell based on the star wars and battlefront IP.
100%...... pandemic would be rolling in their graves if they saw this disaster
Imagine doing a three gen way back port...... and end up somehow missing lines of code. Imagine corporations being held accountable for hiring these smaller companies, knowing they would do a bad job, but at least the top end saved enough money to afford their new car this month.
At this point they should just put the actual old Battlefront 1 and 2 games on all next gen consoles for free as an apology. I’m so glad I was gonna wait to buy this. Like how hard was it to just take the base game and maybe update the graphics a little?
