At a competition one time we marinated the chicken in hard apple cider overnight. It was a huge hit. Added both a fruity sweetness and a fermented funkyness. I bet that would be a great addition to a recipe like this in either the chicken or the sauce.

I save chicken skin from when I out the whole chicken in a pot for the broth (making noodles or spaetzle). & make crispy skin (officially known as gribenes) and use it to garnish my chopped chicken liver. On bagels.

I have mixed feelings about this. My line is; if it’s cooked right, you don’t need bbq sauce (pork ribs being the exception). But a good sauce is always nice to have!
That's why I don't usually go for BBQ chicken. It just doesn't have the kind of flavor that beef or pork has so it needs to be masked by tons of sauce or seasoning.
Made those buns 3 times since I watched Josh's video. Have to make another dozen on Sat. Killer recipe. Nice video as always Brad.

You seem to leave out some of the basics of what your doing so first timers can try to copy it. Temp and time to cook the chicken? How long to crisp up the skin?
Another gem. The mini Chud Box appears capable of working superbly as both a grill and a smoker. Probably the right choice for many as a first BBQ and possibly last too.

I have no idea why. But at first I didn’t like this channel when it first popped on my feed. But now it’s my favorite for multiple reasons. spatch-COCK is a great way to cook chicken 😁. As far as suggestions for future cooks, grilled chicken with Aunt Peggy’s grilling sauce is awesome. It’s a Paula Dean recipe and the sauce is a combo of butter, Worcestershire sauce, peanut butter, and lemon juice. Sounds weird but it’s fan-taste-ic!! 😎
