I think you are so cool. I also live in a GMC vandura 1990. I bought mine in Tempe Arizona for $600. And I do a lot of traveling and camping. Next step is to purchase a hotdog trailer to support my adventures.
First build is always a testing time, ideas put into place and then thoughts reconsidered. Vanlife is like everything else, its trial and error and at least you had the gumption to say yu messed up as we all do - so good on you for not glossing it over.
I HAVE A 1992 GMC G20 CONVERSION VAN. IT THE SAME AS YOUR VAN. 2 YEARS ZND I'VE ONLY HAD TO REPLACE MY FRONT BRAKE PADS ONLY. I LOVE GM & CHEVROLET VANS. 👍 YOU and your Grandpa did a GR8T BUILD OUT ON YOUR VAN.😃
And Forest Gump we saw in the video. Poor bastard, he prob found out he's in the friend zone when he watched the video when she made it clear...this is my friend... Hope he doesnt simp for the next year while she's out hooking up with hippy van dudes.
I have a 95 gmc that I want to convert to a high top that I'm going to design and build and eventually I want to make 4x4 so thank you for the inspiration.
I just bought a very similar van today but slightly newer (95) with the same kind of foldable bed. It's crazy but I had drawn out my van plan and it looks very similar to yours too! I can feel the contentment you have and I'm beyond STOKED to start living the beautiful simple life!
Great video and keep up the good work. I bought my first van last week and am excited about having a place to sleep in on long road trips. So I share your excitement!
I can see that you love camping and the outdoors....thats very refreshing to see not only from a female but from someone so young! ....so rare today, since most people are so caught up in the internet! ....so great to see.....keep the vids coming, I would like to see your adventures.
Haha yes I quite enjoy being outside as much as I can! & don’t worry! There’s still a ton of young folks(females included) who are interested in the same things I am!
This is totally awesome! I’ve been looking for anyone who also had a Starcraft Van, I just got an 89 Starcraft van and am working on making it a camper, your video has just given me so many great ideas! Love it!!!!!
Great video, thanks, good ideas for my 1979 GMC Vandura 25 , altough it is already , made by "Comtempo" in 1979/80. Greatings from Patagonia, Argentina.-
We added an 18" plywood extenson behind the folding seat/bed and added a queen sized air mattress. Under this was a microwave and kitchen supplies. We used a cheap screen room as a kitchen and living area. I also added a window AC in the left rear window. When RV campground camping we had everything we needed except a bathroom. A coffee can and a themos bottle came in handy when restrooms were not available. We had all sorts of tents and RV's. Van camping was the most fun of all. On long drives we didn't have to go back to camp. Wherever we were, we were at camp.
Thank you 🙏 you have inspired me to buy my own van and go out and explore the world and see what my journey brings. Stay safe and cozy out in your journey😇
How about more videos? You got off to a fast start. People love hearing about van life. My wife and I own a van that we can live in. However, thus far we use it as a base for running races, trail races and hiking. Good luck.
I have been looking around for a van. I had a 1972 C20 with some performance mods on the engine. I had it in the early 1980s and my young son and I used it as a basecamp for hiking, fishing and backcountry canoeing trips. I had most of the summer off back in those days. Now I am retired.
@@Chris_at_Home That sounds so fun! Will you get a new van and continue van life? I found mine after looking for 9 months. I found it on Facebook marketplace.
@@margiesvanmoriWe will use it to commute between up here and the a warmer destination in the winter. We would also use it some up here in the summer, but mainly we spend summers at home or the remote cabin. Alaska has changed since I first came here with most places along the road system are crowded in the summer. I’d buy a used one, but more modern. I’ve always been a Chevy guy, but I do like the newer Ford Transit vans. I can build many things and would finish it myself.
It had a 3rd captain seat with a swivel set, I gifted the whole thing to a friend for their future van & I had a bench seat at the back which I left in a staff lounge at a camp I used to work at

It’s a really clean, beautiful design. My grandparents had a similar camper van, maybe even the same year and model, and I was obsessed with it. I’m still trying to figure out which van would be right for my future camper 🤔

Random question. Were your seatbelt shoulder straps orginial or did they have to be installed? My GMC only comes with a lapbelt.

I’d love to buy one of these vans one day , wondering if they still make them ? For a newer one
I could be wrong but I believe they stopped making vanduras (specifically) in 1996!
So do I very much
