As a person with a disability, the Matt comment pissed me off too! Don't tell us what we can or can't do. We understand our limits because we live with them every day. I work cows, cut hay and do MOST all of the farm chores. Matt keep doin you my friend!!! Mike, it awesome youre such a good friend.

Thank you John. I have MS also. Just like Matt. Being a Chicago policeman he might not have been able to handle, I don't know his background. I live near Chicago and it's a tough area to police, I'm sure. But, living with MS myself, I know my limitations everyday. It also changes daily. I imagine Matt wouldn't do anything to harm that calf if he felt he couldn't get the job done. Just bc we have "disabilities" does NOT make us useless!

I was really surprised someone said that about Matt.
They apparently don't know what its like to fulfill a desire to work while still able ESPECIALLY if, say, working on a ranch is a dream. I dont know the circumstances as I am a new viewer and really didn't know Matt had a health issue. Couldn't tell. I would have been awkward first few times tagging.
Heck I have pieced ears. Multiple over the years..no pain there.

Don’t let people that say bad things or say things that hurt you we all have feelings and i find people can be very cold so I do the same thing I don’t read none of them anymore because they don’t understand what it is like to run a farm and every farm is different and you are doing very good with your farm so keep up the good work and don’t let people hurt you

Your cows aren’t weird, Mike! Ours segregate themselves off as well….it’s just a cow thing. Ours also take turns to babysit the calf day care (that’s what I call it). Our calves even form their own little gangs, that I call brat packs…🤣😂
Thanks for another great 30 in 30, we look forward to each one. Stay positive and know that most of us who are also ranchers support you and think you’re doing a great job caring for your livestock and your family!! See y’all tomorrow! 😊

We all have disabilities whether they be physical, emotional or intellectual and those disabilities may be obvious or invisible. Matt may have a disability, but having MS does not mean that he is unable to be productive on the ranch. Only Matt can determine what he is comfortable in doing and from what I've seen, he is adding value to the ranch.

We have a very small farm with donkeys and cows in north Georgia… you are why we got into raising our own beef… and we give them the best life we can while we have them before they go to processing camp!!! We also started gardening after watching Erin… you both have taught us so much and we love that you are so well spoken and you speak so much on the business side of it which we learn from!!! Please don’t let negative people weigh on you because the good you and your family pass on is a million times more than any negative people who don’t have a clue what you do and do through!!! I spent a month In Wyoming when I was 13 on horseback and rodeos and fell I love with the place!!! You and your family have got more grit than most people in the world for what you do, where you do, every single day!!! Thank you for all you do!!! Anytime we are facing a cow question, we look for a video you might have on it first!!! Thank you for encouraging the small farmers like us to do what we love and love what we do!!!

Good evening Mike and Erin, You are a wonderful, loving farming family, and its our pleasure that you share your love with us. Forget the "nay-sayers"......what was that saying once, that you can't please all of the people all the time:....I know that is not quite it, but heck.....You are doing your job...and, you are not doing it to 'please" people. I am honored that you share with us. Matt and Jeff are great additions, in that they know how your operation works, and can just jump in, to do whatever needs to be done. Your QandA session was neat. I am one, that will read lot of the comments.....just to see how folks perceive things on the ranch. I am loving this 30/30, know its extra work for you, but I will be sad when it goes back to 2 times a week. Have a Joyous Easter.....Bev in Maine

Great way of handling those comments Mike. When it comes to Matt and the calf. As long as you showed him proper tag placement and he didn't leave that calf with a droopy ear, more power to him for getting out there and doing what he wants. That is far better than some out there that don't even have a disability.

One of the most important things for a man battling a debilitating disease is to get out and be active. To have a purpose, and in being needed, have a sense of accomplishment. Matt is doing what gives him joy. After a life of service, it is fantastic that he has a friend like you to give him that opportunity.

I get tickled over the CAKE thing. It's as you said it's a nutrition nugget ( cube, cylinder, whatever)....they just eat it like cake!!! It's yummy to them. Just my take on it. Hey! My late husband had disabilities,...but he sure kept going. I really appreciate Matt and Jeff being there. I have watched you up off and on (especially) during terribly cold weather and prayed. I'm pleased they are there.

Thank you for Vlog #15. I was away for the Easter weekend. I can only add, "Keep on, keeping on!" You do a great job. Your character showed through with calf #1. Erin did all she could as well. We know that. . . . My wife is a retired physiotherapist. She worked with other people to help others with disabilities. That was her working life. She loved helping people. Matt is fortunate that he has had some warning to show him that he better enjoy each day. More power to Matt. He knows his limits. . . . I will end with a true story. When we first got married, we moved to a small city in Saskatchewan. She had a patient in a care facility who had been in a stupid car collision "playing chicken" with a friend. He was brain injured and he had a spinal injury. Every Friday they got him ready to go home for the weekend. He was in a wheelchair and he had trouble with speech as well. They started getting him up on bars and he managed to start with some small steps. In a few months, he was able to walk without bars, with assistance. My wife asked me if she could take some old Motor Trend magazines to work. . . . Well, fast forward the best part of a year. Her "patient" was able to leave the care facility and go back to the farm. In time, he got married and they had a family. He was able to run a successful farm. I wonder what would have happened if she and the other physiotherapist gave up on the person who only did one stupid thing. He had determination to go on when given another chance. Mike, you have a genuine, gentle spirit. "Keep on, keeping on!" You have been "blessed" with a wonderful family. (I realize that you might not like the word "blessed".) Thank you for your UA-cam channel. People can watch what they want. . . . but, they can just fade away without being nasty. We do not have to be nasty in return. We can take the high road instead. 😊

I am catching every video as they are so interesting. You do an amazing job of covering every situation that your dealing with, explaining why and what and how things are done. I find that educational as well as fun to listen to. i was telling my 5 friends about your show today as we sat around a table and made Easter decorations for the dining rm table. Mike, you know that people are people and they are not going to straighten up even though you tell them what nasty people they really are. Focus on those of us who really get a kick out of what your doing for work and in your life. We love it! We want only the best for you and your family. Success and happiness every day in your life.... God Bless you......Glenda

I as a child, I'm now 59 years old lived on a self sufficient farm. We raise our own meat and veggies. We treated our livestock with care and kindness. Seems you do respect also. Weather is so different in locations. Keep up the good work, don't let haters bring you down. This is to viewers that don't or make comments about farmers quit watching. Farming is farming good or bad. I have been there. Mike love the videos. Thumbs up you care about your livestock.

I watched this episode and then sat and stewed about the comment about Matt. I am still upset. First he is not disabled he is living with limits and doing a damn good job. I thank him for his service and I am glad he is enjoying his time on the ranch. I look forward to every new post. God bless you all

This is my first year with your channel and I’m loving the 30 in 30! I’ve learned so much and look forward to learning so many more things. You are real people living on your ranch sharing your trials and tribulations with all of us. For me it’s a pleasure to watch and learn, thank you for sharing. I share you with my whole family too and tell them all I’ve learned. I find ranching fascinating!

I enjoy your Q&A. It's informative. Erin is absolutely right about dealing with negative comments. Please ignore them. I certainly don't want to hear about them. They make me upset too and that's not good for my mental health.
