I'm watching the Mentalist for the second time and just finished 7x10 "Nothing Gold Can Stay". It's hands down one of the best episodes in the entire show and this song fits Vega's funeral perfectly.
Letters from the Sky: Lyrics. One of these days the sky's gonna break And everything will escape and I'll know One of these days the mountains Are gonna fall into the sea and they'll know That you and I were made for this I was made to taste your kiss We were made to never fall away Never fall away One of these days letters are gonna fall From the sky, telling us all To go free But until that day I'll find a way To let everybody know that you're coming back Mhmm, you're coming back for me 'Cause even though you left me here I have nothing left to fear Fears are only walls that hold me here Hold me here Hold me here Hold me here Only walls that hold me here One day soon I'll hold you like the sun Holds the moon And we will hear those planes overhead And we won't have to be scared 'Cause we won't have to be Scared, oh 'Cause we won't have to be, yeah, scared, no You're coming back for me You're coming back for me You're coming back for me You're coming back for me You're coming back for me You're coming back for me You're coming back for me You're coming back for me You're coming back for me You're coming back for me You're coming back for me You're coming back for me Scared You're coming back for me You're coming back for me You're coming back for me You're coming back for me You're coming back to me You're coming back to me You're coming back for me You're coming back

You have described to a T my reaction to this from the first time I saw it, 13 years ago, to the present. For me, it is perfection; the respect for the drama of the song in the choice of B&W, placing Steven at a grand piano on a concert stage, the slow reveal of Richard and Andrew behind the piano, giving each musician their close up "scenes" to display their individual virtuosity. This is, certainly, my favorite song of the first decade of the Millenium. And then some...
I remember having problems, and listening to this.🎵 I remember looking at the stars thinking that those problems were never going away. ✨ I still have problems, but there not as bad as they were. "You can't have me." That sentence just broke my heart and watching Chloe fall with this song in the background just smashed my heart in pieces. It was that scene that introduced me to the band.
Honestly there are a lot of songs I associate directly with pieces of media and think of the specific scenes when I hear them but this song is the only one where I can still hear the exact dialogue being said and see the frame-by-frame shots of the episode. Which is wild because I haven't watched Harper's Island in eight years, that scene just...... idk. It just got to me.
First time I heard this song... watching the show Shameless, when Lip tried so hard to help his alcoholic college professor, but in the end, the professor just didn't want help. Lip goes to visit professor Youens in jail, and they played this song in the background. It's a very powerful scene, and a very powerful song.
The "I am number Four" movie brought me here too. This song fits so many things in my life..all of there music does...My best friend died in my arms on Christmas Eve and it hurts like hell. We are not alone. No one leaves forever... I will see my best friend again one day......and then we will never fall again..........

Am I the only one, or is someone else crying everytime you hear that song? I'm literally thinking about my life and about myself and everything.. Am I totally crazy now?
You gotta watch the UA-cam video of this song playing to the twin tower jumpers. Its extremely haunting how the words pretty much describe what 9/11 was. Letters from the sky- everyone said all they could see was paper falling...planes over head...people suffering to death up there thinking someone is going to come back for them...its crazy how this song matches up. :/
Civil Twilight was a band capable of producing true magic. Gentle and melancholic yet masculine, with beautiful metaphorical lyrics and subdued instrumental work. Great sense of form and, of course, a unique, clean and deeply emotional voice of Steven McKellar. The three albums are very different, with top-notch songwriting being the chief common trait. So sad they couldn't find the commercial success they deserved and eventually broke up. The frontman recently released a solo album, but it's nothing like the band's records.
I absolutely loved what you wrote. Many of my favorite bands made less than 5 albums in their classic eras, usually breaking up after 3. One way to look at it, is at least they never had the chance to go bad. They left behind (badum tss) albums of equal quality before bowing out. The only thing worse than a band not making music anymore is a band that winds up making awful music. I hated that new Coldplay album so much.
The first time I heard this, I was at a friend's house sleeping over there for the first time. I fell asleep but some of the others stayed up and watched some movies. Sometime past midnight, I woke up to hear this song playing in the other room. The others had been watching the movie #4 and this was the song in the credits, but I didn't know any of that until later. It was a really cool and surreal experience hearing this while I was really sleepy in the middle of the night.
I woke up w this song in my head. I know this is not a religious song but I hear God in every second of it. Jesus loves us more than we could ever imagine. He is coming back.
The Linkin Park Chester Memorial that's on UA-cam. Id highly recommend watching the whole thing if you haven't already, but Steven McKellar sings "Nobody Can Save Me" with the band at about 50 min in. ua-cam.com/video/9VoLHdADma8/v-deo.htmlm20s
I'm a teenager and I do MMA and I fought a guy named Jace Rodriguez and when we fought the first time I lost the fight I had cracked ribs, torn ACL and ruptured herniated disc. I was out for 9 months. Finally I made my return and this song helped me through it. When we fought the 2nd time I got the win and got my redemption. A few weeks later they made a video about our 1st fight to me recovering to my redemption and they used this song in it. thank u Civil Twilight
I keep coming back because this song is absolutely perfect but also because it is telling us a story that so many don't want to hear. Today, especially, I pray for SA and hope that peoplr learn to live together and stop the hatred.
This has personal meaning for me right now as my mother just passed away Tuesday morning April 13th 2021. She was 91 and had a full life but she was plagued in her last year or so with dementia. Thankfully she knew all of us but then would get confused and call us by other family names usually her brothers or sisters. My heart is broken but I take solace and the line of the song that says "even though you left me here I have nothing Left to fear these are only walls that hold me here"
I love The Originals so much. Not only b'cuz Joseph Morgan is handsome but also b'cuz they have so much family things to discover and everything have connected with other things, that is much closer to the real life, and they usually have so much fantastic songs that I can listen to it again and again.
One of the great songs of our time. I gained consciousness because of you and I want to give you my blessings. You are here now. No matter your time, the "here and now" is your only real time. Appreciate it. Don't waste it like I did. Enjoy this song as much as I do. Every day. Every moment. As long as we both breath, we breath the same air. Be kind. Be joyous. Be you. Yourself. Always. This is my wish for you. Yours sincerely, your Mother Gaia
There is really something special about this song because whenever I listen to it I feel some kind of a connection and I relate to things that i’ve experienced in my existence or start thinking about my future. It fits incredibly to movies and cinematic videos. I hope this band gets more recognition. Ps: Steven voice is one of a kind❤
This song is so good. Gives me goosebumps. I still remember vividly the first time I heard this song. It was 2009, I was in high school. A mini-series called Harper's Island was airing at the time and it played in one of the episodes during a pretty heartbreaking scene. This song has stuck with me ever since.
"Last year, at Wrestlemania, I told every single person who had listened that I needed to win that match..... and I failed...." -John Cena The rest is history...🔥
I Am Number Four introduced me to them. Many things have made me come back to them over the years. Most recently it was Shameless. Still a phenomenal song.

