  • Each winter I spend some time in Yellowstone National Park looking for Foxes, Otters, Bison, Wolves, Bobcats and whatever else I can find and photograph. This trip did not disappoint as I was able to photograph many of these beautiful animals.
    Yellowstone in the winter is extremely cold and the weather can be very harsh but the animals here are well adapted to the temperatures and weather. Over the span of a few days, I endure the weather and find many amazing animals.
    National Parks can be great places to find and observe wildlife, the animals here can be more tolerant than animals elsewhere but it's still important to remember to give them space and respect. Ethical observation and photography is essential to preserve these wonderful places, do you part and enjoy the amazing National Parks!

    Another great outing, Jimmy. Wildlife photography in the winter is the best. Really enjoyed the Red Fox. Up until last week, I had not seen a Red Fox in thirty years in the area I live in. Though I never got a photo of it, it was very special to see. Hoping our paths will cross again one of these days. Keep up the nice work. Your videos are most enjoyable.👍👍

    I loved seeing the diversity of wildlife you photographed and got on video. The black socks on the fox were adorable! Great images and video! It looked frigid though. We've never gone to Yellowstone as a family and the last time I was there was as a kid. Time to remedy that.

    I loved this. Between 2000 and 2010 I was going out to Yellowstone every year. What a wonderful place. One of my favorite trips was in April, the solitude and snow still in most places was wonderful. This trip of yours reminds me of that. Making me want to set aside some time for another Yellowstone adventure.

    You know, my list of stuff to do outside of work is getting longer but visiting Yellowstone National Park will always be on top of that list. Frustratingly no matter how many times I say I’m going to visit the park that year, I always have to include travel, accommodation and equipment (ranging from clothes to camera equipment) and all their costs. Then I’d go back to thinking of all bills I need to pay on a weekly basis at home and end up putting those weekly bills first. Then end up thinking that it would be cheaper and less hassle just to go on holiday in my own country 😅. I hate thinking like adult sometimes 🙄. However, all that aside, one day I will make the visit to Yellowstone Stone National Park and it’ll be a long stay!

    • @JimmyBreitenstein
      @JimmyBreitenstein  3 роки тому +1

      You'll make it some day! It's a wonderful place to visit and I recommend that when you do you also visit some of the other nearby National Parks. The while area is just gorgeous and full of awesome animals. You can do Yellowstone quite affordably depending on which season you visit in. What time of year were you thinking of visiting?

      @@JimmyBreitenstein well it definitely won’t be the summer because that’s my busiest period for work. It would most likely be from the end of September to around about the middle of December. That’s kinda the amount of time I’d like to spend there but I also have a very long list of restaurant kitchens I’d like to work in, in my own country. I might take a little time off at some point to visit the park but that won’t be for very long time. As the UK has been on lockdown since the beginning of November and still is on lockdown now and for the foreseeable future. At this current moment in time, I’m very hungry to work and learn. You just can’t win in life! 😂🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🙄😎👊

    • @JimmyBreitenstein
      @JimmyBreitenstein  3 роки тому +1

      Well in my opinion that's the best time to visit. I hope you can find some time to come out. It's hard to win for sure, just gotta prioritize and do the best we can I guess 🤷‍♂️ When you do make it out here, let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks for the good job Jimmy, it's always a pleasure to look at a new video. Love the image and the narration too. One technical question for you: do you find your 150-600mm a bit soft at 600mm, or were you able to fine tune it too its limit? I plan to buy one for my 1Dx mkII, would you recommend it?

    • @JimmyBreitenstein
      @JimmyBreitenstein  3 роки тому

      Thanks so much, I'm glad you enjoyed! I absolutely love the Tamron 150-600mm, it's a great lens for the cost. I love it specifically for the range it gives me while I'm backpacking and such. I have found that it gets a bit soft over 400mm or so if the light isn't perfect. Hope this helps!

      Thank you 😁 They keep the road from Gardiner to Silver Gate open to cars in the winter, most of the others are accessible via snowmobile (by permit).

    • @JimmyBreitenstein
      @JimmyBreitenstein  3 роки тому

      The great thing about Yellowstone is that there is a lot of wildlife all around throughout the entire year. Spend the time looking and you'll find animals. If you only have a day or two in the park, consider going out with one of the local guides to help you find the animals. I hope you find what you're looking for. I know this isn't extremely helpful, but wildlife photography usually isn't 😁

      Thanks so much for the feedback, I appreciate your input! I often go in cycles of liking close up portraits and then focusing on more wildscapes and such, it's hard to do it all 😆
