I think you should see how far you can get with the convertible without tearing into the white car. That stuff (headlights, fenders and bumper) might have been removed and just not properly re-installed. I used to have a 1990 Geo Metro. I got 45 MPG in the winter. I gave it to my daughter who once filled the tank (11 gal) and had enough left over from a $10.00 bill to by a bag of potato chips and a coke. It was a great little car.

Hey Randy- on your Crown Vic with No odometer readings… Once you hook it up to the battery, then just take a photo with your phone of where the mileage is usually illuminated… For some reason the phone can pick up the current mileage in the snapshot… Just try it and see. I have had several and it works every time

I think the funniest thing bout the yellow GEO is that it has an alarm system installed on the Driver's Side shock tower.
Honestly tho, cleaned up with a roof that properly keeps the rain out, I would drive the hell out of this car. As bad as it looks now, it's still probably better than the rust bucket I have now.

Those GEO cars were never known to be reliable vehicles. but the fact that she was abandoned for all those years and still runs is incredible. Maybe the car was built on a Monday or Tuesday. The old girl probably never thought she would be saved. Old cars certainly have character if you show them a little love. Great video.

Not reliable? Only if you neglected maintaining it. Change the oil, transmission fluid, antifreeze and the timing belts as recommended and they will run forever. A friend of mine has over 400,000 on his and the one I got from my brother had over 300,000 on it and I would still be driving it if a tweaker hadn't stolen it and totalled it out

I LOVE these little Geos!!! Sure, they aren't powerful by any means, but they just sip gas! One of my friends bought a 1993 Geo Metro brand new and he drove it until it had almost 200,000 miles on it. Still ran when he sold it and the AC worked. Back when he bought it, he said $10 would fill up the gas tank and last over a week. (with current gas prices it's over $30 to fill it up but you do get over 400 miles on a tank). I am sure if you gave that car a good tune-up (air filter, spark plugs, plug wires, oil/oil filter replacement) get the signals fixed, windshield replaced, back window on convertible top, find a factory OEM tape deck replacement it will really be a fun little car to drive. I also hope you can get that white one running as well.

Investing in tyre machines is a good idea. It'll save you money in the long run.

A detail on the interior, exterior, and engine bay on the yellow Metro would go a long way for improving the looks. If you want to, you can add retro decal/graphics that several cars from the 90's had (it would be the cherry on top).
Glad that you are giving the Geos a chance. You don't see them around nowadays.
I'm hoping that the yellow Geo would bring some value after detailing + running and driving well in addition to having a manual transmission, yellow exterior color, and convertible.

Lets see the white Geo running and depending on how it runs would depend on if it gets used for parts or gets fixed would be awesome to see them both running and driving and go down the road for someone to enjoy

Man I feel old watching this as I had my first double date in my old friends Geo metro back in the early 90s. My buddy drifted the clutch backwards on a hill into a big truck so the car was wrecked so it made us have to take my car. A lot happened to me that night 😁.The good ole days almost 30 years ago!!!!

The yellow one would be easy to bring back to life for very little $$ the only real expense is the windshield, the paint is acrylic which can be brought back with a clay bar then cut & polish, interior can be cleaned easily too

Been looking forward to this one! Something about a little bitty clapped out Geo Metro :D
A girlfriend of mine had the three door version of this generation. She drove that thing for years. Brings back a lot of good memories :)

I would fill that up with water and run it up to temperature. There is a high likelyhood that it might leak out when you fill it. When you are confident it wont leak out, you can drain out the water along with any rust or sediment and fill it with coolant.

Enjoyed the video. Never seen a Geo Metro over here in the UK, looks a fun little convertible. I think if you get them both cleaned up and running, and then send them back through the auctions, you should do fine, would make some good content and some lovely winter projects for someone.