Letters from the Sky: Lyrics.
One of these days the sky's gonna break
And everything will escape and I'll know
One of these days the mountains
Are gonna fall into the sea and they'll know
That you and I were made for this
I was made to taste your kiss
We were made to never fall away
Never fall away
One of these days letters are gonna fall
From the sky, telling us all
To go free
But until that day I'll find a way
To let everybody know that you're coming back
Mhmm, you're coming back for me
'Cause even though you left me here
I have nothing left to fear
Fears are only walls that hold me here
Hold me here
Hold me here
Hold me here
Only walls that hold me here
One day soon I'll hold you like the sun
Holds the moon
And we will hear those planes overhead
And we won't have to be scared
'Cause we won't have to be
Scared, oh
'Cause we won't have to be, yeah, scared, no
You're coming back for me
You're coming back for me
You're coming back for me
You're coming back for me
You're coming back for me
You're coming back for me
You're coming back for me
You're coming back for me
You're coming back for me
You're coming back for me
You're coming back for me

I'm here because of Chester...Thank you, Steven for contributing your beautiful voice to honor him. It was perfect ❤

I'm from wwe
One of songs that make me proud of being a South African. 🇿🇦
HES COMING BACK FOR ME NOW! He’s taking me back home to Montana where I belong! Thank you Civil Twilight!!
Congrats on the W and may you do well in your career
@@sandijames6409 thx man u don't know how much that means to me
I haven't heard this song in forever. Wow the nostalgia.
Still hits hard when you're down.
Tough times don't last but tough men do.
My heart is broken but I take solace and the line of the song that says "even though you left me here I have nothing Left to fear these are only walls that hold me here"
Harper's Island.......one of the most moving scenes I have ever seen in a show. Thank you for introducing me to this awesome band!
One of those rare songs that haunts you forever. Bad ass beautiful! There is a another video that is equally as beautiful.
2022. wonderful song. just heard for first time
"That you and I were made for this
I was made to taste your kiss
We were made to never fall away
Never fall away".... Gets me in my feels every time.
"l Chose Booze, long time ago".
Professor Youens last words.
One of the saddest scenes I have ever seen, kills me every time😢

It’s about Jesus and the second coming
1 of the most beautiful songs I've heard in the last 20 years...FACTZ!!!!
2020 and this song still makes me cry
There is really something special about this song because whenever I listen to it I feel some kind of a connection and I relate to things that i’ve experienced in my existence or start thinking about my future. It fits incredibly to movies and cinematic videos. I hope this band gets more recognition.
Ps: Steven voice is one of a kind❤
A true masterpiece that will remembered as a classic in years to come
Rest in peace Windham Rotunda Bray Wyatt I Love You I had to come listen to this song to escape for a while
This song is out of this world.🤔Beautifully written.
This song is so good. Gives me goosebumps. I still remember vividly the first time I heard this song. It was 2009, I was in high school. A mini-series called Harper's Island was airing at the time and it played in one of the episodes during a pretty heartbreaking scene. This song has stuck with me ever since.
This is one of the best song I have heard in my life. Materpiece !
"Last year, at Wrestlemania, I told every single person who had listened that I needed to win that match..... and I failed...."
-John Cena
The rest is history...🔥
Chester loved this guy's voice!
I Am Number Four introduced me to them. Many things have made me come back to them over the years. Most recently it was Shameless. Still a phenomenal song.
That part with Lip talikg to Youens in prison. They tried. Everybody so goddamn tried. I tried...... Now how is this about me now? lol
Harper Island - The Mystery of the Island ???
Holy cow I had completely forgot that show 😳
so good! That's how I remember this song. I can't forget that scene. "You can't have me"

Me too. It was so touching
This song makes my heart beat almost out of my chest. So strong n so emotional. Waiting for the person this song will resonate with.
It’s about Jesus and the second coming.
The fact these guys are from my home town makes me incredibly proud. Also The Originals brought me here.
Do u know what happened to these guys by any chance they haven't posted a video for like five years 😕
@@kaveen5931 The last time I heard about them was when they left for LA, they did a couple of concerts in Cape Town a while back but other than that, I don't where they are. It's a pity because they're all talented
@@kylominylo I always discover best bands ahter they brokeup 😭
This song reminds me a lot of Cody Rhodes, just like Cena will get his revs at WrestleMania after losing
Epic drums towards the end.
