how to Fix Bluetooth Not working - In device manager or Control panel you are getting this error and
Type "shutdown s -t [number in seconds]" and press Enter Key. For example, if you want to shut down your PC/laptop after 10 minutes, then type shutdown -s -t 600.

THANK YOU!!!! worked for me using this method, in case others have similar quirks! my device manager didn't show the generic usb. but it was under hidden devices. just one of them. i also unistalled the 2 other hidden restrited devices and when restarting, i held down the power button until it shut off again (i have an ASUS). then started again and voila! bluetooth is back!! 🙂
Excellent! Glad I can Help. I made it complicated by doing a Shutdown timer, I guess power button is easier.
@ljillian3657 oh no, i used the shut down timer as well. but i had read somewhere about doing a full cold shutdown so i added that piece just in case 🙂

Big thanks, this works for me! However, it keeps happening at random times, at least once a week. It's nice to have a solution, but since it does require me to shut off my computer if im in the middle of work this can be really annoying to need to restart my laptop. I was just curious if you might know what causes this problem, is it a hardware or software thing? I dont have an external bluetooth receiver like you, im assuming this is just the bluetooth reciever in my laptop thats disconnecting?
I also Have the issue - its a driver issue. Some Wifi Cards and motherboards and systems just dont play nicely together. if you can download the actual proper driver for your bluetooth device thats best. dell, lenovo asus .. usually has some kind of driver software where it does all system driver updates. otherwise try optional windows updates maybe youll get lucky and Windows has a driver update that will fix it. if all else fails you can buy an external bluetooth device and if your bluetooth disconnects just plug in that one (try to install original driver software. I have a Sabrent and TP link one (very low profile USB stub dongles) both work very well. if those are also giving you issues you can pull out and put in and hopefully that solves the issue quicker. anyways these are my suggestions

Hi, I have the exact same issue but doing this does not solve it :(
So sorry - try taking out the card or dongle and putting it back in, that seems to work for lots of ppl
Mine didn't work the first tries. But After I uninstall all of the USB and shutdown, I unplugged everything that was attached on the pc while off, then powered on. On the Win welcome screen, I plug keyboard and mouse (dongle) then the Bluetooth showed up on the taskbar. Woohoo! Hopefully this helps those that failed.

you can also try taking the bluetooth receiver out and putting it back in
