I think you should see how far you can get with the convertible without tearing into the white car. That stuff (headlights, fenders and bumper) might have been removed and just not properly re-installed. I used to have a 1990 Geo Metro. I got 45 MPG in the winter. I gave it to my daughter who once filled the tank (11 gal) and had enough left over from a $10.00 bill to by a bag of potato chips and a coke. It was a great little car.

Hey Randy- on your Crown Vic with No odometer readings… Once you hook it up to the battery, then just take a photo with your phone of where the mileage is usually illuminated… For some reason the phone can pick up the current mileage in the snapshot… Just try it and see. I have had several and it works every time

I think the funniest thing bout the yellow GEO is that it has an alarm system installed on the Driver's Side shock tower.
Honestly tho, cleaned up with a roof that properly keeps the rain out, I would drive the hell out of this car. As bad as it looks now, it's still probably better than the rust bucket I have now.

Those GEO cars were never known to be reliable vehicles. but the fact that she was abandoned for all those years and still runs is incredible. Maybe the car was built on a Monday or Tuesday. My father bought a leftover 1991 LSi 3 Cyl AT with AC. He drove it for fuel economy, and he was pulling 48 MPG with the AC kicking and 45MPG without. At 75k it started burning oil, he was adding a quart a month and every year he would spin on a new filter. Sold it with 98k to his boss for a 3rd car for his son after he totaled a Mustang GT and a Futura with a V8. At 98k he had just put on new front brakes on and included the rear brakes with the car when he sold it. He had steel 12" wheels!!! Festiva and Aspire wheels fit and moved you up to 13". After the Geo he had an Aspire 5-speed but that was too small for both of us to hit in. That he got 11 years out of the first battery.

This would be a great little car to buzz around town in the summertime. You can’t beat a drop top that runs as good as this car does for $250. Reminds me of my 1980 El Camino I bought from my Aunt for $175. Cleaned it up, changed the plugs, fluids, tires, and battery. I drove that thing for another 4 years!

Love videos like these. I would love to see at least one of the Geos brought back and made decent as well as that Crown Vic.

Honestly I think both are worth saving. My mother had one and the thing lasted pretty much forever, until the snow belt rust got to it. But they are really good cars from what mom recalls. Those vics are great too!

The automatic ones you’d be surprised how much difference there is in speed. The auto were turtles!

I'd like to see the white one run too. The wiring on the transmission is likely the reason it wouldn't start. Maybe the neutral safety switch.

Use the slug aka automatic metro as a parts car for the yellow one, and heres a thought sand it down do some basic body work and paint it in your shop single stage paint would be fine you are auto aution rebuilds do one on a budget show the youngsters how its done.

I LOVE these little Geos!!! Sure, they aren't powerful by any means, but they just sip gas! One of my friends bought a 1993 Geo Metro brand new and he drove it until it had almost 200,000 miles on it. Still ran when he sold it and the AC worked. Back when he bought it, he said $10 would fill up the gas tank and last over a week. (with current gas prices it's over $30 to fill it up but you do get over 400 miles on a tank). I am sure if you gave that car a good tune-up (air filter, spark plugs, plug wires, oil/oil filter replacement) get the signals fixed, windshield replaced, back window on convertible top, find a factory OEM tape deck replacement it will really be a fun little car to drive. I also hope you can get that white one running as well.

My wife had a 1990 when we met in 97. It had the 3 cyl with a five speed. No a/c, no radio and an eight gallon tank. that thing got easily got over 400 miles to a full tank of gas. we upgraded her to a brand new 2001 elantra with a five speed because the Metros lack of a/c . We still have the Elantra almost 24 years later.

Love the yellow geo metro can’t wait to see that Clint cleaned up put a new top on it. I like the rims on the geometric on the yellow one just a complete clean up new top having a good little summer car. I don’t know what the top looks like on the white one maybe swap tops you could but when you took the top down on the yellow when you get here, creaking and cry sound like snap, crackle pop scare that one of the bars are probably broke but a good WD-40 straight down real good.

Great video Randy. I spent two weeks in Florida (I'm from England) and my rental was a Geo Metro auto.
Great little car. Got in, it started every time; and though it didn't have much grunt, it was great fun to drive.
Would I rather have had a good ol' V8? Sure, but I'd probably killed myself spinning out lol.

The Metro's were really susceptible to vacuum leaks. Have one with the 4-cylinder, worked on a couple of the threes and used a 3-cylinder automatic to power a T bucket! Made a larger pickup bed mounted it back there in the back last time I saw that they put about 20,000 mi on it with no problems and were getting about 40-45 Mpg!
