thank you now in 2022. iam planning to get this. and just learned the difference between japan version and k version. made in japan made it worth for me to spend 15usd more aswell. thank you
The NATO strap is designed for the CWC type of watch that doesn't have spring bars between the lugs but fixed bars. That is the reason for the small part of the strap also for added security. Jan Davey ex RN.
I got the same watch too. Had it for few years now and zero problems with it. Just upgrade it to Zulu straps. Thinking about upgrading the glass to sapphire though.
" made in japan" could mean anything these days , Louis vuitton shoes are made in Romania and then sent back to france for final "assembly" then they can legaly say " made in france "
I’ve just ordered today the Seiko SNZG15J1 Black dial model of this to add to my watch collection. It will be my first seiko. I like what you said about that nato strap. May I ask what brand it is and where you got it? Thank you.
I have the SNZG15J1 and that is a great timepiece, too. It’s just that it’s beadblasted. I have mine on a nice thick black leather band with contrasting stitching, which also looks great. What I would like Seiko to do is a similar looking timepiece with a one or two way rotating bezel, that could either be countup or a countdown inlay. Incidentally, my one only loses about 2 seconds per day, which is much better than my beloved SKX007.
I have not got this particular watch but do have two SEIKO 5's. The first one I purchased about 15 years ago and it is still going strong but does need regulating now. I recently purchased a Seiko 5 Sports watch and it is really nice and so far keeps good time. They are great watches for the price.
I just got a thing for the made in Japan. However, here in Sweden I have to order it from Japan (ofc haha). Is it worth the extra hassle? I'll have warranty if I buy it without made in Japan but it just looks so cool
@@MagnumBTS I've just been swimming on a pool, and everithing is cool: some 3 mts immersions, and so far so good with it. It fell form my wrist about a month ago, and start to loose 45 secs a day!!!!!.... The SNZG15K1 is made in Korea and the SNZG15J1 is made in Japan , the Japan made one is a few Quid more, i have the one made in Japan with a brown leather strap gives it an older military look, relay nice watch.
Great video, good view points, and good info. I really liked the strap breakdown and attachment of said strap. I would have liked to see the lume with how it would appear, but thats something easy to look up anyway. I'm convinced, I am purchasing this watch the next chance I get.
I own this watch too. I've tried and failed to find anything superior in build durability/quality or clarity of the information on the face, and that's including Hamilton field watches in the £300 - £600 region. Don't think about it, just buy one.
I Just bought one on amazon exactly like this one except the face is blue and still waiting for it to arrived. after watching this video I am very happy and exciting about this. I love the fact that It made in Japan. Anything that made in China should go down to the toilet.
So I got this watch for me and my brother. I can't explain why I bought it at the same store, but it has made in Japan and one does not has. Is that fake? Please someone help me answer it. I appriciate a lot.
Dear Sir A very extensive critique however, you totally left out the history of the face design. It is bases on the German Fleiger type B dial design.A copy of the Laco design from WWII. Regards
The MADE IN JAPAN text is just that, text. Japan is a very, very expensive place to manufacture, and only the most expensive Seikos get made there. $100 Seiko 5 watches are made in China, Malaysia, or Singapore by robots that were made in Japan, and are still perfectly good.
That's not correct, John. Seiko watches labeled as "MADE IN JAPAN" are assembled in Japan, and not in any of the surrounding Asian countries. Whether watches made in Japan are more reliable when compared to watches made in surrounding Asian countries is a completely different question of *personal* taste. Regardless, Seiko makes great watches. Thanks for watching and liking!
Nah, they dont have to be made in Japan. Japanese law allow to put "Made in Japan" even if watch isnt made in Japan. thewatchface.com/seiko-made-in-japan-really-made-in-japan/
No man, do some research on watchuseek Only Grand Seiko and Spring Drives are made in Japan The rest is outsourced It’s infeasible for watches under $1000 to be made in Japan due to expensive labor and manufacturing costs

Your video is a gift that keeps giving. I just got mine ( after watching) in the cream version.
Totally agree. The best automatic that I have ever used, regardless the price.
I own the watch since 7 years ago. One day I lost my watch. One week later I found it inside washing machine. It was still working fine. Nice watch!

Seiko final watch assembly outside Japan, are in China, Thailand and Malaysia.
But other than Japan they are still original right?
I think the point is 'I love this watch'
malaysia, not singapore
Mine was Made in Japan. Bought it in a hipster store in Manchester, UK in 2014.
Super nice watch ! Could you share the name of the nato supplier? Thanks!.
I got the same watch too. Had it for few years now and zero problems with it. Just upgrade it to Zulu straps. Thinking about upgrading the glass to sapphire though.
I bought a Japanese made one also, and I love it !!!!
I've owned this watch in the metal bracelet version now for about 2 years and it is my fave! I own a number of seikos and this is my fave
" made in japan" could mean anything these days , Louis vuitton shoes are made in Romania and then sent back to france for final "assembly" then they can legaly say " made in france "
good point!!
Or the Chinese factory in southern Italy made shoes and give labels “Made in Italy” not the same craftsmanship and ethics of Italian!!!! Go figure!
@@duongjoseph This is exactly what they do, the label doesn't need to say "Made in Italy by the lowest bidder"

@@sumone6213 Can I ask how accuracy it go a day now? faster/slower how many seconds a day? how many minutes a month?
Ryan Ray calm down. It was just me being cheeky. I care about the reviews I do and hope it helps people.
Thanks for the video,
Orderd one today, do you know what the colour of your strap is called or do you maybe even got a link ? Kind of dig it.
Thanks
I got one recently - green dial & made in Japan - and it’s a great watch with excellent Lume. Overall I’m very happy with it.

Tension on pins is reduced with a 5 ring nato, not a 3 ring as in this video. For all other inaccuracies refer to comment section.

Hello and Thanks for the vid. Where did you buy your nato strap?

Which version of yours? Snzg13 or snzg15?

I got that you love it. I will buy it for myself.
James Bond really does exist, he hangs out with Santa Klaus
just want to confirm there is no battery or electronics in this watch. Is that correct?
Rodger Johnston yes.. it’s fully automatic
I paid 140 for mine used but mint
It’s an amazing watch
Made In Japan of course
Price in American dollars please
I'm getting about +10 seconds/day on mine. Thinking I'm going to regulate it soon. What's the accuracy you're getting on yours?

I have this, fairly new, made in japan and so far so good. Interestingly though, shipped from singapore. Lol.
the secondary strap is a safety feature incase the spring bar pops off the watch stays on the strap, it has with practicality than comfort.
Super, super, super.
i have the snzg17k1 !!! i LOVE IT
I do like your video..
This is the one I have the snzg13j
why does this cost only 100 bucks, here in germany they cost 140, and the japanese made ones cost 180Euros!!
Daniel Schlegel It's just a marketing strategy. Nothing else.
but why does it cost 40euros more than in the US?..
Most products in Europe are more expensive than in the USA. For example cars or computers.
you've got a point there.. say how much do german cars cost in the US?
The difference goes up to 50% in some cases.
