We are not just nurses. The doctor comes in and delivers the news but we stay with patients for 12 hours helping them fight the fight or cry the tears. And celebrate the victories!
I think Anna needs to get some therapy and counselling, especially family therapy and personal for her interesting and suggestive comments and awareness on her mortality. First of all, I feel like she thinks she can only enjoy life by spending money and going on vacations. She needs to realize that and her family can always go have a picnic, take a walk or a hike, go swimming, or plenty of other things that don't require much or any money. She needs to spend more time with her family, especially her kids, because it sounds like she might be envious and resentful that she has to work and cannot spend much time with her own kids. I have some feeling she contributes more value to the relationship than her unemployed, stay at home spouse. Second, I think she needs to learn some gratitude and realize just how far she has come. She has completely decimated her debt, and I don't think she even knows that her house usually isn't included in debt. I don't recall she said what she earned, but she must be earning a significant amount as a doctor. She should look back and realize she has made massive progress and give herself more respect and care, especially because caring for others so much takes a lot out of all of us as human beings.
All you have to do is look at the math, are you a gambleing person? Look at the statistics of what you are going to live to, its like 70-80% that you will make it to an old age. Even higher if you take care of yourself and stay healthy. Are you really going to roll on black for a 20-30% chance? Or are you going to invest in your future for the 70-80% chance that you make it? It's as simple as that.
Agreed, but I did like Dr. John's point in the video - she sees that 20-30% chance happen everyday in her line of work, so her perspective is skewed. Your point is still true, though. Statistics don't change even when our perception does. I didn't like that their advice was to go Dave-ish though and take a vacation with 120k left to go. 😒 Someone pointed out that that's like 20k for a more average salary - if she'd called in with those figures they would've told her to keep staying the course just a few more months. Like another commenter said, why should the baby steps change bc she's a doctor?
The doctor knows the odds. The average life span is 82 years old. So she sees a very small portion of the population and if she is a good doctor, she would not be thinking of this. Her training would help keep her in the game until that patient is either saved or dead. We could not rule out mental health issues here combined with the massive debt...
No. I don't think there is mental health issues. She is just seeing the other side for the first time. Her family and family of origin are probably healthy and active. She has been attending school for decades and has seen mostly young adults. It is a wakeup call. She just needs to be balanced about it.

love this one! great advise
This is what’s wrong with the baby steps larger or longer term debts you burn out
I’m currently a university student. I’m considering taking up a new hobby as they just opened it near me. I looked at the website and I saw they have a opening discount and also a student discount. I’m thinking of joining but it’s a monthly membership. I think I’ll be available to afford it but I’m scared I could’ve put it somewhere else by saving up instead. What do I do?
This was definitely the title for this video. I thought it was going to be some 21 year old girl who just wanted to party
YOLO!!
You dont only live once infact you live every single day because you never know you might never wake up the next day.
Where’s Dave?
If this was a male caller talking to Dave, the response would be " wah"
Good job for her
It took nearly a million in debt to question how you were managing your life and finances wow. Better late than never I guess. Focus on your life the odds are that you will likely live to 70+ so get debt free and retire by your 50s.
Lol how hard that hits home as even just a nurse...
What town in North Houston we’re you born was it actually in Houston or where? I’m from Kingwood so I’m just curious
Enjoy life to the fullest, or end up a walmart greeter trying to pay bills at 90?
Nigtmare!!! Save!! Save!!!Save!!!😳😭😭😭
Her entire perspective is that she won’t live to 90.
YOLO: ALL IN savings
Calling Dave Ramsey to talk about YOLOing your money....lol.
You didn't even listen to the video 🤦♂️
@@javierhuizar4207 just referring to the title at least
Invest 20% of your income. 15% used to be the recommendation but it's probably just cutting it these days.
By realizing you only live half if you don’t have money
Simple. If everyone had lived for today then none of us would be here.
Who says you can’t take a vacation? Take a road trip somewhere
Surely recommending the right kind of life insurance should also have been on the agenda, given her worries about her family?! Isn't that obvious?
Get a term life insurance. Pay off stupid student loans. And then go on vacation
I think she wants them to give her the go-ahead to spend money like crazy.
Wait where’s Dave? Huh?
I already laughed at the title
That wasn't a very funny one though haha
Can't decide whether this guy sounds and looks like Bill Pullman or David Duchovny or someone else that I can't remember.
I just YOLOD on Tesla stock
That's not that risky anymore
Dont let the title fool you. They are very good with millennials
How do you balance YOLO with the Ramsey plan...Marry rich LOL
A good life insurance plan might help her stress.
Wow
They never answered her question
Ez add fun into ypur budget
AMC to the moon! 🚀🚀
Wrong YOLO. Listen to the video 🤦♂️
To the moon
Dave that new intro jingle isn't it
